   While the location was good with plenty of outdoor seating, we chose to eat inside. The first table they put us at was too small for two people, the second was a booth with plenty of room but the movement of people around our table was distracting. They need to work on their indoor seating arrangement! The food was okay, but the wine was better. We both ordered a shell fish pasta dish that was very salty and not particularly satisfying. However, the pinot was very nice.

   We've been to Galliano several times, but this was our first visit in about a year. Galliano is a neighborhood gem but I wouldn't consider it a "destination restaurant". The restaurant is physically attractive with very comfortable indoor seating (including a few booths) and a humming bar with multiple flat-screen TVs. The patio out front curls around the side of the restaurant--so there is ample outdoor seating--with each table having a dedicated umbrella. The jazzy and standards music can be heard indoors and outdoors (the patio has its own speakers). The weather was really nice so the restaurant had the "indoor-outdoor" setup in place for the dining room. They were reasonably busy for an early Wednesday evening but we were seated promptly. Our server, Carlos, was really special. He had a great sense of humor, was very attentive during the entire meal, and accommodated our occasional "reminder requests" with good cheer. The bar provides very generous pours, always a plus. Our martinis came with blue cheese olives (the best!) that were obviously stuffed in house. One of our party ordered the meatball appetizer, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Nice presentation: three healthy meatballs on a bed of light marinara sauce, topped with fresh Parmesan and herbs, served with warm baguette toasts. For entrées, my wife and I enjoyed entrée salads topped with grilled salmon. The salmon was perfectly cooked; the vinaigrette dressings were a little bland due to the high EVOO : vinegar ratio. One friend ordered the chicken marsala, which she liked a lot, leaving some serious leftovers that she planned to hand off to your college-aged son for finishing the job. Our other friend ordered one of the specials: a big seafood medley that included a nice-sized lobster tail, shrimp, and clams (there may have been more) over pasta in a pomodoro sauce. He loved it. Overall our experience was delightful. Galliano is a fine member of the Maple Lawn restaurant community.

   Want to visit Little Italy, go no further!! Food is amazing. Had the Fettuccine Meditareneo. The shrimp & scallops were huge. Dish was very tasty. Finished w/ an affogato which was great. I may just become a regular.

   All of us enjoyed our dinner and desserts, but it was a bit hard to hear each other because of the noise level in the restaurant. They had a live musician, and once the restaurant began to fill up it was difficult to hear each other at the table.

   Not a good destination on Mother’s Day. Makes more sense now why we could get reservations at what is an otherwise good restaurant. Very limited Mother’s Day brunch menu given to us, while other tables around us were getting the typical full brunch menu. We were told they weren’t supposed to be handed out, which happens, but a little jacked up. All dishes on the limited menu were egg-centric - no french toast, waffles, pancakes, parfaits, etc. Though we had already ordered before we noticed the full menu being handed out, I did end up flagging down the waitress and ordered some french toast as a side for my wife and daughter. So, no real worries at this point, just some annoyances. Mimosas were straight up OJ. When the food came out, the biscuits were dry with no butter or jam on the table. No syrup for the french toast. Eggs were somehow burnt on every main dish we ordered. And, my favorite part, they served a full cup of marinara with two of our dishes. No butter, jam, or syrup, but marinara sauce for our breakfast dishes. Waitress was busy (and I blame her zero), so we ate what we could muster to eat, paid and left. Really, really weak showing on a day you’d want to impress. Decent place, horrible experience.

    Would not recommend going on a weekend night. Kitchen was very backed up and our server wasn’t very attentive. Had to flag down busser to get additional wine and bread between appetizer and entree. Food was very very good though.

    We had a reservation for Saturday evening and were promptly seated. This is a red-sauced Italian restaurant that serves generous portions of food at reasonable prices in an attractive space. The food (side caesar, chicken parm and gelato) was good and service was attentive. We will return.

    We went for dinner at 6:00 on a Sunday and we’re pleasantly surprised by how busy it was. Service and food have always been good and tonight was no exception. Alex, our outstanding server, was very pleasant and professional. Our appetizers of Caesar salad and crab bisque were delicious, the soup having large lumps on crabmeat and the salad large enough to take some home. Our main courses of salmon piccata and chicken parm were outstanding and large enough to enjoy another evening. We were too full for dessert although I definitely intend to save room for something sweet the next time we go, and there definitely will be a next time. The restaurant ambience is very pleasant and the tv’s in the bar area are not so loud as to detract from conversations at nearby tables.

    Great seafood and service. Had to ask to find out restaurant was out of my first choice of Italian red wine, early on a Saturday night? It’s an Italian restaurant. Very loud in the dining area.

    Food and service were outstanding. Veal and seafood dishes were served hot. Good wine list. Live music on weekends can be loud for some people and affect conversations. Once the volume was adjusted, it was perfect.

    The table for two is very undersized. It made the dining experience feel very uncomfortable especially since it was located next to a high traffic aisle where wait staff almost collided with us several times. The uncomfortable size of the table and it’s location influenced us to hurry through our meals.

    Greeting was good. Table for four was small. Floor was slippery - a slip and fall waiting to happen. Server was poor. Hovered like a vulture, without doing much. Three of us ordered salads. One ordered soup. Salads came after long wait, but no soup. Soup finally delivered after another 10 minutes, after an inquiry to the manager. To her credit, she comped the soup. Food was adequate. Water glasses never refilled. Bring your reading glasses as menu print is tiny. Server attempted to take order on a digital device. That was an ordeal. All in all, a mediocre dining experience.     There was live music when we arrived so our request to not sit by it was granted. When we arrived at 5:45 the place was not very crowded but an hour later it was packed and the noise level rose a lot. I could still hear my table mate so it was ok. Food and service were good.     Kat, our server, was excellent. The lettuga (sp) salads for our friends, we’re great. The panzanella salad my husband and I had was slightly lacking. We expected the tomatoes to be bland for the time of the year, but they were okay. The dressing needed a bit a salt, and the bread used was processed croutons, when their own bread, torn up, would have been delightful. Our entrees were excellent. Eggplant parm and arrabatica (sp) for our friends, and salmon piccata and linguine Michelangelo without scallops for me. The mussels, clams, shrimp, and crab were fresh and sweet, and not overcooked. The light marinara was exquisite. One of the best I’ve ever had. An addition of chicken piccata to the menu might be nice. The only negative was the noise. We are glad the business is thriving, but between the live music, the proximity of our table to the two closest, and the crowd, it got very noisy. We will be back. Kathy Ariano

    Sat at the bar with my husband and another couple for dinner. The evening started out great. Rose was our bartender and she made a great old fashion. The bang bang shrimp were delicious. Rose unfortunately had to leave to serve tables. Kim was our next bartender. She too was nice and engaging with our fun bantering. I'm giving three for our food and service bc one entre was taken back bc it was overcooked - a steak that was to be medium rare and it was super thin and well done. My husband ordered the risotto con carne. The risotto was more like rice and gravy and the beef was again overcooked and chewy. This meal was not taken back just because it just wasn't worth it. My meal was the sea bass. It was cooked just fine but the sauce was a bit salty. The last meal was gnocchi and it was delicious. The ending was another round of drinks. The men rec'd their drinks but my friends drink was forgotten but but that point we surmised that it wasn't worth asking again. It's also a bummer when you expect your water to be refilled and you have to ask for it. You expect to be asked periodically, 'is everything ok?' or ' do you need anything else?' during your meal. This was asked once in the beginning of our first experience at Galliano. The atmosphere was great but will I go back for just that... Maybe for the gnocchi or old fashion but not the risotto or beef selections if the cook can't tell medium rare from chewy and overdone.
