Garde East at Vineyard Haven Marina is an award-winning beachfront restaurant oasis on Martha’s Vineyard, located in quaint Vineyard Haven, just steps from the town’s ferry terminal.

The restaurant features the Island’s bounty from both sea and land, inspired by refined, classic techniques from French cuisine. The setting at Garde East is truly unique offering food and beverage service in a nautical dining room, outdoor decks and courtyard, or on the property’s private beach overlooking boats in Vineyard Haven Marina.

Garde East is open for dinner service Memorial Day Weekend (5/25-5/27).
Dinner service Tuesdays-Sundays will begin on 5/27.
Lunch and Docktail service Fridays-Sundays will begin on 6/06.
Garde East will be open 7 days a week for the season beginning on 6/16.

    On a beautiful MV day the views and ambiance of GE are wonderful! Service was attentive and positive. Issue with wine service was fixed. Mussels are very good and lobster burratta creative. Artic Char best option on the menu.

    Service was top notch. Very detail oriented and waiter asked all the right questions. Was not rushed at all even though a busy night and we had prime outside seating on the top deck. Food was amazing. Bar tender made great mocktails for us and the kids. Would highly recommend as food and service was TOP notch.

    this was my second time visiting and it just as special as my first! geila and klaudio were top tier servers!! geila especially went above and beyond to make my birthday dinner a special experience. such nice staff all around and great food with a beautiful view!

    A wonderful evening. The food was perfect and in great portions. We really enjoyed the mussels. The manager here is very friendly and our server Grasa did a great job. We were seated on the second floor and had nice views of the water.

    From the moment we showed up at the entrance, the staff was friendly, generous and helpful. The dining room is small, lovely and whitewashed and all tables can see a bit of the harbor view, but the best view is out on the back porch where sea breezes and sounds emanate. The waitress was lovely, without artiface and willing to assist in anyway she could without being intrusive. The local oysters, salad and veggies were very good. Notable were the delicate and delicious seared scallops, presented artfully . The dessert and "by the glass" Russian River Chardonnay were first rate.

    We had the best time here for a group dinner! From the moment we walked in, the experience was top notch. The general manager kindly welcomed us and made sure we were satisfied throughout dinner. The atmosphere is great with beautiful ocean views. Food was outstanding - highly recommend the carrots, oysters, scallops. The wait staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful with wine pairings. We have to give a special shout out to Ari & Geila for being the best! We will definitely be back!!

    Always a phenomenal experience at Garde East. The ambiance is beautiful, with the setting overlooking the harbor. The weather when we dined was not conducive to dining outdoors, but we have sat on the outdoor deck in the past,& it is amazing. The service is wonderful, attentive,& helps with recommendations. The drinks and the food is absolutely amazing. One of my favorite dishes is the beet ricotta gnocchi, although every dish was amazing (lobster cavatalli, scallops, etc). So highly recommend!!

    We spent a day in Martha’s Vineyard for my bachelorette trip and it ended up being really sucky weather; rainy, cold and windy. We showed up to Garde East an hour early for our reservation just to get out of the weather and they already had our table to go and set with beautiful flowers; we were even able to pick a Spotify playlist for the whole restaurant. We had Ari and Mitch as our waiters and had the absolute best time. One of my bridesmaids shoes broke on our walk there and they went and bought her new shoes and then proceeded to return them as they were the wrong size. Then they fixed her shoes with super glue. They even offered to brave the bad weather to take pictures of us on the top deck. The food and drinks were amazing and there was a beautiful view despite the weather. Thank you Ari and Mitch for such a great experience, Garde East was our favorite part of our day on Martha’s Vineyard.

    The staff is what made the experience. The wine manager specialist(?) was so accommodating in helping me find the right wine. The food while delayed arriving to us because of a large party ahead of us was just fine because of the wait staff’s care and concern about our experience. The views were lovely (we were seated on an upper covered balcony with marina views). We will be back.
