I went to Gather with my family to celebrate my father and brothers' birthdays. I had notified the restaurant via OpenTable that it was their birthday, notified the hostess when we checked in, and my mother mentioned it to the server in hopes they would do something special - even just a candle. Even though we ultimately ordered multiple desserts, no acknowledgement was made by the restaurant that we were there celebrating multiple birthdays. Also, my mother's martini came out close to room temperature. Other than that, the food was good and the restaurant is a good value for the area. I would go back and give them another shot, but I was still disappointed in the service.
Went here for a date night. It is not very romantic therefore we were surprised how not romantic it was.
It would be great for friends get-together.
Cool place, loved the open concept. Would try it again in the summer since there are so many windows and a large patio
Food was great, drinks were good. Service definitely could have been better for the price that you’re paying on the menu. We waited a while to get our food order in, left us with a table full of plates and waiting for the check for a while, but all in all it was pretty good.
Small menu but everything we had was great! The steak frites was prepared perfectly and the gnocci bolognese was delicious!
The French Toast sandwich was delicious!
the drinks and food were excellent. The ambiance and service were outstanding as well.
I had the oysters, and they were so sweet and briny, i tasted the ocean! and the korean steak was perfect. My husband had the bolognese and he would not share it with me!
Nice ambiance, quiet. Food was good, dessert was amazing!!
Great breakfast and service was good! Limited items on the brunch menu but it was Waffle Sunday!
Great place for brunch.
This was not my first time at Gather but it was the first time that I brought someone from out of town. She was thrilled with the atmosphere and the food. Our server was very patient and attentive. Very happy with this experience
Very enjoyable lunch after enjoying a morning at CIA. Just a short walk away.
Gather was amazing! We went on a Sunday early afternoon for brunch. The food was perfect, drinks were delicious and well crafted, and they had sports on the tvs at the bar which was part of what we were hoping for. I love the large open-plan with giant windows style, we could see right over to the grass and the water beyond. It was also a very convenient location for us as we were going to the ICA next door right after. Staff was friendly, helpful, and very accommodating as we had to push our reservation back by a couple hours. It wasn't very crowded, but still cozy. Only thing I would note is that the glare from the windows makes it hard to see the tv screens if you're sitting anywhere other than the bar.
We actually had a reservation at another restaurant nearby who seated us 15 minutes late - then we waited 10 minutes and no one came to our table. So we walked to Gather (having gotten a reservation with them) were seated right on time and our server came by within a minute. She was super attentive and accommodating. Food was great.
Very nice room in Seaport District; food was good but not spectacular. Good bar and I can see how Seaport office workers would find this place convenient for happy hour. Nice casual food and drinks in a great location less than a block from the ICA.
First NYE in Boston. Great place to have a nice dinner with a loved one and an amazing view.
The did was great and the staff were friendly. I will definitely be returning in the future.
First time there and enjoyed it very much! Would definitely recommend it!
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time at Gather. The ambiance was perfect with the modern lighting. Our only complaint was that the server seemed rushed. While we appreciated quick service, it seemed like they were eager to leave.
The food was pretty decent but not worth the price in my opinion. The value was mostly in the location and the environment.
Biggest issue is that it’s just overpriced for what it is.
First visit. Good spot for a business lunch. Food and service were good. Good location and nice view of the harbor.
Had an amazing gluten free breakfast sandwich and staff was very conscientious about the gluten allergy at the table and went above and beyond to ensure no cross contamination
Service was pretty terrible. Had to call over the server to get water and order after 10 mins if sitting with no attention.
When water came, 2/4 had bits of bread and straw wrappers floating in them.
Food was ok but not good. Gluten free bread was terrible.
Will not return despite convenient location for my work.
Normal, good for lunch.
The one thing I liked about the place were the lights hanging from the ceiling. For food, I ordered the steak, it was overcooked to the point it was hard to chew. The mashed potatoes and asparagus that came with it were good, but not enough to justify the price of the meal. Also, due to some private event the restaurant had booked, I had to squeeze my way through a crowded hall to reach the bathroom. Not a big deal I guess, but when you add up the overcooked steak and this, I left the restaurant feeling that the overall experience could have been better.
Had a great meal here this past weekend. The views of the harbor were perfect, the decor was lovely and the food was delicious. Would definitely recommend the chicken and waffle bites. The huevos rancheros was phenomenal as well!
Food was fine but service was bad. We sat at our table for 15 minutes before anyone came over to serve us. Had to go up to the hostess to ask to be waited on
Good ambiance, Nice place. A little bit expensive for what it is.
Menu is a bit limited but good food quality sort of offsets that fact. Above average dining experience overall 🙂
Gather offered a great brunch menu with some unique options. The food was great and the perfect portion.
We went in a Friday night to celebrate my daughters recent raise. She works inthe area so that was the main reason I chose It. It seemed to be a yuppie after work sort of place to have a drink then stay for dinner.. we thought the menu was limited so we opted for apps for our dinners. Clam chowder and hummus was excellent my mixed salad with chicken was good albeit a little dry.. mixed drinks were excellent!
Service and food were excellent. Acoustics make conversation a challenge.
I got the baby romaine cesar salad, with chicken. It was good but it could have used more dressing, as it was a bot dry. Would also prefer the romaine to be chopped up vs. the small wedges. It made trying to eat across from my colleague a bit awkward.
Went here for an early dinner. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Tacos were delicious! Would go again.
We went to Gather for dinner at 8:00. The air-conditioning was on and it was freezing. My husband does not get easily cold, but he was freezing as well. I was so uncomfortable that we decided to sit outside--it was 60 degrees but warmer outside. For this reason alone, I would not go back to this restaurant.
Had the halibut--it was dry. Had the sangria--it was watery.
Oh, well. You go out with your husband on a rare date-night, so it's disappointing to have a less than stellar restaurant experience.
In town for a conference so it wasn’t too busy during the work week. The lobster roll was fantastic and exploding with lobster!
The menu options for lunch were decent. Our food came out quickly, which was a plus. But this location was tough to get to and navigate since it was within an area under a lot of construction and barely anyone was there when we arrived at prime lunch hour. We enjoyed the chowder and our salads came out quickly, but the dressings were not seasoned well at all, so it was pretty bland. We probably should have ordered something hot since it was also really cold that day and the majority of the restaurant is glass.
Can be summed up in one word “Yum” beautiful sunny day and great Mimosas
