A delightful respite for date night! We totally enjoyed this unique (for this area) restaurant!
I have been to Gan
Thoroughly enjoyed our first visit. The waiter was enthusiastic about the custom menu, and answered all our questions in an efficient and friendly manner.
Had the tasting menu which was very good. I know it's "chef's choice," but I'd prefer to know exactly what's on the menu before I order. All was great, but there were a lot of rich dishes before the main course arrived.
Great Food! Great Service! We will return!
Great food and service
Interesting menu and varied wine list
We had a fabulous experience at Gander & Ryegrass. The food was absolutely amazing.
We had the "Fancy Meal" along with the "Fancy Pairing". Both well done and a lot of dishes we enjoyed aren't things we would normally order. Service was outstanding.
Amazing variety of both authentic Italian recipes and modern creations. Very attentive staff. Try the testing menu!
Every course was exquisite. Not going to hold back here as serious flavourful bombs exploded in our mouths each time!
Gander & Ryegrass is amazing! Everything from the small plates, to the pasta to the main course was incredible. Our waiter was fantastic from explaining what all of the dishes we were served were, to comping me a free glass of wine because he felt he had gone too long from my request to him bringing it. And I certainly didn't complain. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! Worth ever penny.
I can't describe how amazing our three hour fancy menu dinner was. Thank you. Unforgettable.
We had a wonderful meal. Mike was a very knowledgeable bartender and very accommodating. Loved this place.
Gander and Ryegrass had a great atmosphere that fell short in the food area. Some food locked in flavor while others like the kale and pesto pasta were so different that my husband couldn’t even eat a bite. I definitely expected more from this establishment and we will not be returning.
Traveling through Spokane for a get away weekend. Utilized opentable to find a place to eat. The food and service amazing. Wish we lived closer to be able to visit frequently. Next trip in area Gander and Ryegrass will be on the itinerary.
My wife and I had an incredible dining experience at Gander and Ryegrass. We chose the "fancy menu" with the "fancy wine pairing, " aka the chef's menu. Unbelievable food, such attention to detail, and Chef Peter Froese and staff spoiled us with a few extras along the way. We do not live in Spokane, but whenever we visit Spokane, we will also be visiting Gander and Ryegrass.
Service and ambiance were good, but the food was just alright. Friendly staff and prompt service, but the bread for our ceviche was extremely hard, and the silk hanky pasta was overly pesto-flavored.
Was fun and creative with both food and wine pairings. Something for everyone (bread was fantastic) with a few of the starters pushing limits (goat cheese was a little rough, but may be a preference thing)- but without experimenting, would not get to try new things. Service was great, covid distancing of tables felt safe, and nice atmosphere for a special dinner. Would certainly come back when in Spokane!
The small plates were excellent. Unfortunately no choice for main course.
We came for a friends birthday and decided to get the progressive dinner where we all get the same items and pay more for more courses. It’s so hard because I love this concept and love all the food I get out of Ryegrass. It’s just not worth the cost to do this for the food you get between 5+ people.
It’s probably me, but I just expect more food. It also took almost 3.5 hours to get through the meal. We just didn’t expect that and if it was explained a bit more, our group would have just ordered dinner off the menu. So at the $600+ we dropped for dinner, we went home hungry.
I’ll still come back and I adore the food and ambiance. Something needs to change for the value to the quantity of food.
Very good food!
We ordered the tasting menu and were blown away by the unique dishes and incredible food quality. We also chose the wine pairing menu which all wines were excellent! Our waiter Benjamin went out of his way to highlight the local WA wines when he understood our interest. We were started with the mixed season nut and a flute of a sparkling rose wine. Next we had the variation of carrots and the duck lovage followed with the charred octopus and vegetable salad which where served with a Maryhill Albarino. We then were served two pastas, their silk hankies with a kale pesto and a tortellini and beef bacon which came with a Amity Pinot Noir. The main course was a special that evening of pork tenderloin cauliflower purée. This was paired with a JB Neufeld Cabernet Sauvignon. They ended with a scoop of raspberry sorbet. We were visiting Spokane but would encourage the local community to support this restaurant. From what we found out they have been in business just shy of a year and with the current impact of COVID I am sure they, like many restaurants, are having a tough go of it.
We recently spent an evening here and had a thoroughly good time. The tasting menu is the best way to go and the wine pairings are generous. We will be back again for another special dinner out.
We opted for the “Fancy Meal” and had a great experience. The food and service were outstanding. Thanks!
We have been to Gander and Ryegrass and I never disappoints .Our visits have always been extraordinary, from the very personable wait staff and the terrific food. I would recommend this to anyone looking for wonderful dinning experience. The farm to table is a date night with your palate, it would be worth having every weekend.
Absolutely great meal! Had the tasting menu for 2 and it did not disappoint!
Great place for a dinner experience! If you’re looking for a place to have quality food with great service this is your place.
Incredible experience with the tasting menu and wine pairings! Everything was delicious!
Always great! Place is one of our favorites in Spokane!
We cannot get enough of this place. We have gone out to eat only three times since February and this was so beyond expectations and better by far than the other two (very nice and expensive) places we’ve been two since the whole pandemic began. The food is just incredible. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is lovely. PLEASE stay in business!!
My girlfriend and I sat outside, so the ambiance and noise levels for the restaurant are not accurately reflected. Outside seating is along the sidewalk and street, so it is a bit busy and noisy, but it was to be expected and not a problem. The quality and flavor of the food was phenomenal and the service was spot on. We definitely recommend. Cheers
One of the nicest restaurants around for date or any kind of special events! Highly suggest it. Go during the dinner it’s even better!!!
We really enjoyed the tasting menu. The food was amazing and the prices were quite reasonable. (I described it as Seattle quality without the Seattle prices.). Our server was awesome. We felt that they were careful in the age of COVID-19–greeted folks at the front door but required a mask to enter. Also some nice outdoor seating. Did I mention how great the food was? My husband can’t stop talking about the pork loin but for me, the salads and pasta were the standout dishes. I would gladly go back the next time I am in Spokane. Great food, nice ambiance, amazing service and delicious cocktails. All around winner.
I went to Gander & Ryegrass for my Anniversary...i Proposed... He said yes... The food was amazing... The cocktails were amazing...it was a memorable night!
Beautiful natural light fills the space and makes our lunch bright and cheery. Then the food and drink make you forget the time and focus on celebration of local ingredients, talented chefs, brilliant bartenders, and your dear friends at the table. We were seated quickly, at a spotless table by a masked server. We appreciated their commitment to the safest dining possible and we wore our masks at all times we were not seated at our table. We enjoyed bubbles and two lovely salads - octopus salad and a spring vegetable salad with the nicest green beans and radishes. Then the main dishes - hot porchetta with peppers and pickled pear and I had tagliatelle with mushroom sugo, fresh peas, and cured egg yolk. Plating was perfect. Everything tasted amazing. Wine pairings were on point. A lovely light dessert of amaro gelee, panna cotta, and elderflower and pistachio finished our meal. We even got to meet the chef-owner. A fantastic lunch experience. We will return as soon as we can.
The food was really good. I tried things I've never tried before
Hands down one of our favorite restaurants we have discovered on our family road trip this summer!!
Food was good. Went there expecting a menu advertised on facebook but then found out when we got there that the menu was only offered after 4pm, FB didn't indicate that. Food was good. Only one server working so service was a bit slow.
What a lovely place. The food was delicious and the service outstanding. We also loved the passion for craft cocktails. They use local and regional distilleries and it shows. The freshly made pasta was a wonderful treat. The duck was perfectly cooked and all the spring veggies were on point. We will definitely go again.
One of the best dinners I’ve had in Spokane. Beautiful space, great cocktails, and absolutely fantastic, thoughtful food. Highly recommend.
