I love dining here. The wait staff are very attentive and the food is absolutely delicious. Their Mango Rum drink is an absolute must try.
Variety of meats advertised did not materialize. Nearly all beef, exceptions pork ribs and chicken breast. My wife could not get medium cooked meat so she gave up. We request filet mignon without bacon for Mom and it was grizzly and chewy.
The waiter was not very attentive, for example he would take away dirty plates when asked, eventually, however would not bring back clean ones. I dropped $500 on dinner for 5 people and just don't see the value nor understand the 4 star rating on Yelp.
Now let's add the manager would not turn in the AC until after multiple requests nearly half way through dinner on a 90 degree plus day. We were there celebrating mom's 93rd birthday and the poor gal had a hard time with the heat. At least she got free a free scoop of ice cream with a candle for her birthday.
On the plus side, the drinks were good.
And let's close with a tip for the servers, the knife's blade should never point towards the customer you are serving.
The restaurant was perfect! The food was great, staff was fantastic! I will be returning
Really good food and good service. One of the guys (Albert I think) bringing meat around just overheard that I was looking for ribeye and even though we had turned our cards to not receive meat he went into the kitchen got ribeye and brought it directly to me. The same went for my friend who was looking for rare cuts and he came directly to her when he had a rare cut. Would definitely come again.
Awesome restaurant, incredible food & drinks!
The food is really good but it was overpriced in my opinion. The salad bar is an awesome spread and the table side Brazilian rum drinks are great!
Surprisingly fresh, tasty and varied buffet with endless servings of 15 different meats on sword skewers. Super friendly and attentive staff and delicious food. The black beans were outstanding. Lobster bisque, potato salad, cheeses, prosciutto, smoked salmon, and much much more. Oh, and the dinner rolls and fried polenta are not to be missed! Bring your appetite, and your wallet. It’s very good.
If you like your meat rare its perfect place for you. I only like my meat well done so I wasn't able to try alot of the meats. They cooked filet mignon well done fornme but that was it. Had I none that I could just eat the bar at a lower price I would have requested that and not paid full price for meats I couldn't eat. But overall great experience. My friend loved it so that's what really matters.
The quality of the food was above my expectations and my guests enjoyed it. Great service attentive but not overbearing. I’ll be back.
Overall experience was ok, i picked this place to celebrate my moms birthday. Unfortunately, a piece of hair was in her salad and that kind of ruined it for her. When it came to getting meat, I asked to get mine and her piece well done, from which the guy mentioned he could do but he never returned back with our steaks, I waited for like 15 mins before asking another guy for the same request. I think I went into this place with high expectations for my first time, considering that I've been to other Brazilian steak houses in the bay and I was a bit disappointed.
Loud. Noisy. Very loud. Ridiculously noisy.
This aint a restaurant, it is a wannabe disco dance hall with horrid acoustics.
Waitress sat us down, started to speak, we couldnt hear a word that she was saying.
Asked them 3 times to turn the music down and they never did; and as we were finishing up they actually increased the music volume. Absurd.
Very basic salad bar.
Parsimonious with the steak. They slice very small portions of meat, then quickly leave the table before you can ask for another slice. Some of the slices were literally less then a forkful. Kept coming around with chicken and sausage. Hey, this is supposed to be a STEAK house, bring on the steak, enough with the chicken and sausage!!
Too expensive for what they deliver.
The staff was very helpful and service was fast, considerate, and professional. The food was incredibly delicious and offered a vast selection of meats, sides, and desserts. The price was very fair for the quality, and amount, of food you got. Our party of 6 was unanimously satisfied with our meals and would recommend Galeto to anyone looking for an excellent, one-of-a-kind dining experience.
My concern was, we had reservations at 1:30pm for my boyfriends birthday. We were there for approximately 1 hour and we were told the kitchens closed and no more grill available. I understand it was lunch and you're not meant to stay forever, but having birthday conversations, time flies by. If the resturant had closing lunch hours, we should have been notified in advance.
This was my second time at Galeto , the first time was on a Saturday night and it was excellent, we enjoyed the experience. This time we went on a Weds and I'm not sure what the problem was. The buffet was comparably kind of sparse and we had to ask them to refill items. They kept coming by with the same cuts of meats, never saw the ribeye or the filet mignon, just the top sirloin and the cheaper cuts of meat. When we asked, they brought by something that was supposed to be filet mignon but was gray colored, miniature and completely overcooked. It was a real disappointment unfortunately, I had high hopes this would become a go-to place in Oakland but this trip didn't bode well for ever returning.
Servers were great and friendly and receptionist made us feel right at home. We tried all the meats in the menu and the salad open bar was fantastic! 100% service! We stayed till it closed! Awesome would be going again 52 per person
The staff were wonderful and the food were delicious.
If you like meat it is a great place to have dinner.
I did feel the red wine was a bit pricey. $16 for a glass
of their house red wine.
The buffet was super.
The buffet/side bar and the big table next to it is a bit too close that makes it hard to walk around
If you, and your special one loves beef, than this is the place to go.
Great service and food. Just wish the lamb was more on the rare side.
Fantastic all around
We went here for our anniversary and really enjoyed the food. Unfortunately, when I made the reservation I had specified that it was our wedding anniversary, but they didn’t do anything special or even wish us.
Went here for our anniversary dinner and had an amazing time. Everyone was really nice and made the experience perfect. The food was excellent!
It was a great time dining with my colleagues after an afternoon of team building! Choices were plentiful, and the food was good!
Very nice restaurant, lots of food I enjoyed myself will be back again
The quality of the meats is fantastic and they keep a good rotation. I did miss the fact I wasn't able to ask for a medium rare or well done piece of meat. I like my meat juicy and a couple of times I was given a well done piece.
Also, don't get fooled by the caipirinhas. They rotate them as if they were included, but they are not included in the dining experience, they are an additional $$
Food was average at best. Quality of meat was just ok. On the plus side, hostess and servers were very nice and did a great job.
I booked Galeto to celebrate my husbands birthday. The food was delicious! All the cuts of meat were super tender and juicy, and the flavors were spot on. I ate til I was ready to bust. The drinks were all delicious as well - we ordered a caipirinha and another cocktail and both were so good. They also surprised me and brought out a birthday dessert and multiple spoons for us :) And sang happy Birthday in Portuguese. The whole evening was lovely. I’d gladly go back again (when I work up an appetite again).
Excellent service, excellent selection of meats
Galeto was great! Seated right away for our reservation. Had multiple servers to our table within the first minute. The food was amazing and the service was fantastic. Parking was easy and wasn't too busy since its in a business district. Definitely will be going back!!
We have dined here 5 times and each experience has been remarkable. Food, friendly, service, drinks all top notch. Very highly recommended without reservation!
I have been to this restaurant 3 times now and have always had a great experience because of the great food and service.
Food was good, but delivery to table was a little slow. It could have been due to our 5:30 PM reservation time, but in other restaurants of this type, the meat came to the table at a faster rate.
Although food was of good quality, we were not served meat options for about 25 minutes despite our placards being green side up. We had to ask the matron that we were not being served. It was an unpleasant experience.
We arrived at 6pm on a Sunday, so it was rather quiet. The waiters were extremely courteous and attentive and the cavalcade of roasted meats arrived quickly, so we were never wondering when the next selection would arrive. I have also been to Pampas in Palo Alto and Espetus in San Mateo, but find that I have preferred this place. There may not be the same number of items in the side buffet bar, but they were delicious (so quality over quantity). My only recommendation would be to have a smaller plate for meat at the table, to keep it separate from the side buffet items.
The staff was wonderful. The antipasto bar was amazing. Some of the meats were tough but its all you can eat so we just got more.
They have the best service and food!
I had a guest and she was very impressed with the service, food and ambiance!
Love the experience for our first time ever trying and for our anniversary it was great cant wait to go again.
I went for lunch and it was a *great* experience. It is kind of like going to a dim sum restaurant where they bring carts of Dim Sum to your table, and you pick what you want. But though I like dim sum, this was much better. They kept bringing wonderful barbeque (Brazilian style) to our table, and we just picked what we liked.
The soups and salads and breads were also first class.
To top it off, my son chose a caramel desert and that was fantastic too.
Excellent service too!
For the quality, this was a bargain for about $30 per person for the all-you-can-eat lunch seating.
I definitely plan to go back again, to either celebrate something, or if you just feeling a bit down, there is nothing like having a really excellent lunch to cheer you up.
I also really liked the lobster bisque they had.
Great dining experience truly enjoyed food and service!
