Gander an American Grill

Best brunch experience I have ever had. I have already recommended Gander brunch to everyone. Amazing food!

It was our first time there and we really enjoyed ourselves! I recommend making reservations because they were really busy on a Friday night around 6 pm and our server said it was a typical Friday.

Our server was Anna and she was fantastic! She made us feel really special and I will definitely ask for her again.

We started off with a variety of appetizers. Goat cheese fritters, dip trio, fried green tomatoes, and golden grit cakes. The goat cheese fritters came with a fantastic chili sauce. If you like goat cheese you will like them. The dip trio was good but nothing special. The salsa was exceptional though and it’s house made. The fried green tomatoes are the best I have ever had. Crispy and perfect. The golden grit cakes are not what I imagined and it’s actually hard to describe. I liked it for being different.

I had the Kobe Beef drunken burger with a sweet potato and my husband had the shrimp and grits. Both were good and I can’t wait to try the brunch.

Fantastic place!

Took a work group from out of town to Gander Thursday night. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Food and drinks arrived quickly. A couple of us ordered the 50th State cocktail. Awesome!

We had a party of 12 and our server was great! Food and drinks were timely, and delicious!

It was very good. Thought the music was a little too loud to carry on conversations, since there were so many of us.

We were pleasantly surprised to learn there was a lunch buffet. It was stocked often and nothing was cold! The variety of lunch vs. brunch items was also varied and good. The price point was just right! We will definitely go for lunch again and hopefully the musician is feeling better.

Second try for Gander. Tons of friends that love the place. Maybe I just order the wrong thing but I am 0 for 2 here.

Another experience at Gander that was far under par. Friends requested meeting there for supper, so we decided perhaps another try would be good. Nope. We were very basic this time on food, hoping perhaps the basics would be ok. The fried chicken tenders had grease in the meat... pretty much inedible. My wife’s steak sandwich literally was inedible. She took one bite and that was it.

There are plenty of other local options. We wont be back and will share this with others in hopes that they also select other establishments where the food is decent.

We've been to Gander multiple times and it has always been great! They've got something for everyone, my kids love it and so do we. Hot Brown, fish tacos, steaks, fried green tomatoes are some of our go to's.

This was my second time going. Great brunch buffet. Variety of food options and made to order menu is awesome!

Normally our meals and the service are great, however this particular night the service was not good. One of the salads came out on time but the second came very late. And the fried fish was just not good. Water glass was empty for a long time as well. Wanted condiments for the food but were half way through our meal before the waitress came by to refill drinks and get the condiment request. Overall a very off night from our previous experiences.

The meatloaf dinner was excellent except all the food could’ve been hotter.

Fantastic! Seated as soon as we arrived and close to the door as requested because of my 91 and 89-yr-old parents. Katelyne was very attentive and all courses were delivered well-timed. Food was great as usual.

Our server was adorable! Definitely NOT a place to order a steak and green beans. Burger was good! Reminded us of a place with a nicer menu but a cafeteria type seating etc..

Great place to visit after church. The buffet is priced reasonably and you can order from the breakfast menu which is included in the buffet price. The live jazz is a great touch.

The food was delicious, however the service was mediocre at best. We were there at 4:30 on a Saturday, so I don't know if it was at a time that they didn't have a full wait staff. I felt like the server we had was waiting on everyone in the restaurant. We had to go to the hostess desk to ask for our check. We were never asked if we needed anything additional, refills, etc. However, the food and cocktails were so good, I will definitely give it another chance.

Quality of food and service were excellent. It's truly a buffet featuring breakfast and lunch entrees but you can have your server bring omelettes, eggs Benedict, crepes, banana foster. Bloody Mary was one of the best we ever had. They had live jazz playing but it didn't overwhelm our conversation. Everyone in our party enjoyed the food.

Not a bad place to eat. Not very elegant but overall good service and food.

My food was not good at all and I sent it back. The server did not come back to check on us by the time we finally got someone’s attention my companion had finished his meal so the manager did take cost of my meal off of our ticket.

Wonderful meals as always!

Hubby and I had dinner at the bar and watched the basketball game on the tv. The server was friendly, food was good.

Unfortunately there was a large party which took the attention of the kitchen and wait staff. This has happened once before for us there. Food was okay but certainly was not very warm for having to wait so long to get it. Will give it a while before we go back again.

The restaurant looks very ordinary. The seating is not crowded. The brunch food is very good and worth the money. The service is outstanding. With very good food and outstanding staff, it is a place that is worth going back again and again. The omelet was perfect!

Service was great, but they ran out of gravy for my wife’s meal and another of our party, so they had to choose another item from menu. Then when my Fish n chips were served, I had to wait on my Chips/Fries for 6 minutes because they were short on chips/fries! With all this mess, we were there for a long time!!! One of our guest says d he will never return because they ran out of gravy! But we will, we can accept some problems.

This was our second visit to the restaurant , after a great 1st visit a couple of weeks ago. My Wife ordered the Prime Rib to be cooked medium, and it was served rare. I ordered the potato soup, and received a baked potato. Needless to say, we were disappointed with the mistakes that were made. Over all, Gander seems to be a wonderful restaurant, with a great menu, so we are definitely willing to try again in the future in hopes that our experience improves.

Great Sunday brunch and you can't beat the price. Both breakfast and lunch options, everything was delicious! Loved the mimosa as well!

Birthday dinner, great food and great service

I picked this restaurant for a group of us nurses celebrating the holiday season and based it on the reviews. I always read reviews before trying something new. I have to say all the reviews about the great food, etc are very true. There were 8 of us and a variety of dishes and everyone said they were great. The service was good. I read in other reviews that the tables were close but I didn’t find that to be true, there was plenty of room between tables and it wasn’t noisy at all. Will definitely be going back!
