The food was great and the service was even greater! I personally recommend the crab cakes and the Mahi Mahi!
We were there to celebrate my birthday and it was delightful. We have been there many times but this time were seated next to a window in a smaller, quieter room. It was perfect. A train went by while we were eating, adding to the ambiance. We highly recommend this restaurant for any and all occasions!
Excellent buffet! Love the atmosphere and service.
Hosted a famly gathering of 13 people on Saturday 23 March. David was the head wait staff serving our table. We had a wonderful evening. Good food, good wine, good guidance from the wait staff and a nice environment for conversation and celebration.
Thank you for being a positive part of the celebration of our son's junior trumpet recital at U of M.
The food quality has deteriorated. My husbands filet was a cheaper cut. My fish was well prepared but had a strong taste of oil (the oil seeped into the fish). The waitresss was great. The ambience is wonderful. More attention needs to be on the food quality
Food and service were outstanding
I always love coming to the Gandy Dancer. The food, service and atmosphere are always great. This was no exception. My only complaint is that the service was too fast. We no sooner finished our appetizer when the salad course was served. And again, as soon as the salad court was done the entree’s were served. A little slower pacing would have been better.
Fresh (marine) seafood in Michigan is a bit of an oxymoron. Regardless of how often they claim to fly it in, it is never the same as what you get when in an oceanfront area. Additionally, fish is often misrepresented at seafood restaurants and I feel that was the case at Gandy (Mahi not really tasting like Mahi). Food was good, but not great and that is likely mainly due to selling seafood that comes from over 1,000 miles away as "fresh".
I have asked for a special request, which was not followed. Also, the food was not seasoned well. Over all, it felt like the food was way too overrated.
Disappointing food, service and management. This used to be a good restaurant.
Our server was grand!
We started with the calamari + lobster bisque and were blown away by the taste and texture! Then we ordered the surf and turf, and the king crab legs they were both FANTASTIC! To finish we got the white chocolate cheese cake and it was to die for! Highly recommend all of it if you can afford to splurge do it here!
We were visiting Michigan on a college tour with our son. We loved the meal. The thing it that the menu doesn’t convey how wonderful the cooking is. I had Parmesan Shrimp. It was really special...and I like that they’re service is attentive but not in your face...Super fun spot.
Excellent food and service! My favorite Ann Arbor restaurant!
GREAT SUNDAY BRUNCH. EXCELLENT TABLE SERVICE AND SELECTION ON THE BUFFET. GOOD VALUE IN A BEAUTIFUL SETTING
Waiter was excellent . Enjoyed the food! Music was good. Enjoyed the train passing by.
Was my first experience with Gandy Dancer and was very impressed. The service was exceptional, food was great and arrived very quickly. I would definitely recommend to friends
Our waitress was a bit brusque but the food was excellent. The bouillabaisse was copious with a tasty broth and the trio of salmon, crab cake, and crispy shrimp also qualified as tasty and copious. The desserts we had were outstanding, in particular the Media Luna (I think that's what it was called ) and the key lime pie.
Celebrating our wedding anniversary and did not expect the wonderful personal touches....specialized menu, complimentary creme brûlée! They really made our evening feel more special!
Our server Brandy did an outstanding job. She was very friendly and very efficient.
Everyone claps when the trains go by, which was a bit much for me, but overall the food and view were fantastic and totally worth a visit!
Took my daughter to the Gandy dancer for her birthday. Service was excellent. Love the lobster bisque. happy hour at the bar is excellent go early and check that out
We went to there for 3rd wedding anniversary and they putted our name on menu which is surprised. Also, they present small desert with free for us. Taste, all order was perfect even I choose unknown menu. We want to come back again.
Great service at an icon of AA. Looking forward to the next time that we get to enjoy the brunch there.
2nd year in a row I’ve gone for my birthday. Wonderful food and service.
Service was professional, attentive, and friendly. Everyone really made us feel welcome.
We have been to a number of buffets with a higher price point that were not markedly superior. Beautifully done cold, baked salmon.
The service from Faith was wonderful. The only downside was the quality of eggs and the lacking options for breakfast food. But I’m not a big sweets person, so that’s more on me since they had a waffle maker plus a desserts table.
Unique & charming atmosphere in a old railway station - by active tracks with trains going by. Good food and friendly service
Lovely place to go for special occasions, but very pricey for what you get. Service is absolutely amazing!!
Fish was undercooked. Had to send it back to be redone.
We had an excellent meal and wonderful service. We were celebrating a birthday and they made it a special event.
Our server was very attentive and informative. We had sea bass and Mahomes mani and both were excellent. Also very good wine list. We sometimes forget how consistently good Gandy Dancer is since it is not right downtown. Will be making it a point to return.
My Ora king salmon was okay, but the service was phenomenal. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a classy night out!
Great place for a birthday dinner with family. Excellent service.
Our 50th anniversary and my son ‘s 24 anniversary. Not even a free desert or Complementary Appetizer. Filet was ok fish dinner was good. Shrimp and scallops were fair. The shrimp (2) were over cooked and tough. The Risotto had room much cheese. However the key lime pie was excellent. I believe that the food experience was not worth the priced paid.
You know that Gordon Ramsay show Kitchen Nightmares where they clean up, update, and re-organize restaurants that haven't updated their menus or cleaned their kitchens in 20 years? Gandy Dancer could be a contestant.
We went for the Sunday brunches. Food was delicious. There was not as much seafood dishes as we expected, but there was a very good variety of dishes. We had a small table next to the windows by the train tracks. Seating was tight and aisles were congested. Server was polite and attentive.
Great food and ambience!
Lived up to my expectations in ALL aspects, food, service, quality and value. The Gandy Dancer has never dissappointed me. Gratzi!
Always an amazing place for dinner
