   We made a reservation at the gather to celebrate my 21st birthday (we were staying in a snug on-site). Me and my partner had a lovely meal; the staff were so friendly and attentive, the food and drink was fabulous, and not the mention to idillic location of the bistro! We would highly recommend to anyone.

   My main course was described on the menu as “sweet sticky chicken” but was too sweet for my tastebuds. Cannot fault the food though.

   We thought that it was just a little expensive but the food was excellent and the view outstanding (though it was a dull day). When we arrived there were only a few people and it was perfect. However, as it filled up, the noise level increased considerably until we almost had to shout to be heard across the table. A few soft surfaces would help to deaden the noise level we felt.

    From the first look at the amazing view when parking the car, our visit to Gather was superb. The friendly greeting on arrival and our table ready at a moments notice despite us turning up 30 min early. The menu looked so good we could have ordered everything but the dishes we chose didn’t disappoint. Quick service, warm plates and delicious food, all served in a warm and lovely venue. This was our first visit and it definitely won’t be the last. Thank you to all.

    Beautiful venue and the restaurant was exceptional. The older chaps service was outstanding. All the food was served quickly and it was piping hot. It was also very reasonable!

    Great stuff but apple and pear tartlet pastry case too hard/brittle. Filling would've been nice as crumble with custard. Beef bourguignon was very good and house malbec matched well. Great atmosphere and stunning view.

    Booked a table for 2 for breakfast and we are seated in the best table on the house with the view of the sea in front of us in a very nice morning ordered smoked salmon with poached egg in an open bagel .. can't fault it, it was delicious with good value for money.. I highly recommend this place and if going to visit Dumfries and Galloway again definitely a place to come back.. 5 🌟

    We arrived early thinking we could have a coffee first but we got seated early which was unexpected. Food and service was second to none and the lady who set our table was so polite so well done and a real credit to you . The gentleman behind the bar area the same what a great credit to you very attentive and informative. Our first visit but most certainly not our last . We are only an hour away but we will even consider staying overnight that is how much we enjoyed the ambience and views .

    Love the location. We went for early brunch, Most of the food was great, but the bacon was very dry for my breakfast, and for my partner, the veggie sausage was dry, It would have been better if one of the waiting staff had come and asked how our food was during the meal,

    We had a fantastic lunch, wonderful friendly and helpful service followed by coffee sat outside taking in the spectacular views. Clean roomy toilets and an extra plus as were the blankets for outside and the heated seats!

    Awesome location and venue. Amazing views of the coastline. We went for brunch, generous portions of waffles and bacon which was lovely and the pancakes which were also delicious. Definitely be back for dinner next time. Highly recommend!

    We were staying in one of the snugs at Laggan and booked for brunch at Gather. It’s a beautiful space and the staff were all very welcoming. Graham was a very charming host and made sure that my birthday breakfast was extra special. The view is breathtaking and its difficult to choose from the menu which showcases local produce. Everything we ate was very tasty and great quality, we were so impressed we returned the following day to try the waffles. We can’t wait to return.
