   My wife and I always have an amazing time anytime we’re at the Gabriel. The best staff and best customer service you can ask for. We felt welcome from valet until we got our food. Always a great time for us at the Gabriel!

   Wonderful meal! Our server Ann was terrific and made an exquisite wine recommendation to accompany the rack of lamb. The catch of the day was red snapper which was also delicious. We could not have celebrated a special birthday in a more perfect place. Thank you helping make our celebration an extra special memory.

    I have been enjoying breakfast at Gabrielle for the last year or so and recently noticed a change in some of their breakfast plates. The change is not a good change. The quality and quantity of the ingredients have been minimal and taste ie., the granola parfait and the French toast dishes are noticeably different. The French toast tasted like cardboard and the granola mix has been reduced to mere oats. Not good. The actual serving amounts have been reduced also and it is noted that the pricing has gone up a couple of dollars. Very disappointed as this has been one of my go to breakfast places in town. Will wait for chef changeover or hopefully the kitchen will revert back to what it once was.

    Great place for a date night, but if you want a little more intimacy I'd pick somewhere else. You're pretty close to the hotel lobby and the open design makes for a fairly noisy evening.

    Birthday weekend! The Bennett and Gabrielle treated my husband and I like royalty. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. The food was exquisite and the cocktails were delicious.

    This was my first time going to Gabrielle and I was very pleased. We came for Valentines Day and the food was absolutely fabulous! The wait staff was very knowledgeable and helpful, the food came out very quick and was high quality and a good portion. I can’t say enough about the steak! Upscale place but a laid back vibe that I appreciated.

    Valentine’s meal - memorable for the wrong reasons. No one warned that we must use an overpriced, ‘under-choiced’ VD menu with 2 choices – salmon or surf & turf -$180 pp. ‘Safe’ choices - No cutting edge or vegetarian options. Amuse bouche amused neither bouche nor purse. Bread not from Charleston’s finest baker but pull-apart rolls aka Walmart. Soup – a good idea but looked muddy from the purple potato half/ cauliflower other half. Neither had flavors that ‘sang’. Boring! It & salad salty. Salmon good but crab mousse cold. I hoped for a fantastic local fish, not a fish easily obtained in Midwest. Beef -not premium as $$$. Steak, never a restaurant choice -so easy to cook. Turf - Crab or local prep that says “Charleston” preferred to lobster. Skimpy veg amts 2 split 4” multi-colored carrots; 2 turnip slices, small potatoes. Heart dessert-clever; deconstructed tart-good, neither memorable. Michelin star pricing should create a memorable experience - each item an embodiment of perfection. One dish so transcendent that I can wax eloquent about it and write a piece for the Les Dames d’Escoffier newsletter. Service did not meet standards of an ordinary restaurant much less a 5-star hotel. While we were greeted, and after the champagne, the not busy staff seemed to treat us as invisible. My water glass down to only ice was never topped - even though glasses at nearby tables were filled. (I had to drink my husband’s water). After dessert was served, no attention was paid to us. Coffee was offered long after dessert when the bill came. Paid it and left. No rose, treat box, no ‘thank you for dining with us’. We walked out of the restaurant without anyone speaking to us or noticing. The whole meal - an expensive, unromantic mistake. As a former James Beard judge, I am appalled and disappointed as I had my heart set on renowned Charleston food and a memorable meal.

    We had the most fabulous experience at Gabrielle! The service was bar none and the food was beyond delicious. Everyone was extremely attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. Our waitress, Ann, was great and the general manager, Erich, came around to make sure all was well with the food and service. I highly recommend dining here.

    My husband and I stayed at the beautiful Hotel Bennett. The hotel is spectacular but the restaurant was mediocre. The ambience was stale. We dine at fine dining establishments often but we felt uncomfortable as the atmosphere was sterile and stale. The host (maybe manager?), a very friendly gentlemen, was attentive and polite. Our waitress was not very friendly and did not know much about the menu. Though the restaurant was nearly empty, we felt as if she was annoyed she had to wait on us. The menu selection was limited. For a fine dining restaurant inside of a hotel, I expected more variety. My spring chicken was good. My husbands risotto was excellent. I wish the restaurant offered more options for starters. The homemade gelato was very good and so was the wine selection.

    One of the best restaurants in Charleston! Hotel Bennet is 3 1/2 years old. Architecture and Décor are exceptional. Servers were attentive without be intrusive. Although selection was limited for Restaurant Week menu, however the food including soup, salad, fish and steak were prepared and served excellently and tasted delicious Although the Restaurant Week menu was expensive we were pleased with the experience.

    Service was sub-par. The food was ok, not worth the amount of money that we spent. We stay at the Hotel Bennett often, but we won’t be going back to Gabrielle. Very disappointed.

    The restaurant host was welcoming and engaging. Thanked us for choosing Gabrielle for dinner The ambiance was perfect , food menu superior. The service was a huge disappointment The reason for the over rall 3 Star rating. We believe in paying the price for superior food matched with best in class service The price point of entree upward to $60 warrants a restaurant to have staff who are familiar with the menu . Wine and liquor Available The waitress we had when asked what vodka not sure but would get the bar menu When delivered and inform her that vodka was not listed she said oh . Husband asked if bar offer Maker Mark was not sure and asked for a substitute he provided Drink came and no mention was Marker Mark. We asked and it was Maker Mark. Table next to arrived 15 minutes after we’re well taken care of … by their waiter we had to keep asking about bread ordering bill to pay Waitress appeared inexperience on juggling multiple table Spent time chatting with customers and not having an eye on the other tables We are local and have dined before… but to win the repeat customer service is key at this price point amd a dining experience

    We went for a New Years Eve dinner. We were offered a prefix menu however we were never told this was a prefix meal nor was it stated on their website or Open Table. The choices were not anything we would have wanted to order. The food was mediocre to inedible. Lamb capacia was bland, the sirloin steak was served sliced to cover up for the grisle and needed so much trimming as to make it inedible. The creme brulee was watery. It was as bad a meal as we have ever had. We live in Charleston and this is not a restaruant we would recommend to anyone. The hotel and the restaurant are pretty. The food was abysmal.

    The Hotel looked gorgeous. Christmas trees and decorations were worth the visit. Gabrielle at lunchtime was fairly empty so service should not have been as slow as it was. The room was very cold, actually it was probably warmer outside for a December day, 62 degrees. I had blue crab on a croissant and it tasted good. 3 others had the burger All were overcooked to well done...somewhat of a disappointment at this level restaurant where the chef could not have been overwhelmed with guests. Any one of these issues would not have been a problem, together it made the experience less than we expected. FYI, a cup of tea was $8 ??? Water and a tea bag? And tea was only ordered to warm up in a very cold restaurant!

    The restaurant is very beautiful and a nice environment for a meal. Service is good. The food is not what we usually experience in Charleston. The shrimp was overcooked and the grits were runny and lacking in flavor. The omelette was quality but very simple and the potatoes were cold. The drinks were very good as was the coffee.
