Great experience! Lovely decor, our server was fabulous! He is a real pro!
We had an delicious lunch at Gabrielle. Karina provided us excellent service and the chef accommodated a few special requests which we appreciated. We will definitely return for dinner.
Busy busy restaurant but absolutely amazing food!
Excellent and refined post NYE meal. One of the nicest places to eat in Charleston
The server and the chef went out of there way to provide food that was not listed on the lunch menu. It was delicious! The service was amazing! And so very friendly !
A great meal for New Year's Eve with 6 adults. The food, wine, and service were fine. We had a fait bit too much to drink and really didn't look at the bill. We added a 25% gratuity when we paid the check. Didn't realize that a gratuity was already added on the itemized receipt. After a half dozen drinks - couldn't see it at all on the 50 item list on the receipt. The waitress I am sure is happy - but it was a several hundred dollar mistake.
Beautiful hotel with excellent service. Lynne and Carina went above and beyond service in Gabrielle’s. Will definitely recommend and return.
Wonderful service and beautiful venue!
Overall, it was fair. We made reservations for Christmas Dinner and were seated in what appeared to be “overflow” seating on the second floor (second floor appeared to be a ballroom of sorts). I made the reservations based off the photos of the restaurant and unfortunately we did not get to experience that ambiance. The second floor felt like a sauna (I asked them to adjust the thermostat, and they did - so that was good). The food was ok but not the caliber I expected based off prior reviewers.
We had Christmas Eve dinner at Gabrielle. The server assistant Giovanni was outstanding. He was carrying, genuine and attentive. The rest of the staff not so much. The food was great and the ambiance really nice. We were located on the second floor and we could hear the violinist playing on the first floor, a very nice touch. We were celebrating our engagement and even thou we made a note in the reservation, that wasn't mentioned or celebrated with us at all. I do recommend dinner at Gabriele for the experience, food and Giovanni.
The food was outstanding as was the service. The hotel itself is exquisite. We had a minor issue with our reservation which was immediately resolved to our satisfaction with the manager.
We were seated upstairs which was good because the music in the lounge was too loud. The food was very good. I will say the potatoes that came with my scallops were underdone and not warm. The waitress forgot our add-on of lobster, but we were full so it was ok. The desserts were very good. However, we had to ask for coffee and then a spoon. The coffee was old and we asked for fresh, which she brought and didn’t charge us. Overall, we enjoyed our Christmas dinner and the beauty of the hotel made it special.
We went there for Christmas dinner. Got there at 5:30 finally left at 8:00 pm. Food was good, but some cabbage on rice risotto was so bitter, I couldn't eat it. As a Christmas gift to each other, we were expecting quiet soft Christmas music along with dinner. In the middle of dinner, some party DJ was playing disco music in the lounge so loud it drowned out everything. For $193, I expected much better. Won't ever go back.
Great service and a wonderful Christmas brunch meal. Everyone was so kind and we enjoyed all of the food. Highly recommend stopping by.
The food was excellent, our serving location was on the second floor, three flights of stairs up as a overflow location. Bathrooms back down on the 1st level. Service was slow to start but steady, not great. For a beverage, my wife ordered a glass of Champagne with her meal and the bill came with a 31.00 charge for the glass. My fault to a degree for not asking to see a by glass menu but I also find fault with the server not explaining that it was the only glass on the menu with alternatives being Sparking wine and Prosecco at a considerable lower cost. Will I dine there again, NO!
The entire staff was extremely friendly and the décor was absolutely wonderful! We had Christmas brunch here. The food was Delicious! Only 2 problems : my husband ordered a cup of coffee (which was a small cup and $5) that the waitress never offered to refill and the menu said the price for the desert was $8 each but they charged us $10 each. Not a big deal but a bit disappointing.
I would highly recommend this restaurant. Everything was perfect. We went to the 9th floor bar and the view of the city is magnificent; however, it was just too cold to sit outside but we will make another trip there when it warms up. They had a pianist planning Christmas songs and that made the ambiance that much more special.
Excellent food and atmosphere. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Charleston. Hard to imagine anyone being disappointed with dining at the Gabrielle.
Loved everything about Gabrielle. Food was excellent and service outstanding. Highly recommend.
We had the best 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 as a family, just us before the extended family events descended upon us 😂
The service was impeccable, in particular our waiter Matthew who was extremely patient with our little ones in terms of dinner choices and accommodated their fancy Mac and cheese request with helpful suggestions! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our duck confit and flounder entree. The highlights for the grown ups had to be the xmassy cocktails - WHAT A 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 experience, we are definitely going back :)
The overall service was excellent. Thank you to the staff at Gabrielle.
Very nice decor at The Bennett, a new hotel in Charleston. Doorman escorted us to the restaurant and service was excellent. Food was very good and drinks (beer and wine for us) were fairly priced and waiter gave me an opportunity to taste a couple of wines before ordering. His recommendation was spot on. We had the Eggs Bennett, which were like Eggs Benedict with steak instead of Canadian Bacon. I would have them salt the steak before cooking as we both think it improves the texture and flavor. We enjoyed our meal there and would return.
Great food and service!!
Excellent food, friendly staff, beautiful outdoor dining experience!
We called ahead to verify that brunch was being served, and we were assured it was available until 3pm. That was wrong, our clumsy server told us they only serve lunch food at noon on Sundays. He served our party four cups of coffee brimming with grounds and when we asked about it, said oh that only happens when we use the last of the coffee pot. Really, all four cups? Spilled the coffee, saucers were lakes. He constantly forgot the usual items like cream, sugar, napkins, and moved at a glacial pace. Two entrees were enjoyed by our group and two others were not. One order of chicken was so overcooked, dried out, and hardened that it was inedible and sent back. Overall a very disappointing experience.
The food was delicious the setting is beautiful. The service is excellent with personal attention to your guests needs and wants.
We recently moved to Charleston and just discovered Hotel Bennett and this great restaurant. The food was fantastic but the best attribute was the service that Mathieu provided us. We appreciate a waiter who understands the expectations of fine dining and he met and anticipated each one. He joyfully helped us celebrate an anniversary and obviously takes pride in a job well done. The evening was concluded with a memorable picture at the Christmas tree in the hotel lobby. What a great evening! We hope to celebrate many special occasions at Gabrielle.
Birthday weekend
Wonderful all around!
I must pay my respects to the chef who did a phenomenal job with our food. Our food was colorful, had so many flavors and was cooked to perfection we enjoyed ourselves immensely. Duck and dumplings and I had the Eggs Bennett.
Remarkable service and ambiance.
The service was terrible. Rude servers.
It was a dinner for my girlfriend and we were seated in a dining area off from the main, I’m sure for social distancing. However, it took so long to be waited on initially but also slow service overall. We were slightly disappointed.
Always a great experience. Perfect, as expected.
Great time at this establishment !
The Bennett was a wonderful setting for a Sunday lunch. Hillary was a fantastic server@
My 21 year old daughter and I had dinner here for her birthday. Beautiful restaurant! Our server, Joe, was excellent. Mixed review on the food. The Charbroiled Oysters were barely luke warm. The flavor was good but they should have been piping hot! Drago’s in New Orleans they are not. Our entrees were very good. I had the Carolina Flounder. While I’m not convinced it was actually flounder because it was a very thick white fish steak and flounder is usually very thin, the entree was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. I would order it again, flounder or not. My daughter had the Duck Confit and it was also excellent. The duck was crispy and well cooked. She said she would order it again. For dessert (which ended up being on the house for her birthday, which was a nice surprise when the bill came) was the Profiterole Choux and it was also very good. A different spin on a cream puff but with ice cream and poured dark chocolate sauce. It was actually amazing. I love the Hotel Bennett (in general), so we will probably be back!
Our small group of three, enjoyed a wonderful afternoon lunch for a business meeting at Gabrielle. The atmosphere is is cozy and the natural light and view of Marion Square add to the ambiance of the dining room. Our server was attentive and took great care of us during our meal. All of our entrées tasted amazing and did not disappoint.
A great restaurant for a special occasion...my wife's birthday, and she loved it. Great roasted oysters and the very best caesar salad not made tableside ever. Excellent meal, but I made the mistake of substituting sides that didn't work. So stick to the menu and all will be great.
Excellent service and food was divine, stayed on property and could not have been more pleased with the amenities and staff of the restaurant and hotel!
