It wasn’t bad but nothing real special. Clam chowder was good tho
Natalia was amazing!great suggestions and service
We were seated next to window and there was a small intoxicated group who sat on sidewalk directly outside, a homeless person sat on window ledge with only window seperating us while we were eating. He was in bad shape, no shoes, filthy and torn, backside exposed, wanted to help but left as finished meal. As a result ambiance could be greatly improved. Service and food was very good though.
Very good food!
The food was good and super fresh. The service was terrible!! It's a good thing I never needed a drink refill, it was all she could do to bring my original soda and water along with taking my order. Had a food runner not brought my food out, I doubt she would have been capable of doing so. It doesn't take 10 minutes to run a credit card and apologizing constantly doesn't make it right.
Awesome hospitality. Knowledgeable and friendly servers. Such tasty food. Reasonably priced. We went twice during our recent San Diego vacation.
The NICEST and most hospitable waiter I have ever encountered. We went with two 5 year olds and a 2 year old- service was fast, staff was accommodating and kind and food was incredible. Great drinks, too. 10/10 recommend!
Food and menu looked great so my fiancé and I decided to try this place. Had a reservation for a Sunday night. Walked in and were immediately seated and given waters by the host. About 3/4 of the tables were open. From there we sat for 10 minutes without any acknowledgement from anyone. We were in the bar area. We decided to leave. For the prices we expected better. If someone came by and said “Hey, I’ll be by in a few minutes.” we would have stayed. Not a good experience.
Servers were great but the food did not taste fresh
Fish was overcooked and dry, and given its price, I expected better. Happy hour menu was good.
Food was excellent.
Place was not that crowded yet it took around 45 minutes to just get a waiter while sitting at our table. When we finally ordered, my food was cold and the scallops were overdone.
Do not recommend.
These jokers weren’t even open. Not sure how they accepted our rezzie, but I’ll take the points. There were workers inside but the door was locked.
Waiter was rude. Fish was terribly dry, possibly previously frozen. Rice was cold on my plate.
Water polo celebration. Great server! Everything great!
The experience was great, we were seated immediately. I love their options for the children.
The food and service was wonderful. Third time dining there. Always a pleasure!!! Will definitely be back there next time we’re in town!
The ciopino was outstanding. Halibut overcooked and rockfish not very fresh. Overpriced.
Server was very inattentive. Steak was somehow medium rare on one end and rare on the other. Very loud disruptive group that management allowed to be loud although they were clearly disrupting everyone’s dining experience. Overall, pretty poor
Food was excellent, cocktails were poorly executed, and service seems a bit frazzled - maybe after effects of opening after the pandemic. But the food makes up for it.
Great food and fantastic waitress. Cannot remember her name, but she was of Eastern European descent. Loved the food and the service was fast and exceptional. Table was sticky and the room looked like we were in the bellows of a fishing vessel (really, really dark). Would eat there again, but either in the main room or outside.
Came from AZ for some fresh seafood, and it DID NOT disappoint! Amazing, tentative service on top of it!
Great food, great atmosphere, wonderful service and servers.
First time to this restaurant and made the mistake of getting dressed up for a special occasion.... which was a complete waste of time as in our opinion it's really just a sports bar with really very good food and very reasonable wine...
Staff were rushed off their feet (Sunday evening) and could not attend to everyone, but that is most likely pandemic related...... Food was excellent all round and we also enjoyed a really good bottle of wine too.....
Probably will look at other places next time - there are many, many, many, to choose from - but were impressed at how hard the staff tried.... Thank you.
This restaurant was quite a disappointment. I made reservations for a Father's day brunch, on a Sunday, but the menu was just the usual lunch menu. The waitstaff, was not really helpful, with the words, "we can't do that" as an answer to my request for a lobster tail for my father-in law, who had specifically requested this for father's day. The chef was more helpful and did manage to get this request fulfilled. The wait for for was very long, more than a half hour even though the place was less than half full. The food was adequate, but nothing special. The location, on the edge of the Gaslamp District, is a bit sketchy these days, perhaps as a result of Horton Plaza closing. One of the denizens of the area came into the restaurant as we were finishing our meal, shouting incoherently and frightening my mother in law. Perhaps a venue in this location could benefit from a host or some similar doorkeeper to prevent such incursions. Anyway, overall a substandard experience, hopefully never to be repeated.
Was not impressed. Food was cold when it should have been hot. The quac tasted fishy and looked old (browned over). The chips were stale. We were the first customers there. 11am reservations on a Sunday. Not going back.
My fish was over cooked but the staff was reasonably nice. Just average.
A lot of noise from outside distractions! Bar tender ran from behind the bar to break up a street fight! Location very poor on the corner with homeless problems outside. Food quality only fair. Place could use a face lift and more help needed to wait tables.
Made reservation for 9pm, when we showed up they stated that kitchen was closed and there’s nothing they can do. BS, why take my reservation then?
They were out of oysters and some food was slightly overcooked.
Restaurant was understaffed, tables seated throughout and only 1 server doubling as a bartender
Service was the worst part of our entire experience, they were dissmisve, rude, and short with my group. The food was great little pricey but still solid.
Went for some happy hour oysters
Not good food and bad service
Looked for a place in the GQ for an afternoon lunch. Rather ordinary service and food quality.
We ordered the halibut but it was dried. The crab cake was moist and flavorful. The clam chowder was good too. Not sure if they were short staffed but the bartender was attending to all of the table. She was good but service was a little slow for the lunch rush on a holiday weekend. The menu was a bit limited. Overall, it wasn't bad and I would go back to give it another try.
Food was very good, we were there for an early lunch so it was very quiet but was getting much busier as we were leaving so I can't say how loud it gets later in the day.
Service was quick and polite, everything was very clean, staff all wore masks.
Lobster bisque was to die for!
Ordered the rockfish and scallops. Everything was delicious though very disproportioned. Two huge filets of rockfish were on the plate against my measly three scallops. Delicious but obviously the guest with scallops was finished eating long before the other.
Food was excellent and server handled table of 9 with separate tickets flawlessly
