My wife, a friend and I ate dinner at Gallo Nero following a business meeting in NYC. This was the first time we had dined at this Hell's Kitchen eatery and we will definitely return. It is a cozy restaurant with a nice Italian menu and wine list. We each had a different dish and each one was tasty and nicely presented. Staff were friendly and attentive to our needs.

It was a great dining experience from honoring our reservation actually took us about 45 minutes earlier to the last bite except for the host's comment at end of dinner when we were just about to leave and he came to our table and asked us to leave because he had people waiting. I had just paid and was waiting for my husband to return and that actually soured me a bit to this place. All else was great except for that one moment. It should not have happened.

Been many times but not for about a year. Chicken was like shoe leather. Practically inedible. Will have to reconsider whether to give in another try before writing off like so many mediocre theater district restaurants. Very disappointing given how much we’ve enjoyed in the past.

Fine—the people who worked there were so lovely.
We came for lunch during the week—I was a little concerned about the quality since the price was so low on the website but decided to try it anyway. It served the purpose of eating but honestly wasn’t very good — I am not picky or complaining.

A lovely spot. Aside from smaller portion of ravioli (only 5), food was delicious. Service and wine were great. We will definitely return.

Delicious food, good service, and a convenient location for the theatre. Come for the food and the bistro ambience. The table are very small and close together, so don't plan on intimate conversation during your meal.

I enjoyed the meal a lot. Very satisfied for what was served with this price. The only shortcoming would be the portion of food served. It is nice to have a lot in your plate but I feel so bad not finishing such food that I forced myself to eat a little more than I could and that was a suffer. But overall, I like this place. I would go again if seeing broadway shows. We ordered lamb shanks and mushroom Risotto, both taste great! I especially loved the veggie part of my lamb dish. The cranberries( I believe?? Not sure) are so refreshing.

authentic Italian, with homemade pastas and a great burrata appetizer; friendly service, too; make a reservation, very popular and close to the theaters

The food was very good. The one negative thing that I would say is that I felt rushed. I still had a bite of my appetizer on my fork, and he took the plate, and served the entree'

This was our 3rd trip to the restaurant and this time the food really stood out! My cousin couldn't stop raving about the meatball appetizer which SHE said were better than her recipe. She almost ordered them again for dessert. Turns out there was a new chef in the kitchen. She tried to get the recipe but no luck. Our waiter was very attentive; we didn't have to call him over once.

It is now our go-to restaurant whenever we are going to the theatre.

Me and my friend bought a $29 For A Bottomless Brunch For Two (a $76 Value) voucher from Pulsd. Although we did not have a $76 value meals, they automatically charged us tax on $76 and added (mandatory?) 20% tip on the same amount. We ended up paying a lot more than we would without the voucher. I used a lot of Pulsd and other vouchers for restaurants and never experienced anything similar. Otherwise, the food is good, nothing special.

A nice selection of hand made pasta dishes. Gallo Nero is consistently good. The service tends to be a little blasé, but I think if you were in a rush to get to the theatre they would try to accommodate.

It was a very good restaurant. We got our money’s worth . It was very noisy as there was a birthday celebration.. in the bill , they helped themselves putting an 18% tip - which is for a party of at least 6 people . We were only 4 . They gave us a slice of a deep chocolate cake .. it was very good bec our food. We’re a long wait
