The ambiance is the unrivaled in the area, and their al fresco dining is lovely. However, their brunch menu far outshines their dinner menu.
Gastroteca was absolutely wonderful. The food and ambience were great! I highly recommend everyone try it!
Loved it! Such a cute place. Food was wonderful! Service was great too. Was able to take our time to enjoy.
I came here with my husband and daughter for brunch. The food was cool as if it had been sitting out a bit before it was served. The coffee was also cool - never a good feature!
Wonderful restaurant! Excellent food, atmosphere, and service. Will be back!
The food and drinks were great. The staff was friendly and exceptionally professional. It was an all-around outstanding experience.
Very nice ambiance, service was exceptional and the dinner was amazing.
We were looking for a nice place to eat after dropping somebody off at LGA. Gastroteca was only about 15 minutes away so we gave it a shot. What a find! I so much preferred this to (I'm sorry) the usual Greek fare in Astoria. Pleasant, subdued atmosphere, interesting food and wine, excellent service. What more could you ask for? I'll be back for sure.
We had a great experience. Food, service & atmosphere made our Thanksgiving a pleasant one.
Amazing! A must go! Great for a date spot!
It was terrific! Cool little spot with a great ambiance :)
Very lovely neighborhood bar/restaurant
Food was great. What else can u say.
Ordered a California eggs benedict with home fries and a garlic-jalepeño bloody mary (it had some cute name but I forget). Service was good, food was very nicely prepared. Nothing to complain about but nothing remarkable either - pretty much what you would expect for the price point. The bloody Mary was disappointing. Lots of spice but not enough flavor & sort of watery. Served with pickled cauliflower, which was nice but really could have used some quality large green olives. It was not loud in there, definitely easy have a conversation and catch up with a friend. Atmosphere was spacious yet cozy and cute, not an easy combo to pull off. I would definitely go again. I would try a different drink.
Brunch is consistently great here! Good drinks, music & vibes!
Gastroteca is our go-to brunch spot on the weekends. Everyone we bring there loves it!! Dinner is also amazing. This is definitely at the top of our list of favorite restaurants in Astoria!
My daughter and I found this restaurant on Open Table and decided to try it. So happy we did! Our waiter was friendly and very knowledgeable. We tasted a couple of wines and she was able to recommend a bottle based on our opinions. It was amazing. We ordered 3 crostinos to share as well as salad, pasta, and dessert. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting in Astoria. I will eat here again on my next trip.
Love this place- staff is super friendly, food is excellent (get the house baked mozzarella, any of the ragus or lobster pastas, and the Banana Riccotta Zeppoles). This place is a gem.
This place is great! The food is delicious and huge portions. Classic Italian American faire and amazing cocktails. We got the carafe of Peach Mimosa and it did not disappoint! Will definitely be back.
A great gastro-pub. Drinks were excellent, wine list was good and reasonably priced. Food was different and creative. Well prepared. Service was excellent and I liked that the waiters catered to not only their tables but to everyone dinning who needed anything. We sat outside but inside looked comfortable.
Food is delicious, excellent selection. Service was perfect! Love the ambiance/atmosphere. Would very highly recommend for any occasion.
We went for Sunday brunch and everything we ordered was delicious - steak and eggs, nutella french toast, and chicken and waffles. Service was great. The restaurant didn't have our reservation but it worked out fine as we were seated immediately.
Caught up with my bestie here for brunch; nice and quite, and the staff doesn't rush you out if you want to just keep sitting and chat. Food was good; I had the breakfast stromboli (an appetizer) with a side of home fries. Chef was accommodating of my request for scrambled eggs on the side instead of a fried egg on top of the stromboli, which I appreciated. The only thing I could stay as a con was that their coffee and tea cups were TINY TINY and so I ordered a second cup of tea, because the first did not satisfy... and they charged me for 2 teas ($3.00 each) which I just thought was a little crazy given how small the cups were.
We first went there after tennis at the US Open. It's a friendly atmosphere and the food, service and ambiance convinced us we should make it a regular stop whenever we're in Queens.
It was wonderful
This was a Sunday evening and the weather was great for eating outside. Despite being at a busy intersection, the noise level was good for conversation. The waiter was extremely helpful and attentIve. The food was great, the pasta is homemade and was prepared perfectly al dente. Would definitely recommend.
Prior to checking out the place, I had high hopes for the menu and was looking forward to trying new dishes that I haven't seen before. However the execution of plates ordered were sub-par, poor presentation, average meal at best, and over priced for the meal. Cute spot but the food is not of great quality.
We enjoyed a delightful brunch and they were very accommodating with our stroller. I've been here for dinner before and brunch and both have been great.
Went with my best friend for a nice quiet dinner and bottle of wine. It was absolutely perfect! We sat outside in the front patio. Food, service and ambiance were all great.
This place was a great find, the food was interesting and tasty, service was great and the restaurant has a great atmosphere. Will definitedly come back
Took friends here for brunch the first time. Server was sweet and prompt and the pitcher of cocktails was strong!!
Gastroteca is just a great restaurant. Good for dinner or brunch. the home made pasta is to die for.
Great spot! This is my go to place for group outings like birthdays, or just to catch up with old friends. The food is always good and the service is great. We'll definitely be back.
Waitress wasn't very attentive, seemed like she forgot about our table fairly often. But the food was amazing so would go back for that alone.
Lovely local spot. Extremely comfortable padded seating. Unfortunately, three of the entrees that we requested were unavailable, which seemed odd for an early Wednesday evening. However, the meals we chose were delicious. As far as the noise level, there was a group of friends at the bar who were extremely loud (probably teachers celebrating the last day of school!). I imagine that when patrons behave themselves, the noise wouldn't be a problem, but there were numerous times when we couldn't even hear ourselves and we were completely across the room from the bar. The service was outstanding, from the hostess who greeted us, seated us, and thanked us upon our departure, to our waitress who was extremely attentive and responsive. Considering we were a table of 6, I was impressed that additional staff assisted to make sure that all meals were delivered at the same time. A big plus is the seating options: sidewalk seating, bar, dining area, and quiet/private right rear dining. Will definitely be going again!
Yummy brunch and affordable.
Great ambiance and decor. Food was fine—nothing out of the ordinary. Probably wouldn't come back here for brunch, but would for a drink.
Definitely worth waiting for a table outside. The neighborhood is quiet enough to enjoy the ambiance and the delicious food.
5 stars---quality food and atmosphere.
