About Gaido's Seafood Restaurant
The toast of the Texas coast.
How can frozen fish be called fresh? The answer for anyone with snap is simple: it can’t. That’s why Gaido’s is the classic choice for fresh Gulf seafood. Patrons know Gaido’s is real, when others are clearly not. From red snapper and blue crab to white tablecloths crumbed with panache, there’s no denying Gaido’s is one-of-a-kind in a world of imitation. Now, after four generations of filleting, frying, grilling and baking, Gaido’s has grown into the picture perfect place of traditions– birthdays, anniversaries, retirements, reunions. As the largest fresh fish house on the coast, Gaido’s can serve up to 2,500 happy diners a day. Plus, with the Pelican Club, private dining, catering, a new food truck and parking galore…it’s easy to see why Gaido’s -– for over 100 years – is truly the coastal classic.

Gaido's Seafood Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Phenomenal experience! Food was superb, and service was exceptional! Vidam, our server, was one of the best we've ever had! Attentive without hovering, perfect timing, and completely aware of the needs of his entire section (I used to be a fine dining server years ago, so I pay attention to these details, and I'm pretty critical.) Vidam was on point all night! Best oysters OTHS I've ever had. Shrimp bisque was up there in the top 2-3 as well! Everything else we ate was absolutely wonderful as well... Perfectly prepared and in readily flavorful. All-in-all, it was a supremely enjoyable experience, and we'll definitely make Gaidos a regular stop on our Galveston trips.
Foggy evening. Not crowded. Got seated at 6pm. Just wanted to relax and enjoy a cocktail before we ordered. The waitress must have asked us 10 times if we were ready to order. We finally said we would order our soup but hold off on our entree. The soup came immediately. We weren’t even through with our one cocktail. Our main entree, stuffed flounder special came before we could finish our soak up. At this point I was really irritated. She said they could take it back to the kitchen. No thank you. Iit was supposed to be special of the day. It was soggy. A rip-off. From the time we sat down and left, it had only been 45 minutes. We had planned for a relaxing evening and nice dinner. We will not be back.
Elena was attentive and personable. She let us know all the specials and we were all pleased with the service. We had two appetizers, and several different entrees in our party. All were delighted with the appetizers, soups, seafood choices. Everything was delicious. We splurged and had your award winning pecan crunch to share. It is the best. Thank you for a perfect dining experience.
I have a food allergy and Gaido’s was not very accommodating. What the chef did prepare had absolutely no flavor at all. I was told there would be a lemon butter sauce on my food and this did not happen. I’ve been to Gaido’s many times since I was young, I was quite disappointed with this visit.
The service was great and the stuffed flounder was excellent but pricey at $51. The asparagus with lump crab meat needed some spice but was good, and the shrimp salad was a disappointment in that had a very drab taste. Mostly lettuce with just an icecream scoop of shrimp salad.
I have been eating here for over 45 years! the restaurant has had its ups and downs over the last 15 years or so. The current management is running the place every bit as good as 45 years ago, if not BETTER!
Always fresh, always tasty. always great service, always a view of the Gulf of Mexico, always adequate spacing between the table, reasonable prices
The table behind us was really loud, which in turn caused my husband and I to yell a little. Also the asparagus should come with a sauce or the option of having a sauce accompaniment, the natural taste was pretty bad. Also the spinach and crab dip was my favorite....awesome wouldn’t change a thing about it.
Our favorite restaurant in Texas, have been going there for years... and had a memorable meal there during our Honeymoon 30years ago. We come back as often as possible, and this restaurant never disappoints. OUTSTANDING Seafood Bisque, Gumbo, Shrimp, Crab, and steaks!! Can't wait to go again soon!!
