fantastic service and amazing food equal an amazing dining experience!
Perfect service and great ambiance. Crab cakes were too salty, but wine and entrees were perfect.
Great lunch option
Exceptional service. The food was outstanding. We love this restaurant!!
Excellent service! We went for Charlotte Restaurant Week; portions, options and food quality was terrific. Definitely will return soon.
Brunch is awesome! The French Toast was amazing and the best scrambled eggs!! Very fluffy and very tasty!
Absolutely fantastic food, wine and service...was a little loud tho.
Great food and great service, even for restaurant week!
The food is as blend and my steak was over cook! If you order a steak medium, please be r still assure that it will not have any pink at all!!!!
Went there for restaurant week. Appetizers of pork belly were great. Some were not as rendered as other but overall great taste. Steaks and sides were good. Some temp issues with the steaks but management corrected the issues. Desserts were picture perfect and not overly sweet. Very good experience. Will be back again.
The food was fabulous. The service was top notch. What a great spot. It is pricey but you get what you pay for.
Always a wonderful experience and arguably one of the best restaurants in Charlotte. Wonderful food, presentation, service, craft cocktails...
We went to the Gallery for brunch. I had mentioned it was my in laws 60th wedding anniversary when I made the reservation. The staff acknowledged their anniversary when we arrived. The meals were absolutely delicious. The service was impeccable. Lucretia was the best waitress we have ever had. At the end of the meal they brought out a beautiful dessert that said happy anniversary. A fabulous experience!
Fish (snapper) did NOT taste fresh and/or was not well prepared.
Outstanding dinner. Probably the best lamb dish I’ve ever had; moist, juicy, so much flavor, and cooked perfectly. The asparagus (both white and green) were the size of my thumb, plus very tender, yum!
Service was perfect. Could not have asked for a nicer evening.
Excellent brunch and impeccable service. I will be back to dine again.
I requested that my pork chop be cooked medium rare; our waiter suggested that medium would be very juicy. Despite his persistence, I insisted on medium rare inasmuch as it could always be placed back on the grill. The pork chop arrived ... very well done! I was especially chagrined because our waiter had given me the standard lecture that pork and chicken should never be under cooked. I turned down his offer to prepare another chop for me, because my wife would have to eat alone. I did eat the chop. Too bad it was so well done because it was a very nice piece of pork. A manager took the price of the chop off the bill.
I ordered a glass of wine and noticed that it was well below the 6 ounces as stated on the wine list. I ordered a second glass and, after it was poured, asked to see the bottle. It was almost two-thirds full! It should have been almost half empty. (The bottle was unopened prior to the first pour.) I pointed this out to our waiter, and he promptly topped me up. Gallery's wine prices are very high, and there is no excuse for not pouring the quantity stated on the wine card.
Under ordinary circumstances these incidents are not noteworthy, but for any "fine dining" establishment they are inexcusable.
Fabulous meal , great presentation
This was our 48th anniversary evening and we had been given a $500 gift certificate, for use in the resort. My wife took advantage of a top notch pedicure that was the best she can recall. So she made a reservation for the same evening at the Gallery. This was our second time to visit the Gallery, after our first very loud visit some time ago. We sat bedside a group of 12 that evening and were less than overjoyed. We should have relocated our table...but we did not...our fault. But this last visit two days ago, was undoubtedly one of the worst dining experiences we have had in 48 years! We walked in at 7:30PM Sat, June 23 with reservations. We were promptly seated and then waited for our waitress, and waited and waited. Finally she came, a very pleasant waitress. After ordering cocktails which also took a lengthy time to receive, we began our cocktails, which were good. After sitting there with our drinks for 30 minutes, we asked for bread and was told that bread is only delivered after an order is placed, but they would bring our bread immediately, which they promptly did. After another 20 minutes we placed our order. My wife ordered a beef carpaccio, recommended by the waitress. It took 35 minutes to get the appetizer, & when delivered with a bone and marrow, the waitress showed how to retrieve the marrow. After failed attempt she then took it back to the kitchen, saying it was prepared incorrectly. Then she brought a soup to appease, without asking before hand. She didn't want the soup, but was brought another olive oil soakedCarpaccio which she was very disappointed with. The oil-soaked floating beef having overwhelming oil. Again the bone marrow was not properly prepared, again based on the waitress' comments. Our entrees arrived, we were pleased with our meals, after again waiting an upsetting amount of time. We declined dessert.
We walked out of the restaurant at 9:55, and will not ever go back. Neither will we recommend.
Creative menu with wonderful flavors. Beautiful setting with great service. Would highly recommend.
The menu was really unique and the food was fabulous. The wait staff was stretched a little thin.
A class act! It’s always a pleasure to dine here and the food is terrific!
Great atmosphere and a solid menu
Please take the pasta (do not remember the name) off from the menu. The worst pasta I’ve ever tried. And add more vegetarian menu. Thank you!
Thank you for a unforgettable high school graduation experience for 8 best friends.
Service was excellent and professional, but more importantly everyone was so warm and kind. The food was delicious, the service was wonderful and we had a great time.
You created an unforgettable experience! Thank you for the surprise chocolate cake - see pictures. We will recommend you !
We were at a business seminar and were hungry and tired. Just searched online for nice restaurant close to me and I was very pleasantly surprised. Good food great service and atmosphere!
Apparently, the kitchen services the entire hotel, bar and restaurant. We waited nearly 2 hours for our dinners and my husbands fish came out raw. He didn’t order sushi! The management knew of the wait and never did anything to compensate, not even a cup of coffee!! They need to figure out how they are going to handle the overflow.
We went for our 32nd anniversary and were very pleased. Michael, our waiter, was attentive without being intrusive. Amuse bouche started us off. Calamari appetizer was very good as was kale salad. Duck (not much fat) and elk entrees were beautifully presented and nicely prepared. Great assortment of bread as well as herbed/seasoned butters—a nice touch as was sparkling water. Complimentary dessert was perfect end: chocolate bourbon creme brulee. And a couple of cookies to take home put it over the top! Would definitely recommend for a date night or any dinner away from the hordes. Thank you for a memorable anniversary dinner!
Our waitress was wonderful and the food was great. We did the buffet for Mothers Day and the entire staff was very friendly and everyone went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
The meal was $100 a person for Mother’s Day brunch and honestly very little was offered compared to prior experiences there. Our server was also the bartender so our beverages were not timely requested or served, our brunch plates not cleared promptly between courses so we could return to the buffet and no one checked on us. I have had prior superior experiences here.
The hotel management did not allow ordering from the menu. Instead, we were forced to the buffet. That was NOT indicated on the restaurant website. Nor was it indicated on the hotel’s main web page. In addition, when the bill was presented it was $95 per person plus an additional $52 service charge. The buffet offered very few options. It wasn’t worth $95 even had it been our choice. To be charged $52 (24% of total bill) was unacceptable when all the staff did was bring beverages and clear dishes. Needless to say, won’t go back and we’ve advised our friends in the area.
A Mother’s Day luncheon included $95.00 per person + 24% resort fee & taxes with 20% tip = $440.00 for a BUFFET!
Mediocre service, at best ~ lesson learned ask price before enjoying an overpriced understaffed brunch.
Mother’s Day breakfast, waited 60 minutes for omelette and French toast
I dine at the Gallery every chance I get. The service is impeccable and the food is delicious.
This is my second stay at the Ballantyne Hotel in Charlotte. The Gallery Restaurant is located in the lobby of this very elegant hotel. It was our third time to enjoy this restaurant. We enjoyed dinner and brunch on our last stay here. Both meals were fantastic!! On this trip to Charlotte, I enjoyed brunch with my family. We loved the biscuits, and I ordered the Eggs Benedict (special ordered to be served on biscuits, rather than English muffins) and carrot soup for brunch. Yum! I definitely recommend this restaurant, and look forward to our next visit.
The food was excellent and the service was very helpful in explaining the menus. They made recommendations that we thought were good. It was a bit noisy but acceptable. The desert list sounded really good and the choice made it difficult . We ended up with the chocolate creame brûlée. It was wonderful. We will definitely go there again.
Not bad but not great! They were preparing for larger event later in evening. I still love this restaurant however and will be back.
