Truly excellent service from staff members who take pride in their work. The meats were juicy and delicious. Will come again for another special occasion.
Decent for the price, cuts of meat were OK little bristle on few cuts which wasn't awesome, but decent value
For begin the first time having Brazilian food, the food was amazing delicious.
I took my husband here for his birthday dinner. The food was soooo good and the service was excellent. We will be coming back!
One of the best meals of my life. The service isn’t outstanding and we weren’t seated right away even though we were on time for our reservation. The guys serving the meat are awesome and the food was amazing. So was dessert. At first the hostess said corkage fee was $40 but got the bill and it was $20. Will be back!
Went on Mother’s Day. They were behind about 30 minutes. Understandable. However the hostess did me dirty. Seated a loud party who arrived at least 20 minutes after me and were loud. She was obviously intimated by them.
Our waitress was friendly and welcoming. Offered us water and appetizers. We did not receive the appetizers or see her again until it was time for dessert. It took too long to flag down another waitress and get the dessert menu. We decided not to make a big deal about the appetizers since they’re just filler food anyway. We were there for the meat!
Four cuts of meat were flavorful and worthy of additional helpings. The others were tough, lacked salt or was dry.
This was my third time here. After this I most likely won’t return. There are other Brazilian steakhouses with better food and service: Espetus in SF and Galpao in Napa.
Great customer service and staff. Buffet selections was mediocre. Staff was friendly and always came by to check on our table.
We waited for 45 minutes although we had reservations. The meat section could have been expanded. It is not kid friendly.
Everything was perfect. Don’t agree with your high tip suggestions.
Friendly staff, attractive space, delicious food, huge variety on Mother's Day. Great sides and salad bar with huge variety. The meats were plentiful, well-seasoned and expertly prepared with a perfect amount of char and smokiness. The servers gave us exactly what we wanted in terms of temperature and quantity. Highly recommend!
My 3rd visit here! They’ve toned down the saltiness of the meats so now I think they’re perfectly seasoned! Waitress was so kind to let us sample wine before we bought a bottle. Salad bar was replenished nicely (salmon and shrimp) and selection was good. Meat was brought around with good timing and meat temperatures were varied but nothing too overdone or dry.
We would have ordered dessert except after getting the dessert menu, our server disappeared for maybe 15 minutes (break maybe?) and we couldn’t catch anyone else’s eye. When server reappeared we decided to skip dessert since we were all plenty full!
The food was amazing, you really need to pace when you go. Servers were friendly and very attentive. We never waited for the meats to be served, they rocked it. It is a smaller venue that is open so it does tend to be a bit loud but you overlook it because your so busy with all the food coming to your table. I think you do get your mind use worth but it would have been nice if the dessert was included. We’ll definitely be back and bring the whole family!!
Burthday. Good food.
Out of town sister visiting coincided with birthday. This restaurant fit the bill for 1 who eats gluten free, 1 picky eater & birthday man who loves cow.
Decent salad bar... I was tempted to fill up on lobster bisque, hearts of palm & mango. Plenty of choices include mussels, shrimp, beans & rice, plenty of veggies. Variety of meats all nicely seasoned, brought to table on skewers in endless parade, sliced off for you until you cry "uncle!". My favorites: lamb, piranha steak.
Of course yummy caipirinhas. Plenty of other cocktail, wine, beer choices. Several dessert choices, but we were all too full. Price for dinners very fair considering quality & amount you can eat. Booze a bit pricey. 5 dinners plus drinks = $350 plus tax, tip.
Attractive, simple decor, Brazilian music playing at a comfortable background volume.
Close to Bart in Oakland old town, easy street parking next to restaurant both times we've been here.
Excellent food and lots of side dishes. It was our first time at a Brazilian steakhouse and it's a high bar set for quality and quantity of food! Loved the cheese muffins!
Great food (meat lovers dream). Great service, very friendly. Somewhat pricey. Overall well worth it.
Excellent service always. Food outstanding. Love the beverages. I enjoyed the Ipanema Beach very refreshing. Our server was Michelle she provided excellent and attentive service. All of the staff are very friendly courteous and professional. The Buffet has a delicious variety of items. My personal favorites are the Beans, rice and Yucca flour sprinkled on top. Dessert over the top coffee was excellent. The meats were cooked to perfection and offered as often as desired. Brazilian Sausage, Lamb chops, Bacon wrapped chicken, Parmesan Pork, Sirloin , Flank, oh my!
Super beautiful restaurant with the kindest service!
An endless supply of Brazilian grilled meats along with tons of delicious sides and exquisite service makes for an engaging dining experience. We're going back!
Took my dad there for his birthday. He recently returned home from a 7.5 month stay in skilled nursing/rehabilitation eating bland hospital food and wanted a good steak. He really enjoyed tasting the variety of flavors in the meat and his key lime pie desert.
This guys never fail! Their Parmesan Pork and Picanha are superb. My wife loves the Tri Tip. Highly recommended.
All around great experience. Went for dinner and parking was easy, but may be more difficult around lunchtime.
Very pricey, other Brazilian steak houses are the same price but there are more options.
Service was great until we were finished with the meats then we were all but forgotten, we had to ask for dessert, drinks, check....
It was a pleasant dining experience, as it was my first time dining at Galeto. The capirinha's were delicious. The buffet selections were exquisite. Some of the steaks brought around were to rare for my liking, but the ones I tried melted like butter in my mouth! All in all I enjoyed the experience.
Salad offerings wonderful, meat quality very so so and not worth the high price
The service and food were great!
Good, friendly service, tasty food at the bar, tasty meat, good cocktails
At a higher price point compared to Fogo de Chao and Espetus but generally great service and food.
Galeto is in an upscale location in Oakland (next to Le Cheval) and has upscale pricing ($40 corkage fee!) but in my opinion, the food was mediocre and the service matched. The meats they served were either bloody and undercooked or well done. Most were tough. The place was not busy so maybe their best chef was not in the kitchen that day. The best meats came out rarely. We saw the sirloin quite often (and refused it after the first time) but the tenderloin came to us once during our 90 minute stay (and was grey all the way through). My water glass sat empty for 10 minutes at one point and we were forced to get up and hunt around for a salt shaker. There was no hostess at the front and we had to hunt someone down to get our check after waiting for awhile. I like Oakland and I like the area, but I won't be back.
Galeto was a great experience. While some meats were a bit dry, I did very much enjoy majority of the choices. The salad bar options are great. Service was awesome!
Everything was awesome except for it was my girlfriend birthday and they never brought out a happy birthday desert but besides that everything was good and definitely will go back but by myself for lunch.
The service and the food was excellent!! The choices at the salad bar were numerous and a huge variety! From the front door, waiting to be seated and until the end of our meal, everyone was extremely pleasant and professional!
It was absolutely wonderful. The food was very delicious and the service was amazing. We were served by a beautiful young lady who also gave us a lot of information about the cuisine and the restaurant and was fun. Great authentic Brazilian experienece.
It is way over priced for what you get. We had a table of 6 and we all agreed that only 1 of the meats was worth a 2nd serving. The salad bar was pretty good with salmon and shrimp options. Had I known of the fish options prior to eating there, I would have opted for just the salad bar. But then, I've also seen better salad bars for this price. Oh, and their website said $39.95 for Sundays. I called to very. They said "It's $42.95 on Sunday." When we got the bill, we were charged $54.95. The hostess said the $42.95 was for lunch. I won't be back for multiple reasons.
One of the best Brazilian steak house. All you can eat from: rib eye, filet mignon, garlic tenderloin, skirt steak, sirloin, tri tip, sausage, chicken drump stick, rack of lamb, leg of lamb, short rib, pork belly...
Star out with lobster bisque soup, then steamed filet of salmon, steamed mussels. Next is cold cut station with prosciutto with honeydew melon, salami, cheeses section, salad station and vegetables.
Good wine list and cocktails. Service could be more attention to detail, for examples:
Pouring wine, water, cleaning plates and refresh with new one. Price valued!
I advised my waiter, the supervisor, & meat servers that I needed well done meet due to my pregnancy. I waited over 30 minutes before I received any meat. It was burnt fat to say the least of the strip steak. I never received garlic steak, filet, etc. due to my request for well done meat. I definitely did not feel like I got the value for what I paid. It’s unfortunate because we have gone to more popular Brazilian steakhouses and I’ve never had an issue getting a variety of steaks cooked well. I will not be returning. However, I will say that the gourmet bar selection is excellent!! I was not expecting lobster bisque as a starter and it was superb.
A little overpriced, the salad bar was low standard and they only brought the meat out 3 times during our sit down..... sausage came out very frequently though.... next time I’d wrather make the commute to espetus
All meats were really salty. The taste itself was good but the meats with fat were super salty.
Similar experience as Fogo de Chao. My husband liked it for the variety of meat. I personally prefer higher quality steaks since I don’t eat as much.
Excellent lunch with a couple of cosmos! Many delicious choices from the salad bar plus and the meat was tender and flavorful... It was my second visit and I shall return!!😊
