Galeto Brazilian Steakhouse
Our concept is based on an endless dining experience that features two masterpieces: a unique Brazilian barbecue selection of rotisserie meats and a Gourmet Table area displaying signature dishes.
The meat parade holds up to 14 different cuts of beef, chicken, lamb, pork, and sausage all served on skewers and carved tableside on the Rodizio style. The Gourmet bar area displays 45+ exquisite signature dishes from designed salads, charcuterie meats, cheese selections, hot dishes to seafood.
Accompanying the food we have a vast wine list of local Californian wines, South American and European options to your taste. Also, make sure you save room for our artisan dessert menu that will make you dream of it for days with authentic Brazilian options.

Came here for Father’s Day and the prices were up because it was a special occasion, we understand that.. but given it was a special occasion, nothing special was going on and it seemed like they didnt have all the meats on the menu going around. Kept seeing the same stuff and asked for beef and pork ribs a couple of times. Other Brazillian steakhouses are better. Service was great but that’s the only thing that saved the day.
The ambiance was very nice. We went on Father's Day, but I can definitely imagine this being a very lovely environment for a date. We arrived early for our reservation, but they were courteous enough to seat us early. I enjoyed all of the food that I tried, but my favorites were the salmon and the mushroom salad. All of the staff were extremely friendly and available without hovering. I will definitely return.
Been several times before and thought food was good, fathers day experience NOT so much, lots of bristle on beef & chicken several different ways outnumbered the beef probably 3 to 1 very bizarre and disappointing!
Probably was last visit, if I want chicken i'll go too Costco
My Fiancé and I came out to eat here for the first time for Father’s Day. He’s more of a medium well type of meat eater but me myself I’m more of Well done. So the first server came out and stopped at our table ans my partner retrieved some of the steak and i asked could possibly i could request some well done steak and the server said this is what we’re serving. Soon after that everytime the servers would come out they would walk right by our table with our card turned on Green. This happened 3 times until we called out to the server and he seemed kinda agitated once we asked why he keeps walking by and not stopping and he said with a deep breath and a eyebroll, you want Well done and i stated “No my partner wants medium well, I’m the one who requested well done. I just felt the overall service wasn’t what I imagined it to be. You need variety for your Guest who likes their steak well done! Also servers should be more friendly. 👎🏾
Everything was ok, service was amazing. Just really upset to spend $150+ on dinner for 2 to sit in a really hot restaurant.. couldn’t enjoy my hot cuts of meat the way I wanted too. I was sweating in my seat and ended up drinking a lot of water. While waiting for the meats to come to the table..by the time the cuts that we really wanted to try came out, my date and I were over it and just wanted to leave... Hopefully the next time Oakland is 100degrees again they will turn on the AC.
Meat was so incredibly salty! Couldn’t drink enough water. Salad bar was good, lobster bisque was my favorite, but for the price...I really don’t think it warrants what they charge. 5 in our party, 3 of us sick with stomach cramps and in bathroom remainder of evening once we left.
The food and service was amazing. we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and we were seated in the middle of the restaurant and we we able to see the entire restaurant. They explained the procedure how to select meats. I use the buffet to taste the various food selection and reserve most of the eating to the meat selections (Unfortunately I didn't have an opportunity to taste the lamb or pork, I was really full). Make sure you go in with a completely empty stomach.
Just dine with family celebrate birthday dinner. All in all the table sides and other dishes are well presented and more variety to choose. Steaks are good and if you want more pink meat just ask and they will make sure you got the right cook of meat . Not grill prawns or pineapple or chicken liver. I’m talking all meat escapade. Don’t mind some grill and wrap chicken bacon so I suggest try it. Parking are just across the street or behind the restaurant.
Everything was amazing, service was little slow. It took forever for us to get wine both times
Had a really great lunch at Galeto. This was my first time and I was very impressed by the taste and the quality of the meats, as well as the wide selection of items in the salad and sides bar. Everything was delicious. I was concerned that the meat would not be hot as it is brought out on skewers and then sliced at the table. But the thick skewer keeps everything piping hot. The meat was prepared with the perfect marinades and/or spices. The chicken wrapped in bacon was out of this world. I will definitely come back and next time bring more of an appetite to enjoy more of the different meats. Highly recommend!
This elegant Brasilian churrasceria is located near Old Oakland and is a treat for the sense.
I loved it!!! My son recommended and we were enchanted by the delicious appetizers and the meat!!!
Galeto is a wannabe/knockoff Brazilian Steakhouse, not nearly as good as Fogo de Chao or Espetus. The salad bar items were cheap tasting and/or not fresh - the prosciutto especially tasted really off. The meats were sadly under seasoned, and the selection isn't as wide as other places. I had a glass of wine and it tasted like the bottle had been open for some time.
The service saved this from being a poor experience. The staff were incredibly nice and friendly, and because I noted in my OpenTable reservation that my partner and I were celebrating an anniversary, they brought us an ice cream with "Happy Anniversary <3" written around the plate in chocolate which was very cute.
Dinner was good; I was really glad that I made a reservation because I saw a number of people turned away because it was busy. The meat was delicious although it was difficult to figure out when the meat we wanted was going to come. The side options were good and varied. The service was great, they were very attentive. My only complaint was that the server talked very fast so it was hard to catch some of the details. Our bill for 2 turned out to be about $200 (after tip) with 2 cocktails each. Definitely come hungry.
Truly excellent service from staff members who take pride in their work. The meats were juicy and delicious. Will come again for another special occasion.
Decent for the price, cuts of meat were OK little bristle on few cuts which wasn't awesome, but decent value
For begin the first time having Brazilian food, the food was amazing delicious.
I took my husband here for his birthday dinner. The food was soooo good and the service was excellent. We will be coming back!
One of the best meals of my life. The service isn’t outstanding and we weren’t seated right away even though we were on time for our reservation. The guys serving the meat are awesome and the food was amazing. So was dessert. At first the hostess said corkage fee was $40 but got the bill and it was $20. Will be back!
Went on Mother’s Day. They were behind about 30 minutes. Understandable. However the hostess did me dirty. Seated a loud party who arrived at least 20 minutes after me and were loud. She was obviously intimated by them.
Our waitress was friendly and welcoming. Offered us water and appetizers. We did not receive the appetizers or see her again until it was time for dessert. It took too long to flag down another waitress and get the dessert menu. We decided not to make a big deal about the appetizers since they’re just filler food anyway. We were there for the meat!
Four cuts of meat were flavorful and worthy of additional helpings. The others were tough, lacked salt or was dry.
This was my third time here. After this I most likely won’t return. There are other Brazilian steakhouses with better food and service: Espetus in SF and Galpao in Napa.
Great customer service and staff. Buffet selections was mediocre. Staff was friendly and always came by to check on our table.
We waited for 45 minutes although we had reservations. The meat section could have been expanded. It is not kid friendly.
Everything was perfect. Don’t agree with your high tip suggestions.
Friendly staff, attractive space, delicious food, huge variety on Mother's Day. Great sides and salad bar with huge variety. The meats were plentiful, well-seasoned and expertly prepared with a perfect amount of char and smokiness. The servers gave us exactly what we wanted in terms of temperature and quantity. Highly recommend!
My 3rd visit here! They’ve toned down the saltiness of the meats so now I think they’re perfectly seasoned! Waitress was so kind to let us sample wine before we bought a bottle. Salad bar was replenished nicely (salmon and shrimp) and selection was good. Meat was brought around with good timing and meat temperatures were varied but nothing too overdone or dry.
We would have ordered dessert except after getting the dessert menu, our server disappeared for maybe 15 minutes (break maybe?) and we couldn’t catch anyone else’s eye. When server reappeared we decided to skip dessert since we were all plenty full!
The food was amazing, you really need to pace when you go. Servers were friendly and very attentive. We never waited for the meats to be served, they rocked it. It is a smaller venue that is open so it does tend to be a bit loud but you overlook it because your so busy with all the food coming to your table. I think you do get your mind use worth but it would have been nice if the dessert was included. We’ll definitely be back and bring the whole family!!
Burthday. Good food.
A Brazilian Steakhouse with good service and ambiance plus delicious food. In overall Galeto it's a nice restaurant for night out. I strongly recommend if you want to experience a proper "churrasco brasileiro".
Out of town sister visiting coincided with birthday. This restaurant fit the bill for 1 who eats gluten free, 1 picky eater & birthday man who loves cow.
Decent salad bar... I was tempted to fill up on lobster bisque, hearts of palm & mango. Plenty of choices include mussels, shrimp, beans & rice, plenty of veggies. Variety of meats all nicely seasoned, brought to table on skewers in endless parade, sliced off for you until you cry "uncle!". My favorites: lamb, piranha steak.
Of course yummy caipirinhas. Plenty of other cocktail, wine, beer choices. Several dessert choices, but we were all too full. Price for dinners very fair considering quality & amount you can eat. Booze a bit pricey. 5 dinners plus drinks = $350 plus tax, tip.
Attractive, simple decor, Brazilian music playing at a comfortable background volume.
Close to Bart in Oakland old town, easy street parking next to restaurant both times we've been here.
Excellent food and lots of side dishes. It was our first time at a Brazilian steakhouse and it's a high bar set for quality and quantity of food! Loved the cheese muffins!
Great food (meat lovers dream). Great service, very friendly. Somewhat pricey. Overall well worth it.
Excellent service always. Food outstanding. Love the beverages. I enjoyed the Ipanema Beach very refreshing. Our server was Michelle she provided excellent and attentive service. All of the staff are very friendly courteous and professional. The Buffet has a delicious variety of items. My personal favorites are the Beans, rice and Yucca flour sprinkled on top. Dessert over the top coffee was excellent. The meats were cooked to perfection and offered as often as desired. Brazilian Sausage, Lamb chops, Bacon wrapped chicken, Parmesan Pork, Sirloin , Flank, oh my!
Super beautiful restaurant with the kindest service!
An endless supply of Brazilian grilled meats along with tons of delicious sides and exquisite service makes for an engaging dining experience. We're going back!
Took my dad there for his birthday. He recently returned home from a 7.5 month stay in skilled nursing/rehabilitation eating bland hospital food and wanted a good steak. He really enjoyed tasting the variety of flavors in the meat and his key lime pie desert.
This guys never fail! Their Parmesan Pork and Picanha are superb. My wife loves the Tri Tip. Highly recommended.
All around great experience. Went for dinner and parking was easy, but may be more difficult around lunchtime.
Very pricey, other Brazilian steak houses are the same price but there are more options.
Service was great until we were finished with the meats then we were all but forgotten, we had to ask for dessert, drinks, check....
It was a pleasant dining experience, as it was my first time dining at Galeto. The capirinha's were delicious. The buffet selections were exquisite. Some of the steaks brought around were to rare for my liking, but the ones I tried melted like butter in my mouth! All in all I enjoyed the experience.
