Always, consistently good. Been going here for almost 20’years and were never disappointed. Gave and his entire staff make you feel like you’re just as important as all of the celebrities that eat there. And it’s like eating at an old friends place. Warm, and inviting and always so delicious. No airs, not stuffy, but understated class. Highly recommend without reservation!
Wonderful, creative food; one of the best waiters we’ve ever had anywhere! Can’t wait to go back!
An excellent meal with rather large portions. Efficient and friendly service. Close to Lincoln Center. The only drawback is that prices are a bit high.
Friendly. Reliable. Close to Lincoln Center for pre- or post- concerts.
Wonderful place to have great food. The menu choices are just right. The service was efficient.
We had not been back to Gabriel's in several years, but did so this weekend after the ballet. We were so happy we did. We were warmly welcomed personally by Gabriel who found us a quiet seat as requested. The food and service was outstanding. My tuna with fresh beets and spinach was perfectly cooked. All the desserts were delicious. We couldn't have been happier. To our delight, they brought us prosecco on the house along with an extra dessert. It was a fun evening and our waiter was entertaining and full of good information. This is a great place for pre or post theater meal. The bar is also very welcoming. This is a neighborhood find with a lot of personality and charm in a warm inviting environment.
it happens to be one of my favorites on the west side!!
Nice, neighborhood type restaurant (if your neighborhood is Columbus Circle). Good food, good service, quiet crowd.
The Bronzino main dish was very good, but the endive, apple and blue cheese salad and grilled calamari appetizer were outstanding!
Fantastic! From the moment we walked in, welcomed by one of the owners; to the superb service - which did not want for anything; to the delicious food...mmmm. Can’t wait to go back. This is definitely on the list for repeat.
We always enjoy our meal at this restaurant. The service is impeccable. There is always someone there to make sure you have everything you need without feeling as if you are constantly being interrupted. For me service and food quality is very important. Excellent location for Lincoln Center Jazz or for the Opera at Lincoln center. I don't feel it is too expensive for the experience. It is good value for the service and the quality of the food. There are always specials which keep the menu interesting.
Authentic Italian close to Columbus Circle. I love the ribs meat over soft polenta!
Very nice restaurant, friendly, excellent service, and a good restaurant week menu.
The short ribs were great.
Gabriel's had an excellent Restaurant Week lunch menu! The homemade burrata mozzarella was SO creamy! My beef short ribs were succulent and perfectly-spiced, and their famous rice pudding was rich and choc vull of vanilla flavor. I had a nice glass of prosecco. Everything was cooked to perfection and well-proportioned. The wait staff was impeccable!!! And so friendly without being overbearing.
Was amazing- we had the restaurant week menu..had the mussels, short ribs, and rice pudding..a deal and amazing. We go regularly- this makes us want to go more!! Slam dunk win for food and service..and Gabriel is just too nice. Oh..and that olive oil!! To die for!! Go!!
Always enjoy dining at Gabriel's! Food and service are exceptional.
Gabriel's is a neighborhood gem, in Open Table's phrase, with exceptionally good Italian food. My friend and I met to talk, and far too uncommon in Manhattan restaurants, we actually could talk, even though the restaurant was nearly full. I had the beet salad and then the ravioli filled with butternut squash, which was the Platonic ideal of ravioli-filled-with-butternut-squash. My friend had a caesar salad and then mussels. We each loved our dishes. If the butternut squash ravioli weren't so good, I'd branch out in my dinner choices, but when you find perfection, you stick with it.
Pricey but excellent food. Restaurant Week is a great deal for those who can’t afford the restaurant otherwise. Owner Gabriel is very visible and a peach.
The food was good but very small portions. The service was mediocre and with some attitude. The guy running the pepper grinder was not happy to grind. The bread crust was very hard. Beers were $10 each RIP OFF. I would not recommend this restaurant. Ruth's Chris or Tavern on the Green are much better in both experience and value.
We did meet at Gabriel's for restaurant week. I y ought the selections were imaginative. Although we did tell them that we didn't have concert or show plans, I felt the staff was overly efficient, asking if we were done multiple times before we were and though there wasn't a wait for our table I did feel like we were a bit rushed. The food, wine and ambiance was lovely.
Very efficient and attentive service. Absolutely delicious meal.
Although our server was not familiar with the menu or wine list, she was charming. Most crucially the food, especially the quail pasta and the spicy goat were both interesting, delicious, and creative.... Gabriel's is a gem
Great food. Lovely staff was nice to us.
Old Reliable us back on its game again. Why can’t more NYC restaurants be as comfortable and as adult as this one is??
Always a favorite of mine, I had not been to Gabriel's for quite a while. So great to be back! A group of us with January Birthdays gathered for a joint celebration and the whole evening was a blast. Edison, our server, was exceptional - full of fun and great suggestions and always at the ready with just the right amount of pampering. When I made the reservation, I told Gabriel's that all five of us were having birthdays. They suggested a dessert surprise and asked me for every guest's identity. As the meal concluded, each of us was presented with a different customized confection - suitable for sharing - and decorated with celebratory candles and our names spelled out in frosting. Plus complimentary flutes of champagne. Truly a special evening. Thank You Gabriel's!!!!
It was clean. It was in a good spot, close to subway. It was in a great neighborhood. The food was good. The service was odd - a waiter that came up and just started talking about the menu but without pleasantries. The place was not packed but they came to pick up the check twice and we weren't ready yet - we were taking up a table for 80 minutes max from start to finish. The shining spot was the young man who greeted us , I think Gabriel, was the most personable of all. Pricey for lunch.
I have enjoyed Gabriels MANY times before going to Lincoln Center or Dizzys . What I enjoyed was really quite good ( not great) but good food and a fantastic bartender and great ambience plus close to where I attend concerts.....but this time I tried the restaurant week menu. We were seated 7:30 and told our server we needed to leave for a concert at 8:20 .....our appetizers which were MINUTE salads on a plate about the size of a tea saucer arrived in about 10 minutes then we waited 23 minutes for our main courses.. the chicken dish passable if you like a ton of salt only- my fish was delicious but the piece was about 2x21/2 inches!!!!! I am not exaggerating! That is ridiculous to serve aomeone for dinner and 23 min is too long to wait between an app and a main dish if you aren’t drinking and having a leisurely dinner which we made clear we were not.
We ate quickly ....after all a 1/3rd size serving of a piece of fish does not take long to eat and the chicken was too salty to eat much of....our waiter no where to be found and it was now 8:20 I asked another waiter for our check got it right away and at 8:25 our waiter arrives with dessert and takes the check - of course we had no time to eat dessert......so disappointing. I will probably go back due to venue and location but feel a “shame on you” for the ridiculous restaurant week servings and poor poor service
Always superb! Gabriel makes sure that everyone has a wonderful time. Have the Restaurant week special right now, but you can never go wrong here.
we've come here for about 20 years. The place gets better all the time. Thank you Gabriel 1
Friendly professional service at bar & in dining room. Very nice menu. We only had pasta - which was delicious -& bottle of wine, so did not sample the entrees that all sounded delicious. Thought the price was rather high for what we ordered, but the quality was very good.
The staff made us feel very welcome and we had a good table in the middle of the restaurant.
The staff knew it was my husbands birthday and they lit a candle on pudding, which was a nice gesture!
We’d definitely go back to eat there again
Gabriel's never disappoints. It is surely one of the best restaurants in New York City.
Gabriel and his team make you feel like family!
Gabriel's is dependably good, courteous and friendly. In an area of excellent restaurants, Gabriel's offers reliable service and predictable dishes but its menu doesn't offer particularly memorable dishes. Its great asset is its lively, energetic atmosphere (when I've been there anyway).
perfect for pre Lincoln Center
professional service, delicious food. They have been in business for years for a reason .
combination of food and service cannot be beat...always a great night out
Our food was hot, fresh and visually pleasing. It was delicious, too! We enjoyed the meal.
Always superb Italian cuisine convenient to Lincoln Center
Wonderful service. Good food. Wines by the glass on the expensive side. Would come here again
