Galeto Brazilian Steakhouse
Our concept is based on an endless dining experience that features two masterpieces: a unique Brazilian barbecue selection of rotisserie meats and a Gourmet Table area displaying signature dishes.
The meat parade holds up to 14 different cuts of beef, chicken, lamb, pork, and sausage all served on skewers and carved tableside on the Rodizio style. The Gourmet bar area displays 45+ exquisite signature dishes from designed salads, charcuterie meats, cheese selections, hot dishes to seafood.
Accompanying the food we have a vast wine list of local Californian wines, South American and European options to your taste. Also, make sure you save room for our artisan dessert menu that will make you dream of it for days with authentic Brazilian options.

I went on a Sunday for lunch. It wasn’t busy so that was great. The service was great but I can’t say the same for the food. Most of the meat served were very salty.
So much fun!
We had a great experience, so yummy... thank you all the crew. 🙏🏽🤩
The food was lip-smackingly spectacular. I was closing my eyes, chewing slowly and savoring every bite. The skirt steak was. The. BEST! Perfect juice and char combo. I have a severe seafood allergy and, despite seafood being openly displayed and in abundance, I felt no effects (meaning no cross contamination on the meats or salads). The cocktails were perfectly blended. Desserts were rich without being overwhelming. Dirty dishes were cleared within 1 minute of us moving it to the other side of the table. The owner and his staff are attentive without being intrusive. The ambiance is light, open, warm, and inviting. The bathroom is clean!!! It was a bit more pricey than I expected but we absolutely got what we paid for. We'll go again, hopefully soon.
Brought my boyfriend here for his birthday last night and it was amazing. Every single meat we had was delicious and the gourmet bar was perfect. I have no complaints at all other than I wish I didn’t get full so fast so I could’ve enjoyed more food lol. Will absolutely be back!
The food was delicious!!
The salad bar and lobster bisque was exquisite.
I went during lunch, so there was only one server who also seemed to be the bartender, which probably slowed the service down a bit. The host was helping out a lot. I’m sure there’s more help during dinner.
Overall, I can’t wait to come back!
As always the food was awesome - a good selection from the salad bar and our favorites are the mussels and smoked salmon.
The meat were fresh and had the right amount of seasonings - with just a light touch of salt.
It was my birthday for New Years! The staff sang happy birthday to me in Brazilian and complimentary desserts for myself and my husband. Great side dishes and appetizers and friendly staff.
I’ve dined in this restaurant a number of times. I believe this was my sixth visit, our evening began very pleasant at the bar and I noticed the owner was there and became excited because I had received a message from him on social media after dining there on my first visit. I must tell you we were there over two hours and he went to literally every table to ask diners how their meal was, pour wine and even got a confused Asian man who didn’t seem to understand how the process was a plate and show him how to get food. He must have looked at our table 8 times and purposely walk past us. I’m not sure if he is homophobic or what the issue was but I was extremely insulted at how obviously he ignored our table. You would think my partner and I had on makeup and sheer crop tops instead of Ted Baker topcoats and Ralph Lauren Polos. For $168 and to be subjected to that treatment I think I’ll be saving my Brazilian business for Espetus from now on. The rest of the servers and the bar tender were great as always but I have never left a restaurant feeling so frustrated and disrespected. Gays and lesbians beware and save your hard earned money for another Brazilian steakhouse.
The meat at this place did not taste fresh in comparison to other Brazilian steak houses that I've been to. I don't think I would spend the money that I did if I knew this was the case. The people were nice and made sure you were taken care of.
I treated two dear friends to dinner at Galeto Brazilian Steakhouse. Prime time on a Saturday evening involves a significant investment, but well worth it. The lobster bisque was possibly the best I've had in at least a decade, and the salad bar/buffet area was well populated with all manner of delicacy.
Kudos - you made my visit memorable. Thank you.
When we were seated, the waitress didn’t take the time to introduce the food serving process (salad bar and meat serving process ). We were not served complimentary cheese bread. I had to request for it. The Lamb ribs served was very rare and had asked the waitress to replace it with a medium rare. We waited and waited and waited until close to 9 pm (closing time) the Lamb ribs was still not served. We paid our check and just left the restaurant with disappointment that our family Christmas dinner experience. Food was great. Service was extremely disappointing.
Staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Food was delicious!!!
I was looking for an Oakland version of Fogo de Chau. My wife is Brazilian so she knows authentic.
First, the pros:
- authentic food, good salad bar
- decent service, nice bartenders
- good looking bar
- Cramped seating and salad bar area
- Not as “nice” as Fogo in terms of ambiance
My biggest pet peeve is being seated at a 4 person table with 5 guests, which happened to us. It generally makes the meal unbearable for me.
Good place to eat brazilian cuts of meat, good quality and taste and a fair amount of options for sides and complements but a little to expensive for the overall experience
Overall experience was okay at best. Food was very salty. Not enough seafood options and had to request multiple times for server to fulfill request made.
The service was a bit lackluster (didn’t check in on us, no water refills until we asked multiple times, one of the guys cut a piece of meat into our soup vs. on a plate) but the overall food was pretty good, although a lot of the “medium rare” was more on the medium well side. Restaurant wasn’t that busy for a Sunday night. Brazilian cheese bread was excellent.
Overall we had a great time. However it was married at the end of the course. I had $255 in gift certificates that I was going to use, there were 5 cards that added up to $255 total. I asked our server at the beginning of the meal about the gift cards and she advised me that they would be good to use, but I believe there must have been a language barrier or lack of understanding. At the end of the meal, I tried to present the gift cards but was then told that I would only be able to use one of them toward my meal. Had I know that, I would not have ordered as much during this meal. I ordered 2 cocktails, a hundred dollar bottle of wine and two deserts. Total bill was $260 for two people. I was only able to use one gift card, so now I'm stuck with 4 gift cards at $25 a piece and paying more than I initially planned. I told the waitress but she was uninterested in resolving the situation. Poor service and communication up front.
First time there and we received great food and service.
The food just wasn’t good tonight. Service was eh.
I was extremely disappointed in the customer service. It was my mom’s bday and of all the places to celebrate we chose here. All the pictures and reviews seemed so festive and elegant on Yelp. However, the vibe was not classy at all. The hostess tried to seat us right beside the buffet table against a wall, and when we asked if we could sit somewhere else she said everywhere else was reserved. Although, we had reservations. Then, when we said we will just go somewhere else she said “ok”. As we were leaving another hostess asked why we were leaving and I explained. She then apologized and sat us where we requested. The restaurant when we arrived had two parties so I’m not sure why the original hostess was not accommodating. My mom visited from out of town for this experience and it was embarrassing. Also, they don’t have a card or candle to recognize bdays.
Service was great, food was good however they do not serve everything they advertise on their website on a daily basis. Just be aware that if you go expecting 1 specific meat (Parmesean Pork), they may not be serving it the day you choose to go. besides that staff was great, some of the red meats were on the salty side but overall a good meal and experience.
We spent Thanksgiving here and was pleasantly surprised at how wonderful the experience was. Our meal was delicious and the service was great.
We decided to spend Thanksgiving at Galeto and overall it was a good experience. The Salad Bar was really good, though I would have liked to have a pork free bean option. I know that may seem odd, as this is a meat lovers haven, but I don’t eat pork so that was a bit of a bummer. The meat options were plentiful and delicious. Overall, the service was not great as we had to flag down servers for more bread, drinks, etc. Overall, a good experience and meal, but it was an expensive. I would return for a special occasion.
Great Thanksgiving dinner celebration
Delicious food, a caipirinha cart, great service! We had a fantastic time eating ALL the meats!
Thanksgiving was promised dinner menu 16 selections of meat, BUT repeatedly came bye with various chicken( same 3) & sausage!! My son asked 3 different people for horseradish, AND 2 people for ANOTHER limeade.
Meats have lots of bristle , 5th time going AND absolutely my last!! Espartus Brazilian steakhouse San Mateo little pricier BUT far superior and worth the drive! Tipped 20% because of holiday, BUT hindsight should've tipped 10%
Went for my husband's birthday dinner. Wonderful food and service, thank you!
This is my second time the the Brazilian steak house. I and my lady had a wonderful time. The service was very good for a buzzy restaurant. That staff were making sure everything was right for me and my lady. The salad bar was nice everything was fresh. This is a place I will recommend to my family and friends. Yours truly Mr WILLIAMS .☆☆☆☆☆
With friends and enjoyed our meal at this Brazilian Steakhouse. Fun to do with another couple, good salad bar selection and waiters coming around with selected meats on swords. They just cut off a slice of your selection. Specialty cocktails and desserts also excellent.
All the meats are below average in taste except for the beef ribs which was good. Salad bar was average. Service and frequency of meat arrivals were ok. Would not return or recommend to friends.
Overall, it's a special occasion type restaurant with good Brazilian rodizio-style meats. Lots of birthdays were being celebrated when we dined here mid-November. Wish they had the grilled pineapple & grilled shrimp, didn't see chicken hearts either like Espetus in SF. Has its own ambience for Oakland, as this is the one in Oaktown. The caipirinha made tableside is a nice touch. Would definitely come back for happy hour or come for lunch instead. Attentive service with friendly staff. The cocktails are strong & corkage is $40 per bottle if you bring your own vino.
Great ambiance and meat selection. Worth the experience!
I guess my only problem is that I have a really small appetite (and I made a point of eating no breakfast or lunch before we went) so in that respect, it was a really expensive dinner for me. My hubby has a small to mid-size appetite so it was fine for him! He tried a very small slice of everything though some were left unfinished. That said, I understand they have to factor in the cost of the vast number of choices and probably waste and/or those appetites that seem endless. I literally ate about 5 small bites of meat after the gourmet table where I took about a handful of romaine, 1 small slice of the baguette, and 2 prawns. The food was delicious, the service was outstanding and the vibe and libations were great! I'd definitely go again but maybe we will try for a Sunday lunch next time!
Was little bit over price with the foods quality and selections comparing to espetus in sf ..
Food was outstanding. Service for drinks was a little slow, and I think lower lighting would set the mood better. :)
Don’t bother putting any special notes such as birthday, anniversary, etc. I chose the drop down for my husband’s birthday since we were celebrating his 50th but no one acknowledged it. The table next to us had a bday song and a dessert with a candle brought out.
Food was good and the servers with the food were great! TOOOOO noisy! To cramped! Made reservations well in advance and was seated as if I came at the last minute! Spacing between tables was awful! Noted on reservation we were celebrating anniversary & birthday and nothing acknowledged!
