Gallery Grill is closed for the holidays Dec 20 thru Jan 06 inclusive; reopens Tuesday Jan 07.

Gallery Grill serves lunch weekdays upstairs in historic Hart House on the University of Toronto's downtown St George campus. The restaurant is also a stunning setting for private events and receptions. Drop by for a quick bite, unwind over a cocktail, or celebrate a special occasion in one of the city's iconic spaces.

    On Sunday May 11, Hart House is pleased to welcome brunch-lovers to Gallery Grill for a celebration of Mothers and all that they do. Raise a toast to Mom with the included glass of sparkling wine (or non-alcoholic equivalent) then select from an assortment of delicious items offered over three courses. See full menu at https://harthouse.ca/events/mothers-day-brunch . Child-friendly menu available for $25. Choose Lounge seating for a quieter experience. Payment will be taken at the restaurant, the listed price does not include taxes or gratuity. Parking available close by on Hoskin Ave or in the parking garages beneath Kings College Circle or Rotman Business School on St George.

      • Wild & Domestic Mushroom Soup with Pecorino Croutons and Truffle Oil

        • Salad of Heirloom Tomato & Buffalo Mozzarella with Arugula, Vincotto, and Extra Virgin Olive Oil

          • Grilled Ontario Asparagus with Cheese Fonduta and Walnut Gremolata

            • Salad of Charred Radicchio & Little Gem Lettuce with Piave, Pancetta Crumbs, and Aged Balsamic

                                    It is undoubtedly a very pretty restaurant, but: 1. The noise level is intolerable. Diners yell at each other across small, closely located tables, to speak to each other. Playing music just raises the speech levels. 2. Food portions are tiny, and terrible value. For example, the main course ravioli dish has just several squares of ravioli at the bottom of a big dish. The amount, for $24, would barely qualify as a starter. Expect a huge bill or to leave hungry.

                                    Gracious service, delicious food, wonderful ambiance. The mushroom bruschetta were excellent and the grilled squid was outstanding—possibly the best I’ve ever eaten. Really appreciated the piping hot plate it was served in! Such a pleasure to be able to revisit a favourite restaurant and find it’s as good as ever.

                                    Overall the food was very flavourful. The cauliflower soup was nicely spiced. The shrimp was a little too spicy for the taste of one of our party. The branzino was nicely prepared with Israaeli couscous. Also the kale ravioli was a good vegan choice.
