Would love to at least be able to comment on the food but unfortunately I didn’t even get to that portion of my night with this place. Showed up on time for my 7pm reservation and knew I was in for it when reservations from 6:15 were still waiting for a table. Waited for 15 mins to simply check in for my reservation while the host frantically ran in and out of the restaurant and ignored everyone waiting to check in for their reservations. We finally got sat down and then waited for a solid 20 mins for someone to at least acknowledge we were there...that moment never came. After the 20 min wait I walked back inside and told the host we hadn’t had anyone come to our table yet and instead of resolving the issue, he told me “this is why I didn’t want to sit you down right away, I knew no one would be able to come to your table.” What’s the point of making a reservation? To be told that I’m basically an inconvenience for showing up on time for my reservation was unreal. We decided to walk out after that and since it was a Friday night in old town during a pandemic, we weren’t able to make a reservation anywhere else and had to scrap our date night all together.
As always — best food and service we could ever ask for. New menu is fantastic.
The pasta and pizza were amazing! Highly recommend the farfalle! The staff was super friendly with great service.
Not handicapped accessible and they do not alter any food choices.
I can never decide which pizza to go with so it’s a great spot to go with friends to try a few. We were seated in the tented area which was fantastic! Being able to be outside, but still warm and cozy is going to make Gallucci’s my go to as the turns colder. From the food to the service, I always have a great experience.
Food was really good. The service was a bit much...we had a main server as well as a few other people who kept checking on us. It felt like we had someone at our table every two minutes which was a bit excessive, especially since we needed to put on our masks every time someone came by. The music was also really loud and kind of club-y which didn't really fit the vibe. BUT the food was great and our main server was very nice - it's worth checking out.
It was an awesome experience. Wine & food was excellent! I would go back 10x over, and I’m excited to have Gallucci located just down the street!
The pizza and service here was outstanding!! Such a fun vibe and $30 wine deals on Tuesdays! Would definitely go back to this spot!
The staff did a great job trying to make sure everyone was taken care of!
Great food and super cute (and heated) outdoor space! The vodka pasta was fantastic.
Great food, terrible service. Would recommend carry-out dining only.
Sat outside, service was great and the food was great.
Everything was perfection❤️
Food was amazing , service was excellent best pizza I have had since being in Italy
Excellent service, food and ambiance! A true Italian establishment in Chicago reminiscent of Italy.
Excellent gluten-free pizza!
5 star experience all around. After dining at many Neapolitan style pizzerias in Chicago, this was by far the very best we’ve had and the closest to what you would eat in Naples, Italy. Everything was absolutely incredible- from the food to the staff and social distancing was reflected throughout the entire restaurant and patio. Our kids shared the baked gnocchi, my husband had the n’duja pizza and I ordered their award winning pizza. Everything we had, I HIGHLY recommend. We will be back again soon!
I had been looking forward to trying Gallucci and it was one of the worst restaurants I’ve been to in Chicago. The service was horrible. Food was extremely mediocre.
Food wine & service was great !
Best Neapolitan pizza in Old Town/Gold Coast/Streeterville. Tagliatelle was a bit over cooked but the sauce was savory and meaty. Highly recommend B&B salad. The beets with pistachio vinaigrette on fresh burrata makes a harmonious flavor. Patio dining is great but they will need to lay a floor to flatten the uneven sloped ground. This made the overall dining experience stressful, as we held onto all the dishes to prevent from sliding downward, and sharing was not ideal.
We loved the pizza and desserts were delicious. Real Napolese food.
We loved the vibe and the food was fantastic. Great wine list and very authentic Neapolitan pizza.
Staff was very attentive; recd complimentary sparkling
wine. We had salad that was very good and the pizza was outstanding...we’ll go back!!!
At this point we wish Gianni would be our personal chef. How good is fantastic, each dish batter than the last, and the cocktails superb. I will continue to come back weekly. It’s the best place i can find in the area by far
Pizza was just okay, service was slow and waitress seemed like she needed more help
Had a reservation at 8, wasn’t seated until 8:30. Pizza menu was subpar and when it came it was like raw dough in the middle... you had to fold it over to keep it together. Flavors weren’t complex. The decor and vibe are far too club like and lacks warmth and charm. Music felt like you were in Vegas.
Overall wish Dinottos was still there.
The food at Gallucci was great, but service was rough. We had a 6pm reservation for 2 and were seated closer to 6:30, with only one update from the hostess who otherwise avoided eye contact with us for 30 minutes. This was also for my sister's birthday, which I noted in the reservation, and they didn't acknowledge the occasion at all.
I asked for no meat on half of a pizza since I'm a vegetarian, which isn't typically hard for pizza restaurants to handle, but the server seemed taken aback and said she'd have to check with the chef first; after several minutes, she came back and made a big deal about how the chef was going to make an exception for me. My second drink took ten minutes to come and I had to remind a waiter. Hopefully it gets better as the staff get their feet under them.
Mediocre food and service. Disappointing
We gave Gallucci a try before a show at 2nd City and were very glad we did. Started with the Frittura di Pesce-delish. The batter was light and the seafood cooked perfectly. On to the B & B salad which features my favorite ingredient-burrata. Four of us shared two pizzas, a white and a red, Biancalana and Calabrese-both fantastic. Loved that the owner stopped by the table. Fun to see a chef so excited and proud of his new restaurant. The service was a little too much, our plates were whisked away almost before we were finished with our food. Great, buzzy atmosphere and loved the oversized painted murals. We will be back for sure!
Gallucci is new and I think still working out the kinks. We ordered 2 appetizers and two pizzas. First the very nice sized and tasty salad came. While still eating the salad, both pizza's came. Tables are small, so not much room for 2 pizza's and a salad. Midway through pizza's, Calamari came. Salad and Calamari should have been served at the same time. Pizza's take 2 minutes to cook and this was 6pm and restaurant 1/3 full, so this timing isn't really ok. We were back in the car at 6:19. Again, Gallucci is only a week old, so I write this off as just working out the kinks. This space had been Dinotto, so they are probably still getting used to the Dinotto pizza oven - pizza's were good tasting, but maybe cooked a little too quickly or with a tiny bit too much sauce as the slices have a very moist center. However, we ate every bit. I eat at Coal Fire whenever I am near the Ogden place, so understand cooking pizza's very quickly, but Gallucci needs a little bit of work still.
This is my favorite Neapolitan pizzeria in Chicago! All of the items are delicious and they have something for everyone. The restaurant is decorated beautifully and has a great atmosphere! The staff is very friendly and the owner goes around to each table to make sure everyone is happy and feels welcomed! It is a must try !
Incredible atmosphere. Unique artwork around the restaurant that made it feel really edgy yet retained a classic Italian vibe. The food was delicious. Portions are the perfect size - they don’t overload you with pasta but also the dishes can easily be shared. Everything tasted like so much thought had been put into the flavor crafting. The pizzaiolo definitely knows what he’s doing. Will be back!
Authentic napoletana cuisine.
The food is amazing! There’s a unique pizza for everyone’s preferences. The owner suggested a great wine we’ve never had. Overall a fun, casual, hip atmosphere.
Finally an authentic amazing pizzeria and restaurant in Chicago. This will be a go to!!!! The owner Gianni is very nice. We love Eric the bartender. Friendly and fun. Fabrizio made our pizzas perfectly. Love the variety.
Also the drinks were cools spins on classic cocktails with Italian Spirts. The wines were so cool, great regions like Ischia and mount etna etc!
Amazing flavor probably the best I’ve had for that style of pizza. We also got a bolaganese that was dynamite. Very friendly and informative staff. 5/5 will try again.
Good wine options by the glass, pizza was delicious. Had the arugula salad. A bit too acidic. Overall, happy to have another option in Old Town. For us the choice of music was way off the mark. Decide what you want to be. It’s a restaurant. Not late nite club.
I’ve wanted to check this place out since I heard they were opening. The owner has won multiple championships so I knew the pizza would be traditional and delicious.
My family and I ordered a ton of pizzas, some apps and a pasta dish. Everything was delicious and food came out fast!
We will DEFINITELY be back to Gallucci soon!
