Our server was over the top! Uncle Bill was beyond fantastic! Food was extraordinary. The dessert was out of this world. The best pecan pie i ever had! Definitely a keeper!!!!
Food is delicious and before we left I would say service was ok. Then we left my husband's credit card. Our waitress chased us into the parking lot and they had already left a message.
Food and service were outstanding. Elena was a wonderful server. We enjoyed talking with her, she was on top of everything and had a fun sense of humor. We had raw oysters and crab avocado as appetizers. My wife and I had the snapper Michael with burre blanc and the shrimp peques (bacon wrapped). I love bacon wrapped shrimp and these were my all time favorite. The snapper was also spectacular. My 13 year old had the Asiago oysters as her dinner and literally licked the shells clean. We had the Cassata (angel food cake) for dessert. It was wonderful as well. Gaido’s is not inexpensive but definitely worth it. The food and execution were perfect. A few nights earlier we went to another local seafood restaurant, with good reviews and nearly as expensive, and it wasn’t even close to as good. Next time we are in town and want local seafood this is the only place we will go.
Great seafood, service was excellent as well. Highly recommend!!!
The service was very professional, but quote slow. The first drinks did not come until over 10 minutes after ordering. Ordered a second drink when the entrees came and it did not come until I finished the meal. But the food was outstanding.
I've been coming to Gaido's for years and it is still the best seafood restaurant in Galveston. The food and the service are the best. No wonder it's a Galveston institution.
My entire plate of food was cold... no, not room temperature! My daughter’s hamburger was so over cooked, she would not eat it. Fries were hot and good. My husband’s fish and crayfish plate was just ok. Nothing great. Wanted to give them another try before I removed them from my list. Your restaurant is now off our list..shame.
Food was very good. Server lacked personality and interest in us.
Was some of the beat and freshest seafood I have had. Every item we ordered was excellent. I would definitely recommend driving down from Houston for the experience.
We love Gaido's and enjoy taking our family there whenever they make a trip to the Gulf. We took my sister and niece on Sunday and while the food was excellent, our server, Mackenzie, I believe her name was, she never told us and I read it on the check, was, to use my niece's wording "Snotty". While I wish I could say the girl was having a bad day and was treating everyone like this, the truth was, it was only us. We saw and heard her interactions with the tables on either side of us, and she was friendly and nice, but with us, she was curt and rude. We were there two hours, we ordered appetizers and were glad, at first our meals didn't just come rushing out, but after sitting there 40 minutes waiting on our food, while the tables on either side of us were enjoying their meals and they had arrived after us, and they too had ordered appetizers, and one table even had a larger party than ours, we were getting frustrated. I do not know why this particular server took such a dislike to our table, but she made it obvious through the whole meal that she did not like us. IF I go back and she is our server we will leave.
The food however is worth the trip and the atmosphere is great. Most servers are wonderful, we just got one who for whatever reason disliked us, pity for her, since I tend to leave rather large tips for those servers who deserve it. Our ticket was over $250 and had she done her job well she might have gotten a 40% tip instead of the 5% I left her.
Wonderful experience, food great, easy to have a conversation,
Elena was a very bad server who made our experience miserable. I spoke with the manager regarding her poor service, he did nothing at all. If you are seated in her section; ask for another server!!!!! She is horrible.
We wanted to love this place. We love the story. The long family tradition. We thought it was THE place to eat on the island. We booked our reservation for my daughter's birthday. The food took a LONG time to arrive. We had 2 children and they were getting impatient by the end. Also very disappointed that we asked for a birthday candle for the desert, and they didn't have any.
Excellent food; excellent service. Our waitress was knowledgeable but not pushy or upsale-ish. First time back in 15 years, and enjoyed the dining and the memories. Please don’t change a thing! We love the old Galveston feel. Thank you.
Very good seafood restaurant in Galveston. As good now as 60 years ago when my wife first went as a child. Only issue was a couple of women at a nearby table with their kids. Women were too drunk and too loud.
Fresh seafood well prepared and presented. Vadim was our server who was exquisite. Everything was wonderful. I loved the quiet ambience that was conducive to conversation.
Always a great experience in an amazing atmosphere. Gaidos has been around in one form or another for over 100 years. They continue to be timely and yet timeless. Friendly folks in all capactities from the host/hostess to the bartender to the wait staff -- they are there to make you feel at home and provide you the absolutely best meal you will ever have!
In town for a conference and took nieces out
Our dining experience was great, mainly due to our waiter "Dave" He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. He was very attentive to us and our needs. Will ask for him on our next visit.
Our experience at Gaido's Seafood Restaurant was wonderful. The ambiance was great and our server, Elena, was absolutely attentive to our needs. I would definitely recommend this place and look forward to returning! =)
Delicious, creative seafood dishes. Bread is served with a garlicky basil olive oil.
Delicious seafood with a great view of the ocean- worth the $$. Loved the Mahi Mahi, think it was Mahi Michael (was the feature) . (Have had(It is expensive.)
The redfish was some of the best I've ever had. We drove from The Woodlands and felt it was worth every mile we had to drive!
My wife were celebrating our 65th wedding anniversary. We've been eating at Gaido's since 1972, have never had a bad experience.
I’ve been eating at Gaido’s for as long as I can remember. My favorite restaurant!
We had a spectacular meal at Gaidos. We've been coming for years and it never disappoints. This time, on our servers recommendation we tried the creme brulée. It was out of this world. The service was just the best, our server Vadim did a great job keeping us happy.
Great server from Romania! Excellent service and very helpful on local hints.
The seafood was excellent, the service was outstanding. The key lime cheese cake was a little too tart for my taste, but my wife loved it. Highly recommend!!
Amazing, our server Mackenzie was amazing
Fantastic!! The food was wonderful. It was great dining experience. If you have the opportunity make sure Elena is your server and it will be well worth it.
Lovely dinner before heading out on a cruise. Gaido’s is our favorite restaurant in Galveston. We are never disappointed with our choice!
Gaido's never disappoints. The crab-artichoke dip with crusty bread was a revelation. Our server was knowledgeable and kept our glasses full. There were a lot of people there and we could hear their conversations but not enough to be annoying. I will be back next time I'm in town!
Business Dinner...Excellent Service, Excellent Food.
A special night out for a very good friend. We were not disappointed
Awesome....one word .....awesome...service was great, food was awesome. Romantic setting
Fantastic experience- great food and service. This is old school dining at its best. This was my first time here dining with my husband and we would definitely come back.
We had a wonderful time. The service was excellent. The food was wonderful, don't forget the desert!
Phenomenal experience! Food was superb, and service was exceptional! Vidam, our server, was one of the best we've ever had! Attentive without hovering, perfect timing, and completely aware of the needs of his entire section (I used to be a fine dining server years ago, so I pay attention to these details, and I'm pretty critical.) Vidam was on point all night! Best oysters OTHS I've ever had. Shrimp bisque was up there in the top 2-3 as well! Everything else we ate was absolutely wonderful as well... Perfectly prepared and in readily flavorful. All-in-all, it was a supremely enjoyable experience, and we'll definitely make Gaidos a regular stop on our Galveston trips.
