Gaido's Seafood Restaurant
How can frozen fish be called fresh? The answer for anyone with snap is simple: it can’t. That’s why Gaido’s is the classic choice for fresh Gulf seafood. Patrons know Gaido’s is real, when others are clearly not. From red snapper and blue crab to white tablecloths crumbed with panache, there’s no denying Gaido’s is one-of-a-kind in a world of imitation. Now, after four generations of filleting, frying, grilling and baking, Gaido’s has grown into the picture perfect place of traditions– birthdays, anniversaries, retirements, reunions. As the largest fresh fish house on the coast, Gaido’s can serve up to 2,500 happy diners a day. Plus, with the Pelican Club, private dining, catering, a new food truck and parking galore…it’s easy to see why Gaido’s -– for over 100 years – is truly the coastal classic.

Sasha was an excellent waiter.
Great seafood selection - fresh and delicious.
We always savor our time at Gaido's. The food is outstanding - the best seafood restaurant we know.
Food was wonderful except for the rice and bacon wrapped shrimp. The bacon wrapped shrimp was sweet and I just don’t like sweet flavors with my savory food. They were super nice when I messed up my reservation and still seated us. Our server was very sweet and told us about the history of the place.
Be sure to make a reservation. Even though they have tons of tables they don’t always have the staff to handle a full restaurant.
Attentive staff and amazing food.
Some of the best seafood in Galveston. Glad they take reservations. Very good menu choices. The wait staff were great too.
Last night a Guido's I had one of the top 10 meals I have ever eaten: Whole flounder, deboned, stuffed with a fabulous dressing, broiled and covered with lump crab meat. It took me awhile to eat it all, but I did, knowing that likely I would never taste anything that good again. It was so good, I'd almost eat it again tonight—except it was a special and is not always on the menu.
The service was impeccable and the inside of the restaurant was far more charming than the exterior hinted. The food was very tasty and but for a few adjustments the rating would be higher. The bread was delicious and our entrees were beautifully presented.
We celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary and the food was outstanding! Spinach dip with lump crab meat was a huge portion. The home made bread loaf was unbelievable and the pecan pie was a perfect finish to a great meal!
Have heard about Gaido’s for years .... all good . We were not disappointed!!! Food was excellent, service outstanding!!! I would recommend for any occasion!
I have eaten her since I was about 4 yrs old. I’m now 63. Friday, I took my wife for her birthday. I haven’t been in about 20 years as I lived out of state. My favorite dish was always the stuffed flounder. It was not on the menu anymore, but was the social, so without asking, that’s what I orderedworth at today’s prices. . Imagine my surprise when I was charged $53 for r $23, and that’s about what flounder is flounder! I had mesquite grilled flounder at Goodes Gulf Seafood for $23. That was worth the money. Yours was not.
Gaido's is an iconic Texas restaurant for a reason. The service is impeccable and the food is prepared with fresh ingredients using recipes that have stood the test of time. Our family of five had a great eveing at this Texas treasure.
Best in the area for steak or seafood. Wonderful service
Gaidos is as billed, a good seafood restaurant in galveston. Unfortunately, the potential seaside views actually look out over the parking lot. A little overpriced and living off its reputation. Oftentimes, busloads of tourists. I think lunch is actually better, not so crowded.
Food once again is great!! Our server, Miguel, was outstanding in getting us out in time to make our theater curtain. After being off its game for awhile, Gaido’s is back in top form.
We have not been to Gaido's in years and were pleasantly surprised. The stuffed trout was excellent and enough for both of us. The waiter was attentive giving very good service. We will be back soon.
Our waiter Kevin was the best
The dinner was amazing too
Marshall was a delight. Joe at the front desk is always cheerful and welcoming. It's as much the people as it is the view and the food. And the food is unsurpassed. There are probably 100 seafood restaurants in Galveston. And yet we always go to Gaidos. You can't beat perfection. Their shrimp salad is the bomb and I'd walk a mile barefoot for Wade's shrimp bisque. Now I've made myself hungry again. Gaidos. The best!
This used to be a reasonably priced restaurant. Now it is very overpriced. And we left when we saw the prices on the menu.
Fantastic! WIll go again next time I'm in Galveston.
This establishment has a nice ambiance but the food did not meet our expectations. The only thing I enjoyed was the House Salad with the Honey Pecan Vinaigrette. My Mojito was more alcohol than I expected, which was nice, but the balanced flavor was lacking. The presentation was awful. We also ordered the VooDoo. It was fruity and just okay. The Mahi Mahi was the thinnest, over blackened piece of fish I’ve ever had. It was served on a bed of rice with no flavor and steamed asparagus. We also ordered crab stuffed shrimp. Not good either. Let’s just say when we were leaving the restaurant we overheard a couple complaining about the food quality and requesting a refund. We seriously contemplated asking for our money back as well. We had high hopes and were sorely disappointed. The waiters and waitresses literally yell the specials of the evening at you. Not sure why, but it was odd.
An amazing dinner with American red snapper and flounder ordered. So delicious. Prepared to a T.
Great food and service. A bit pricey. The oysters were fresh and the crab was fantastic. The fish specials and the shrimp and grits were delicious.

The service was good and the food outstanding. The waitress told us the specials of the night but didn't divulge the price until asked. I like for everything to be told upfront without having to ask.
We had a great corner table by the window for our party of 7 as we celebrated our Grandson’s 18th birthday! We enjoyed every minute. Our waiter, Dave, was very good and very personable. Food was prepared just as I asked and tasted wonderful. Everyone was very pleased with our service and the whole experience. We will go again.
The food and the service were both superb! Richard was our waiter...said he had been there 20 years and shared lots of history of the restaurant with us.
This an expensive place to eat but the flavor and quality of the food is definitely worth the money. I went in jeans and a tee shirt and I felt under dressed though there were many others also dressed casually. Our server was a little slow and seemed to disappear as soon as we needed something but was professional and ever so courteous.
Simply fantastic! Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants an awesome dining experience. We had the Red Snapper dinner, marvelous!
Very pricy but snapper was delicious. This is more a special occasion place for us not on the usual list of choices due to price.
The service was great. The gumbo was just ok. All the rest of the food was really good.
We celebrated 20 years of friendship and birthdays. Our server showed great care and professionalism. The food was a step above especially the chargrilled mahi mahi and creamed spinach. The atmosphere was upscale and pleasant.
Gaido's seemed understaffed the night we dined there. Our waiter, Justin, was excellent, but it was obvious that he, and the rest of the staff, was overextended. Gaido's is always at least good, and often excellent, but in our opinion is a little overpriced. Every time we eat there, we're satisfied with the food and the experience, but always feel we paid too much for it. On the other hand, some of their food items are literally the best on the Island!
It was recommended to us and lived up to the rave review. All food was excellent, wonderful presentation, great service. We’ll be by.
Gaido's is a Family Heritage Restaurant with family memories dating back to 1930's. If you go to Galveston you have to visit Gaido's.
Gaido’s is trying to do a lot better recently. For awhile it was going down. I appreciate their effort and I again can recommend them.
We will be back soon. The food and the server were on point. It’s was our first time there for my birthday and we will be back soon.
The service was below par so was the food. Expensive for the quality.
Probably best option in town.
Very fresh seafood and done just right. Good wine selection.
A bit pricey for portions.
Gaido’s is amazing! Such great fish, and the bisque is to die for!
