Fabulous server. Amazing food.
My wife and I had heard little about Garrison when we made reservations for dinner. We hoped for something very good, what we received from the chefs and staff at Garrison was excellent.
The atmosphere was comfortable with pleasant music and conversations filling the air, allowing us to easily talk with one another and share our time together. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and engaging and we felt well cared for, nothing obtrusive but always timely with respect to checking in on us or bringing our food and drink. The food itself was delicious. The emphasis on open fire grilling and a bit of smokiness came through in the food - it enhanced but did not overwhelm the taste of either the fish or the meat that we had as part of the main courses of our meal.
A cap to the evening came when, just after we had finished our dessert and drink, Eric, the general manager, came to explain that they needed to seat their next guests. We had already settled our bill, but he insisted that he would like to give us a complementary drink at the bar. Our evening was extended and made all the more enjoyable by his generosity and hospitality.
In all, we could not have asked for a better dining experience and evening out.
Enjoyed every moment “from soup to nuts”. Had a delicious old fashioned at the bar outside, the bartenders were entertaining. Our server, Eugene (spelling?) from the Ukraine was professional and friendly, he had a very busy section but handled it well. He had another server helping him out, whose name I didn’t catch but he made me laugh out loud and was clearly an old pro at this gig. The beef tartare was an odd presentation but the flavours were spot on. The branzino was delicate and wonderful, but surprisingly the parsley salad (peppery, lemon, sharp/sweet) that accompanied it blew my tastebuds away! I deducted a star for the shrimp appetizer as it tasted muddy, and the tiramisu dessert as it was grainy and tasted hastily defrosted. However mystery handsome server showed up with truffles and all was well in my world. A throughly enjoyable experience altogether.
First of all our server was as enjoyable attentive as I’ve had at any restaurant in years. Our food was excellent on every level, flavorful beautifully presented appropriate portions etc. Only thing I didn’t like was the restaurant feels like a scaled-back Las Vegas hotel restaurant. I honestly don’t like eating and hotel restaurant and would not of booked this particular one if it were clear on the reservation on open table that it was in the Fairmont. Despite not liking the atmosphere in the large hotel, the food and service was outstanding.
This was hands-down the best food and dining experience overall in memory! The staff was amazing, and the craft cocktails perfectly executed. Really appreciated our server Eugene, who was both a terrific guide to all the food options and a lot of fun.
My husband and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary at Garrison and the service provided by Eugene was absolutely phenomenal. He went above and beyond our expectation. As soon as he heard that it was our 10 year anniversary, he served us complimentary drinks to cheer our milestone and gave us additional take dessert. Through out the course of dinner, he was attentive, but not too much, which gave us time to have our own conversation uninterrupted.
Additionally, all the food we ordered was delicious. We heard the tater tots was a must try, so we did and it did not disappoint. Although it was a little on the pricey side. Our overall experience and food was definitely worth what we paid, for our special occasion.
Good and atmosphere were excellent. The meal and service were both exceptional. I highly recommend giving them a try!
Great food. Some fantastic flavor combinations. Complements to the chef. Our Server offered great service. A bit on the noisy side, but fun decor and great philosophy.

Second time there makes two of the finest dining experiences of our lives. Flavors and textures just fill the mouth and draw out the senses. Lived in New England most of a long life but have never had a better piece of swordfish than here ... moisture and flavor everywhere, smoked trout roe, and I don't know what all else in the sauce. My wife never orders chicken but she thought "Let's see what this chef will do with a chicken?" Unbelievable. Moist, succulent, an actual chicken flavor that was fresh, new and bursting with richness.
We really enjoyed dining at the Garrison. The staff was incredible and food was amazing. Highly recommend sitting at the high table near the kitchen.
Everything was great!!! The waiter was very attentive. They brought out mini sampler appetizers and dessert complimentary from the chef. The food was great. I had the green circle chicken. It was roasted perfectly. My husband has the eye of the rib and it was cooked perfectly. We also got the tater tots which were great but we got so filled up on everything else we barely ate it. Overall I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
One of the finest dining experiences we've ever had. The subtlety of the spicing and herbs in the complimentary quick bites were were greeted with told us immediately that we were in good hands. Really! Those are the exact words I used. It just got fulfilled from there. Each dish engaged every part of the mouth and palate, both in taste and in texture. I'm not knowledgeable about food but I can recognize and experience when I have one.
My wife and I arrived during a torrential downpour but the hostess was very friendly and walked us to the entrance of Garrison. The Garrison hostess then immediately took us to our table. Our waiter appeared a few mins later and was very friendly.
We ordered some cremant and a few mins later he came back to say that they were out and the substitution was put as well- he then offered us a wonderful champagne as a replacement without an up charge- that is how to treat a client. We both enjoyed our meal which was innovative and cooked to perfection. The drinks were a bit slow but they think that’s because they had to go out of the restaurant to the lobby bar to get them- kudos to the bartender because they were expertly mixed.
The room is rather cavernous with high ceilings which creates a very loud atmosphere but besides that, it was the best meal we had while visiting downtown Austin.
Was a good experience overall. Food was a bit overpriced and not as I expected. Plating was gorgeous and food was served quickly.
Celebrities my birthday here and it was great!

Physical layout of the entire area was outstanding.. The bar area was surrounded by a pastry, dessert area, and a pizza area, and your dinning is an area by itself.. This coupled by a very welcoming staff made a creat evening

Every bite of food was delicious. The service, presentation, and quality were all what we would expect for the price. The garrison martini was a bit odd, wouldn't recommend that.
Abigail and Eugene (don’t know how to spell his name) where wonderful. The head pastry chef made a lovely dessert for our special occasion and came out to present it. The Branzino was spectacular.

It’s a steakhouse and all you had was basically two ribeyes! Seafood was the majority of the menu and last I checked we’re not that close to an ocean. I’ve never paid for bread before so that seemed ridiculous but ok. Put filet, beef medallions, maybe a surf and turf, a salmon if you must do seafood galore. At this point would not go back without seeing if the menu had changed or not.
We went there for our anniversary. Few restaurants in the US have this type of outstanding service. Not only the food is amazing, but the staff is very friendly and know all the protocols of dinning. Will come back definitely!
I cannot say enough good things about our experience. David was our server, and he went above and beyond to make sure that everything was perfect for our dining experience. The food was AMAZING - the Branzino may have been the best fish I have ever had. We are already planning out next trip back to sample more of their delicious menu.
Fantastic experience! Good delicious, service incredible. Th E only issue I had was the music. Since the pop up was in another restaurant the music didn’t match the vibe.
The food was terrible. I really wanted to enjoy it. They hadn’t been open since March 2020 so maybe the kitchen was out of practice..idk..but for what we spent the food should have been spectacular. The service was great and their wine list was pretty good!

Awesome experience for the Valentines tasting menu. The wine pairing was so yummy and it was super fun to try all the different foods.
My wife and I had dinner here Valentine’s Day weekend. They were so accommodating, moved our reservation up an hour with no problems or hassle. Amazing and unique food paired with incredible wine. Service was beyond amazing. My wife loves wine, and I’m a beer guy. They have a beer that I love but in a different part of the hotel, not in this particular restaurant. Chase and Jason our waiters, had this particular beer brought from the other restaurant, so that I could enjoy it. The food was incredible, so many unique dishes that you typically don’t order, just amazing.
They did an incredible job being safe during the pandemic. Place was dimly lit and not super loud. Highly recommend this place, and not just for special occasions.
