Amazing meal! Outstanding service!
With three other diners. We had the pork chops, lamb, duck, and trout entrees. All were excellent with large portions. Great meal with excellent service.
I discovered this place last year and it is amazing and off the charts. The barbecue shrimp pie and the duck entrée are the best I’ve ever tasted.
She crab soup and the duck soup starters were the best. Double pork chop was good but on dry side. The fish dish from the menu was a skimpy size filet that decreased value of overall food experience. Wine and cocktails were very good. Our lady hostess and waitress were very professional and helpful. The male waiter was not.
Our waiter, Patty, provided great suggestions on food and drink selection. We had the night's appetizer special, which was a oyster, artichoke bake. It was very tasty. My wife had the fish of the day, which was a drum that was sitting on top of crabcake. I had the duck, which was very flavorful. We closed the meal out with apple upside-down bread pudding. This was a great meal. I will definitely come again.
This is one of my favorite restaurants of all time. This visit didn’t disappoint. The duck and rabbit were world class
Excellent and friendly service. Flavorful gumbo with the best tasting sausage. I will be going back the next time I'm in New Orleans.
We love Gabrielle! Our neighborhood favorite. Nelson is so friendly and remembers us each time we visit.
Our server, Katherine, was great-/friendly,accommodating, and professional. We thought the crab bisque was too thin, and that it didn’t have enough crab. The tomatoes in the tomato salad were cold and therefore tasteless. If not for those two factors we would give the food and the value higher ratings
Good food good service. A little more noise than I like
Rediscovered this gem. I hadn't been before, but my wife had in their earlier incarnation. Everything was fabulous. The food was great. The only thing we might comment on was to get the specials to the diners before they order drinks as it may change the drink order. Like everywhere in New Orleans, parking was a little challenge, but not to be a problem. Our server was prompt and very conscientious. Definitely a 'go-back' place.
The food and service was excellent!
Gabrielle was wonderful! So glad they are open for lunch on Fridays!
Good not distinctive. Need more seafood, veggie options. Presentations were lacking. Really wanted to love this place but...
The gentleman trying to serve the restaurant was very good. Extremely talented, knowledgeable of the restaurant and menu. Problem was not with the server, but with the restaurant having only one person to try to serve every table in the restaurant and serve as the bartender too. Very understaffed.
It’s a small menu, but everything sounds delicious and our plates sure were. The quail gumbo was a dark roux and yummy. The fish was so delicious, light and crispy with a great sauce. The veal was so great with what looked like fresh pasta. Also a small restaurant but decorated nicely, really cute. Neighborhood is okay.
The food was good and service was fine.
Such a lovely experience.
Fancy southern creole food with an upscale price tag IMO. The service is excellent. Good French bread. My girlfriend loved it for a date.
One of best kept secrets for the locals! Love this place!
As usual, an excellent meal. The only ”disappointment” was the absence of rabbit on the dinner menu. Specifically, the ponce appetizer and the rabbit entree weren't available. Our drinks were well made and the bottle of wine was priced fairly and was a good pairing.
Gabrielle is the most enjoyable restaurant that I have visited in New Orleans. The food was outstanding.
The wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The ambiance was cozy and welcoming. Our party had Quail gumbo and the barbeque shrimp pie for appetizers. Our entrees were traiteur fish and veal chop. Dessert was the signature peppermint patti. Everything was done to perfection. When you're in New Orleans, this is a restaurant not to be missed.
I was in New Orleans for work and found Gabrielle on Open Table and decided to give it a try. What a lovely find! Small, but well-appointed, a brief menu exquisitely executed, clearly a place for locals and not tourists, Gabrielle Restaurant was all I could ask for. I enjoyed the BBQ Shrimp Pie, Slow Roasted Duck, and Lemon Chess Pie. Everything was delicious, a feast for the eyes and the mouth. I will absolutely come back next time I am in New Orleans.
Wonderful food, creatively prepared. Very friendly, warm ambiance.
We had a great time with friends! The service was so good and Gabrielle was so accommodating when we arrived early and made us feel very welcome!! Even the nice security gentleman at the door assisting with parking was a delight!
The “special drinks” were delicious as was the fabulous soft shelled crab special.
We always tell friends how much we like this restaurant and recommend that they go there.
Delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere. The staff is great and and it is a lovely restaurant.
We live in New Orleans and consider ourselves Foodies. Gabrielle is a great experience for locals and visitors alike.
We highly recommend it to anyone.
Greg - thank you for making a celebration night even more special; the food tasted as good as it looked. Kathryn couldn’t have been more gracious and personable with her service (the bread pudding was a spot-on suggestion). We look forward to returning soon.
Had the soft shell special and it was absolutely memorable, my friend had the tenderloin. Excellent!!
Excellent food, service and atmosphere! Really outstanding!
The food was fabulous and satisfying, delish!
It’s damn near perfect. Feels good in there. Very nice folks. Food excellent. Not too expensive.
Went there for our first time, for the wife's birthday and the staff acknowledged it and wished her happy birthday. Service was excellent (knowledge and attentive). Waiter made recommendations that turned out to be good choices. Food was excellent. Flounder with shrimp was great but slow cooked duck was excellent. We will go back and we strongly recommend Gabrielle to everyone!
Excellent service and the food was over the top.
We enjoyed the food, service and environment. All worth the trip!
Average meal. the specialty of house, the duck, was dry. The scallop and seafood entree were good. Service was harried. Prices a bit high for quality of food and service.
This was our second time at Gabrielle Restaurant, but our first time with friends. The service was great, and the food and drinks were wonderful. Everyone inside was engaging. Special acknowledgement goes to the Security Officer who was very attentive and courteous.
Absolutely delicious! Wonderful fresh fish and vegetables. Yummy deserts. Will be back.
Incredible food and service!! Great for hearing impaired.
