About Gaido's Seafood Restaurant
The toast of the Texas coast.
How can frozen fish be called fresh? The answer for anyone with snap is simple: it can’t. That’s why Gaido’s is the classic choice for fresh Gulf seafood. Patrons know Gaido’s is real, when others are clearly not. From red snapper and blue crab to white tablecloths crumbed with panache, there’s no denying Gaido’s is one-of-a-kind in a world of imitation. Now, after four generations of filleting, frying, grilling and baking, Gaido’s has grown into the picture perfect place of traditions– birthdays, anniversaries, retirements, reunions. As the largest fresh fish house on the coast, Gaido’s can serve up to 2,500 happy diners a day. Plus, with the Pelican Club, private dining, catering, a new food truck and parking galore…it’s easy to see why Gaido’s -– for over 100 years – is truly the coastal classic.

Gaido's Seafood Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
The highlight of our dining experience was our server, Vince. He was extremely attentive, friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. He definitely knew his fish and described each dish to us, making us want to try everything! Great restaurant. Delicious food. We'll definitely be back.
Travelled to Galveston to experience The Dickens on the Strand event and booked a table at Gaido’s for the evening we arrived. Both my wife and I have eaten here as kids with our families years ago but neither as adults. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and remembered many old stories about Galveston vacations and dining at Gaido’s! The shrimp (both grilled and fried) were excellent and the baked potatos were perfect too. Our server was pleasant and attentive but not intrusive. A simple meal that was prepared correctly in a fun and for us a nostalgic setting made this a very enjoyable evening.
Gaido's consistently delivers great seafood, in a setting suitable for the elegant or casual diner. Portions are generous and service is consistently excellent. The pace of a meal is a bit leisurely, so for a quick run-of-mill fried seafood platter you might try somewhere else.
My wife and I were in Galveston on vacation, and wanted seafood. I had been to Gaido’s before but it had been a while, and she had never been, so it was a pretty new experience for both of us. We were not disappointed. The food (the blackened combination platter for me, the red snapper for her) was on point and the service from Keenan was attentive but not obtrusive.
You’ll pay more than a lot of seafood restaurants in Galveston, but it’s very much a “you get what you pay for” situation.
While pricey for lunch, the Redfish and fried oysters more than met expectations. Both entrees were outstanding and perfectly prepared. You can't go wrong with either the grilled asparagus or the parmesan tomatoes as your side. Coffee was smooth and rich. The on-site prepared bread and herb oil presented when we sat down.....well, can I say that we were hard pressed to save room for the rest of our lunch? Oh my! Everything from start to finish, including the service by Brittani was outstanding. We eat early lunch on an off season Saturday and by the time we left, they were getting busy. Worth the drive from Houston!
Special destination for us from Austin! Well worth the trip! Gaido's is an institution and deservedly so. Extensive menu - and everything is so delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed the Famous Seafood Platter. Shrimp scampi is mouth watering and totally satisfying! Attentive and thoughtful service and you leave with a feeling that you want to come back very soon!
Went on a Saturday afternoon as part of a group of four. We were seated at the appointed reservation time. Server was very accommodating of our very social bunch. This is an "old line" upscale beach restaurant with views across the road of the beach.
Food was very good, comfort style - sides were parmesean broiled tomatoes, asparagus, potatoe wedges.
Gumbo was a dark brown style with shrimp and very tasty.
All in the party were happy with their entrees- salmon. Large fried shrimp. Crab stuffed shrimp. Fried soft shell crabs - just had to get th even though it was an odd time of year - and they were delightful.
No desserts were ordered.
Good food, good service and would return again.
