Garfish - Manly
with a view to savour.
Located in Manly Harbour with a view over Manly Wharf and only a short stroll from the ferry terminal, Garfish Manly occupies an enviable position perfectly suited to enjoying Australia’s best seafood and steaks.
Expensive, great desserts and cocktails. Seafood nicely presented average taste.
We had lunch here on the long weekend Sunday. First time visiting. Very impressed - service was attentive without being overbearing. Food was also very good. I had the raviolo for starters and barramundi for mains. Both were well priced and tasty.
We also had a great seat indoors overlooking Manly wharf.
Great place for a lunch with friends. The fish and prawn curry is beautiful.
My wife and I went there for lunch on Saturday for our wedding anniversary. The food was exceptional and the snapper pie has to be the best in the world! The reason why I gave 3 starts for the service was: a) more staff needed; we were kept waiting before someone took our drinks order and then food for some time as the place was packed, and b) we were annoyed that when my wife ordered her lunch (snapper pie) she was asked what she wanted for her side, but was not told there was a charge for this: 'what would you like for your side?' was the question, which is very different from 'would you like a side dish?' We knew we had to pay extra for sides, no problem there, but the waitress presented it as if the side was included. I queried this when we were paying and it was not taken off the bill-- this is poor customer relations.
Service is good. food and wine pricy. average overall value for money
The most reliable local restaurantanly has. Always fresh. Always delicious. The staff are always amazing and really well informed and educated about all on offer. Terrific.
Pleasant and friendly staff and a great vista but still too noisey - mainly because there are too many tables crammed into the venue.
Food was great but our waitress disappeared on us before desert.
As we walked out we past the front desk staff none of them bothered to say thanks, farewell or ask us about our experience. Small issue but something I have become accustomed to at Garfish.
Wonder what has changed?
Everything from the food, to the service, to the views was outstanding. Thank you for helping to make Mum's birthday a wonderful day/experience ...
Never been disappointed at Garfish. Food, service excellent ., and reliable for dietary requirements.
Amazing desserts, Best I've had. Friendly staff and good atmosphere.
Great location. You can take the Manly ferry and then a short walk to the restaurant. It has a lovely view. The food is really good and not over priced. The staff are attentive and know their menu well. I highly recommend this restaurant
Sensational service, fabulous food, wonderful ambience. It was our first visit to Garfish and we'll definitely go again.
Always great food! Service is always good too. Great big bar area to move to once lunch or dinner is finished. Never too noisy for a good catch up with friends. Highly recommend Garfish!!
Another brilliant lunch at this consistently top class restaurant. Every course was top notch and the lime and lemongrass panda cottage was to die for.
The food was fantastic, amazing flavours and quality produce. We ordered the kingfish sashimi, and scallops with pork belly for entrees. Both were delicious. Our mains were equally as good - wood fired bugs and eye fillet. When I asked about gluten free options, the staff were very good at letting me know my options and confirming with the chef items that could be done GF. A very enjoyable dining experience overall. Will definitely go back next time we’re in Sydney!
Excellent as usual. Staff wonderful and our request for a window table was met. Still our favourite Manly restaurant
As part of our Sydney trip (from Melb) I took my dad & his visiting Italian siblings to Garfish at Manly for lunch and we all enjoyed a truly special meal overlooking the water. The staff were excellent, always around when needed but not intrusive. We were all particularly taken with the friendly young waiter from Naples who helped us with our menu choices. Everyone was happy with the delicious food, wine and ambience. I will definitely return one day and happily recommend this restaurant to others.
Service was not up to it's usual standard on this occasion. We were kept waiting for a long time to place our order. Disappointed as have always been a huge fan of this restaurant.
Great food, professional staff and first class service.
Yummy food and great service. Friendly staff. Lovely water view outlook. BYO, which is a bonus.
Have been to Garfish at least half a dozen times... The food is usually good as is the service. However it seems like you should avoid going at times like Easter or Mothers day... As they struggle to maintain the service... We were shoved onto a table wedged against a column and the mains were very slow to arrive with the sides not arriving for another 5 minutes and only lukewarm. Avoid busy times and you will hopefully have a better experience
We had an excellent dinner on Good Friday and look forward to our next visit to Garfish Manly. We were very regular customers at Kirribilli and are sorry it has closed. We have dined at Crows Nest but have enjoyed at least 6 meals at Manly and prefer this location and much better service!
Every dish served just divine. Fave was the kingfish sashimi. The kids were welcomed and looked after too. Will be back next time we visit Manly.
The food was delicious, wine incredible and the best Margarita in Town
Garfish up to its normal high standard.
Avoid Saturday nights if you can as it is their busiest and noisiest night
Garfish is an annual dinner for myself and my friend. The food and service is always outstanding. I might suggest some stronger lighting on a couple of the centre 2 people tables as us oldies found it hard to read the menu.
The setting is beautiful on a lovely sunny day.
My Balmain bugs were disappointing they were over- cooked and dry.
Everyone else’s food was good however the description of the dishes needed to be clearer as there was cream in one of the entrees and one of the customers was dairy intolerant.
There was a very large service charge on a Sunday as well
Lovely and we got the best table which was very kind.
Spoiled a little as salad and wine was forgotten, and then slow to arrive (no apology).
Gave us the bill but no eftpos machine and we ended up standing at counter waiting for staff.
Really, it was very nice but cant give that 5th star as need it to be faultless (even on a busy Sunday lunch service)
With attentive service throughout the evening, in an unhurried way innovative, tasty and attractive food was provided. The drinks service was again attentive and efficient. All in all the experience was friendly, efficient and helpful which resulted in a wonderful special evening.
Extensive menu and food is great. The monkfish and mash is wonderful. Service is very attentive. We highly recommend it.
Undoubtably the finest seafood restaurant on the North Shore, has been eating there for many many years and have never had a bad meal and the service is always exceptional!
Lovely venue; excellent and attentive (but not intrusive) staff; elegant, but yet informal ambience, very good food, excellent wine list, but with possibility of BYO. Looking forward to a return visit. Only negative (nothing to do with the restaurant) was outrageous charge ($43j for parking in a Northern Beaches Council carpark for just over 5 hours. My advice is to try to find parking on one of the side streets off the Esplanade
Outstanding as always. Service is great and food brilliant. The Hiramasa Kingfish is to die for, as to the Prawn and Fish Curry.
BYO makes it just to good!
Well worth it! The seafood is great but don't expect a window seat even if you ask for it!
We always enjoy dining at Garfish and have never been disappointed with our meals or the service. The staff are friendly and efficient; every table has a view of the Harbour; the ambience is good and - all in all - it is hard to beat this restaurant. 2 hour free parking is available in Wentworth Street car park and it is only a short walk from there.
Had a lovely lunch and the staff were very friendly. Wine was super expensive and, we thought, a bit excessive. My fish was slightly over cooked but delicious nevertheless. The salt and pepper squid was, as always, fabulous.
We went here at the end of an extended cruise holiday and was a lovely way to celebrate.
The fish dishes were superb and the deserts amazing, with the wine we chose being very good value and quality.
It's a lovely restaurant with good views and we could tell from the clientele that it gets repeat visits.
Perhaps one day we will return.
A perfect setting for casual Sunday lunch with her indoors !!
Great service and delicious food! Plus a great location.
