We enjoyed the restaurant very much good service ,food was very good. I would like to go again in the new location when it is ready.
Neighbourhood standby and survivor ! Totally reliable and satisfying re: food and attentive service. Also convenient for pre- performance at Lincoln Center.
Gonna miss this place when it moves😢
My husband and I are enormously grateful to Gabriel for accommodating us in what amounted to a private dining room, after the disastrous loss of a walker wheel. We could not have been happier or more appreciative. The food was fantastic, better than ever. We loved our salvaged evening. A thousand thanks.
Gabriel is the most gracious of hosts. Food is always so well prepared and delicious and the service is impeccable.
We are out of towners but have been coming here for well over 25 years on almost every trip to the city.
Wish Gabriel well in the new location and will visit again soon.
Sad to learn it will be closing soon. Hope they will find a new location.
LOVE this restaurant and hope it reopens in a new location in future. Didn't have a fabulous experience on Wednesday. Didn't love the tuna crudo, not flavorful enough and giant chunks of tuna. Not sure hummus is the best garnish. Pasta of the day with shrimp and scallops was just OK, pasta was mushy and full of onions, which were not mentioned in the description. It wasn't as great a pasta as I have expected at Gabriel's.
Ate yet another great $35 three course lunch - delicious filet mignon cooked to perfection - love the ambience, most attractive room. Restaurant is closing this month and will re-open in different location in October/November. Suggest you eat there soon - am sad to see it move.
We had a very unfortunate conversation with the Maitre d'. Tuna was ordered med/rare, and it came to the table looking grey/beige, was the size and shape of a thick filet of meat, and when my guest cut it, it was not med/rare. Our waitress was very nice, but unable to do anything about it and had to ask the manager to come to our table. He was surly and argumentative, but finally agreed to take it back to the kitchen, and my guest ordered the veal chop instead. This conversation never should have happened! When anything comes to a table, and it was not "as ordered", there should be NO argument about it, and should generate an apology instead of an argument. It was very uncomfortable moment, and I was tempted to return his rudeness but did not, because I have been dining at Gabriel's since the mid-80s, and it's my "go to" restaurant more than many others. I've never seen such terrible service, as we experienced that evening. It was shocking. My Octopus, the wine and the veal shop were very good, and so was dessert. That's why I gave the experience a much higher rating than a wanted to.
I would rather have peanut butter and crackers. Terrible food. Ordered the veal Milanese special. It was gross. The butternut squash pasta was disgraceful. The “homemade” gelato so sub par.
Great place, great food and drinks, quiet, very pleasant ambience
Attractive restaurant - good food - quiet - attentive service - great lunch special of 3 courses for $35 - I had the best filet mignon. Restaurant is closing 3rd week July and will reopen early November in Central Park South. I suggest you visit now - this is a special place.
Consistently excellent. We have been coming here for years, it is always great.
We have been going to Gabriel's for as long as it has been in this location--which was not a pretty address when it started--but is now pretty much in the center of the world. (Even longer a customer of Gabriel, himself, when he was downtown.) It was and is a glorious spot to dine, especially if you like the feeling of being in someone's excellent dining room, with friendly, reliable service from people you have grown to know over the years. It is a menu and a place sui generis. I doesn't look, feel or taste like any other place. And you can have a conversation, frequently, while sitting a few tables away from someone pretty famous. And oh, yes, the best Martinis in town.
Service was awful. For a restaurant that is as expensive as Gabriel’s, I expected much more. Won’t be back.
Excellent service and amazing food. Took our CEO there while in town. He is very discerning and loves good food. We requested quick service and they delivered! Thank you
Wonderful food. Veal milenqse, lamb, superb! Great service. Family owned and they care!!
The food is very good; we tried a wonderful starter which was some sort of cold cucumber soup and our mains of seabass and gnocchi were very tatsteful. The tiramasu was a delightful finale. We left happy and feeling we had paid top dollar for such happiness.
sure going to miss the location and the ambience of my home away from home but look forward to celebrating when they are in their new location!
This is a great place, a longtime standard in the Lincoln Center area, serving hearty portions of superb Italian cuisine, including some unusual dishes like kid arabbiata. It's a shame that they're losing their lease and will close next month. Let's hope Gabriel's will reopen soon!
Wonderful pre-theater dinner, food and service. Would return again, walking distance to Lincoln Center. Thank you for an enjoyable dinner.
Usual welcoming service and wonderful cuisine. Always a pleasure to meet friends here for a great dining experience.
G's was the perfect choice for us and our two guests. Thank you
We LOVE Gabriel's!! The food, the service, the hosts are truly the BEST!
We have diner at Gabriel’s at least once a year when we are visiting NYC from San Diego.
Our experience is always very positive.
Food and service and ambiance are wonderful.
We are sorry to hear about the relocation but we will definitely try the new spot once it opens!
Very convient for JALC.
Always gets you out on time.
As has been consistently the case for 30 years, the food and overall experience at Gabriel’s was top notch!
Very attentive service. Intimate but lively atmosphere
Food is always delicious and the service is excellent.
Fantastic restaurant! Can’t wait to see its new location.
Gabrilel's is simply a wonderful restaurant, serviced by a caring wait staff and kitchen. After attending a rehearsal at Lincoln Center, I usually choose a restaurant right across the street, and always feel dissatisfied. Instead, we walked the 4 blocks over to lunch at Gabriel's and it was like stepping into a yummy serene atmosphere. I highly recommend.
This is an example of a perfectly run restaurant. Every part of the machine works. We’ve eaten there forty times and it’s just as good as the first time. Not quite sure how Gabriel does it. But he does it.
Top notch food and environment, both for business and family events. Gabriel himself is always present and super welcoming to all.
Appetiser (mussels) were okay. Talyatelle with sea food, awful. Price - very high.
Restaurants should prohibit cell phone usage. Unfortunately, there was a very loud & boisterous man seated at the bar using his cell. Sounded like he was interviewing for a job somewhere out of the country. When he finally took a bathroom break, it was apparent he had too much to drink. I was seated at a table.
Rather than ask him to lower his voice, the hostess offered to move me to the back of the restaurant:-(
One of my favorite neighborhood restaurants.
Service is fantastic. You can always rely on their recommendations.
Food was great. Had a dietary restriction which they accommodated. Portions were large. Service was fine.
I enjoyed a delicious late dinner at Gabriels
The food was outstanding and we were not rushed at all,
even though it was very late in the evening
The restaurant aims to please.
