We always used Galini as our go to place- at least once every time we were in Florida. This year, we have been there twice in 6 weeks and it was below their high standard from previous years.
Besides the music being so loud that to have a conversation you needed to yell... (the people in the booth in front of us were screaming ... whether that is their normal tone or due to the loud music, I don't know.. but we could have entered into their conversation.
The service, was just "ok"... the gal was nice, but certainly not attentive (i think now that they have multiple people waiting or servicing a table no one knows what the other one has done or asked.
Our soup was warm, the Saganaki had a different cheese than in the past and the lamb chops that should have been rare were more medium...
No one asked if we wanted dessert... but the woman who normally is there at the desk came by and we asked for dessert.
We ordered a dessert to go and when I opened the container, it was not the dessert I expected.
I gave my name and said I had a reservation... the young man apparently did not her that because I received an email from Open Table asking why I did not cancel or use my reservation.
I am not sure what is happening there... most of the staff appear to be the same as previous years, in fact it appears they have more staff now than previously.. but something has changed.
I am not sure we will try it a 3rd time!
I'm half Greek and normally do not like Greek restaurants. I'm sure glad I saw the time availability I needed at Galini Greek. Our party of four loved the food, the ambience, and the staff. This restaurant will become one of our regulars!
The food and the service was excellent. We went there to celebrate my birthday and they surprised me with singing and later on playing the music on the speakers throughout the restaurant. It was funny. The restaurant was nicely decorated and it was nice and quite. We certainly will go back.
Always a winner. Terrific saganski and bronzini. Warm, efficient service. Sat outside on a sidewalk. Safe but not romantic!
Nice family run restaurant where you are served mostly by the family. Having said that the food is just ok. Not as good as other Greek restaurants in the area.
Absolutely delicious food, each and every visit. The Galini Salad, lamb chops and moussaka are especially fantastic. The family is welcoming and most appreciative of your visit and make you feel as if you are dining in their home.
Truthfully, it has always been fantastic--- not so much this time. Besides the fact that it was dark in the booth. The med rare lamb chops were more well done. Asked for fries and got lemon potatoes..
The Southern Comfort Martini was, however, amazing.
Would I recommend... you ask for yes or no. Before this time I would have said YES. After this time, I will go one more time to see if it was a "fluke" night and then decide whether I will recommend or not
The food and service is outstanding
very friendly staff. food was good. would come back again
First time we ate there. Enjoyed it. All good. Will be back again.
Our second visit.l..the food is quite good. The pita and pepper spread are outstanding. We even got some extra to take home. The avagmole soup is delicious. DH chose the 3 lamb chops which were prepared perfectly. I chose the garlic shrimp, which resembled small lobsters. Both dishes came with potatoes and mixed vegetables. We ordered a dessert that was recommended... I can’t recall the name but it was creamy with being sweet and some coconut or something crispy. We were told people traveled to eat that and we certainly understood that! Very nice welcoming atmosphere here.
The restaurant was clean, well decorated, lots of space between tables, fairly prompt service, and the food was great, tasted fresh and big portions. Would definitely go there again. Best Greek restaurant in Langley
This was our first visit and we were very pleased. All entrees include soup or salad, the avogmole was delicious. Also a plate of warm pita and a pepper spread was a treat. We chose stuffed peppers, on a bed of rice, and 3 lamb chops, which came with roasted potatoes and vegetables. Portions were more than generous and flavorful. We had to have the baklava and the calories were worth it. This seems like a family restaurant. There are a few tables outside...in a Publix parking lot. The interior is very attractive. We definitely will return.
Second time I’ve been here. Maybe 1 other couple in the place, but it was a Monday. Food was really delicious, and good size portions. They gave a complimentary yummy little dip with pita bread to start with. Good size salad or soup comes with entree. You will not leave hungry. So far everything has been very tasty. I will definitely be back.
Food was exceptional and service wonderful.
I have eaten at many Greek restaurants and this one is at the top of my list. Excellent value for the money. Very authentic with a deep menu. Many wonderful dishes with fresh ingredients prepared faithfully to the original Greek style. The service is what you would expect from a family run restaurant - very friendly and helpful.
Everything was delicious!
As usual I found the restaurant having excellent food and service
Love this ‘neighborhood’ restaurant. Tried their happy hour menu at the bar.
Excellent! They never disappoint.
They had my name on my reserved table ready when we got there. The waitress Celia was amazing, she was nice and welcoming. The food was delicious. Enjoyed the stuffed sole and my husband liked his chicken kebab. We will definitely be back. Thank you.
Horrible service. Our server was rude with no sense of humor. Food was okay, nothing great. Nothing was authentic. Saganaki was deep fried and not cooking inside. The best part was the pitas and potatoes.
The food is excellent and the owners and staff are wonderful. The only drawback is that the food took a bit long to arrive and they were so busy they could have benefitted from more staff.
Everything was just OK, certainly not worth recommending. Though not really in the same neighborhood, Greek Islands in Fort Lauderdale is 100X better and worth the trip.
Very fresh, delicious food! The staff was also very friendly. Will return!
Everything was delicious as usual. Service by Nico is excellent if you don’t leave this place :-) I’d be very surprised.
Background Greek music made us feel that we were in one of the beautiful islands of Greece. The Moussaka is the very best! And make sure you save room for the custard dessert. Take it from me,Lefteri, You cannot go wrong with this hidden gem.
Everything is first rate. The greeting at the door and the friendliness of the staff. Food is great.
Out waiter, Nick *
Delicious food. Not crazy about dessert selection. Nick is the best waiter!
My absolute favorite restaurant in the area! Everything is so fresh and delicious!!! The service is impeccable. I love the ambiance and it’s not too noisy !! I love their village salad. Superb!!!!
I have eaten here many times and the food is good, the service normally good, and the owners take pride. This time was a disaster. The restaurant was very busy and the waiters over worked and the kitchen overwhelmed. I spoke to the owner and she finally resolved the problem to full satisfaction.
They had employees who did not show up, and I will eat here again and again,
but make sure if you have a problem to speak to an owner and they will treat you like family.
Being from New York (Queens to be exact) I have had my share of Greek food. This place was excellent. Hot fresh pita bread, mussels with great flavor, some of the best grilled octopus outside of Santorini. The platter was delicious with lamb chops cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection. The special of the day the lamb in a clay pot was hot and delicious with the orzo cooked very well. We look forward to coming back when we visit Delray Beach next year!
The restaurant looks great! Appeared very clean and it felt like a true Greek restaurant.
We were excited to try a new Greek restaurant.
The appetizer was not as I expected and the other pepper plate that came with it was spicy.
I told the waitperson. The response was, "I am sorry. It is how it is made here."
We ordered another combination appetizer hoping it would be better.
It came with lamb ribs, chicken wing, hamburger greek style and spinach pie.
The spinach pie and chicken wing were okay. The lamb ribs tasted awful. We spit it out. The hamburger did not taste great so we left part of it. Told the waitperson it did not taste right. The response was, "I am so sorry. Would you like to order something else?"
Nothing was said about a reduction in the total price.
Really enjoyed this restaurant. Food was very good, service was good, portions we're generous and prices were very reasonable. Would definitely go again
We really enjoy going to this wonderful restaurant. The food is fresh and delicious and the service is friendly and efficient. We recommend it highly.
Food was good but 2 dinners were served 20 minutes or more before the other dinners were served. This happened another time but we gave it another go. No free dessert or a rather mediocre apology was given said there was w mix up in the kitchen. The late food was on their specials and we were eating early????
I was very disappointed. Especially because they didn’t check me in to meet the requirements for my points. I told them I had an open table reservation but got nothing just brought us to a table. Therefore I didn’t get my points for dining there.
Very nice dinner. Would return.
Food was excellent but the service was lacking. In attentiveness and responsiveness.
Great family owned restaurant. Food is superb. Wait staff is terrific. Very attentive and inviting.
Food adequate limited menu
We went to this restaurant with friends who had bee there before and thought it was very good. We were not disappointed. We were immediately warmly greeted by the staff and immediately seated. Our two servers introduced themselves and quickly brought water to the table. I had the baby lamb chops and my wife the salmon. Both meals were well prepared. Desert was an excellent Greek chocolate mousse. The only slight problem is that my wife is gluten free, and I’m not sure that our waiter really understood what that meant. However the entire experience was very pleasant and I am sure we will be returning there in the near future.
