This is a first rate restaurant from start to finish. We were warmly greeted when we walked in and promptly taken to a table. Our server was attentive. Specials recited (sans prices) a personal bugaboo. We had shared a salad and burrata to start. Salad was lightly dressed and burrata was fresh. My wife had mussels appetizer for a main meal. It was a good portion in a tomato based broth. Not one dud. I had the spinach stuffed moon shaped ravioli which was superb and made freshly in house. We shared an excellent chocolate gelato for dessert. My only criticism is pricing but as in most instances you get what you pay for.

Food is good but somewhat expensive. We usually come for lunch. Service is adequate but
lacks warmth or friendly attitude. Convenient location near Lincoln Center is a plus.

Seated immeidaitely despite the fact we were 20 minutes early for our reservation- plus. Bad news is we were seated next to in/out door of kitchen. Server was friendly and generally attentive- wanted to rush us- "can I take your drink order, are you ready to order your food"- all in 2 min of sitting.
Food was okay- nothing special. While there are many better restaurants in the area, Gabriel's is fine if you are going to Lincoln Center or the nearby movies. would not go out of my way to eat here. It has been about 10 years since we last ate in Gabriel's, think it has gone downhill. Will be another 10 years till we return unless we are in a rush for mediocre food to get to Lincoln Center.

They were very a accommodating from the beginning and the service overall was very professional. Food was really good although they didn’t have family style dishes. Walking distance (2 blocks) from the Lincoln center

Another wonderful meal. The menu is not same-old-same-old, same-old. The room is quiet, even when full. What a joy! Service is attentive and timely, with no searching for the wait-staff. I had the Kid Arrabbiata and it is a spectacular dish, one that is not found in other menus. It's spicy and warm, perfect for a cold night. Great wine list. It's hard to defend going above 23rd St. for much, but Gabriel's is worth the trip.

I always have a good time at Gabriel's. I would characterize the food as italian comfort food. The portions are large so be aware of this when ordering. I had carpaccio which was very good and tagliatelle with shrimp and scallops. I thought the shrimp were a bit overcooked. There was more than enough food. With the carpaccio, I had a glass of brunello. I haven't seen brunello by the glass at many restaurants. Since brunello is one of my favorites, I liked that there were by the glass service.

I haven't been to Gabriel's in a while. The service was much better than I remember from previous visits. The host/hostess were very welcoming. My server was great, funny, suggesting wine for my entrée, etc. It is very nice to have a pleasant server when eating alone.

Gabriel's is a great neighborhood style italian in a neighborhood no longer known for its local restaurants (more high end places which are nice but not neighborhood). These types of restaurants are a dying breed given the economics of Manhattan. I will be back.

Arrabiata you bet I'm mad.
The food at Gabriel's is just awful. I was dining there with my husband whom in the past has frequented this establishment and we were both shocked at how terrible it was.
For my first course I ordered the burratta which arrived as if it were gelato, ice cold and nearly frozen on top of a grainy pathetic tomato. My husband received the squash soup which was served in a bowl more suited to rice crispies than a cream soup. I should have taken these as clues of things to come, but could it be that bad? You bet.
For my main course I ordered the goat arrabiata which was presented in a large pile of what my aunt would have called a dog's breakfast surrounded dutifully by a corona of snow peas. Chow down on those mange-tout. Below the shredded brown mass were soggy reheated potato slices, probably left overs from the lunch service. This was a shocking meal and the worst that I have ever eaten in New York city. Coming from a native New Yorker that's saying a lot.

We had particularly attentive waitress to every pone of our requests - greeting us with a smile each time we were served. We have dined at Gabriel's a number of times after Cabaret performance at the Time Warner building, right around the corner.

Salads, pasta dish with seafood, veal chip desserts - all wonderful and nicely presented.
Very warm, friendly ambience. Well deserved reputation for classic Italian food.

The food and the service were great, and the acoustics were great too - the restaurant was quiet enough that my friend and I had no difficulty hearing each other, despite being seated near the bar and next to another occupied table. Both of our meals were fantastic, and the roasted garlic was a wonderful complement to the pastas. Highly recommended for the pre-theater crowd!

This is one of my regular restaurants when I am in New York for the opera or theater. The food is wonderful, the service is excellent, and the location is perfect, especially for going to Lincoln Center. I appreciate how the staff welcomes me, whether I am alone or in a group--they always make me feel at home. Luciano, Raul, and Eddy are outstanding waiters, and the bartender is great as well. A neighborhood treasure!

I can't say enough about how much we enjoy dining at Gabriels. The menu is expansive, the food fresh and beautifully prepared. This restaurant is my only choice for pre-theatre at Jazz at Lincoln Center and Lincoln Center performances.

Gabriels has been our place to go pre and post theatre for many years. I always pleased by the high quality of the food. We love the beet salad or the arugula with shaved Parmesan. I had the special flounder with a Lemon caper sauce that was to die for. I was mopping up the remaining sauce with my bread. Table mates had the roast chicken and one of their many terrific pasta dishes. The fact is you just can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The service is impeccable; the wait staff has been there for many years and treat you like an old friend. It's also a great place to people watch if you're looking for a Lincoln Center celebs.

The food is very good with a wide selection for a smallish menu. You can always count on the salads and pasta. Tables are a little too close together, but if that helps to keep the prices from getting out of hand . . .

Upon entering we were greeting by an uninterested hostess. Our server was equally as uninterested. Upon ordering glasses of wine we were not offered a tasting but rather the vintage was merely dumped into our glasses. Our server rarely made eye contact nor inquired about our meal. The menu is limited in scope to say the least. The fettuccine is tasty. However, the overall attitude is unacceptable. Would not recommend nor shall we return for a repeat performance. Adios, Gabriel's.

A friend and I enjoyed a fine middle of summer quiet Thursday lunch in this wonderful restaurant just west of Central Park, Columbus Circle and the Time Warner Building. It was a thoroughly enjoyable meal. We heard others saying highly complimentary things as they left. We liked the creative cucumber soup, special fish and special ravioli of the day, very good espresso gelato and blood orange sorbet, the popular chocolate dessert. The requested light gin and tonics were perfect and the Pinot noir was pleasant. Gabriel's and Asiate across the street in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel are my favorite restaurants in the area.

Great food, fresh and extremely well prepared. Everything we tasted there was top notch. Creative, but not in such a way as to dilute essential Italian quality. Very personable owner/manager sees to it that things are done right, and that the diner is happy. Great place at which to dine ahead of Lincoln Center evening performance, or Saturday Matinee. My first choice in the area.
