I had wanted to check out the hotel for some time. I was on a weekend getaway and decided last minute to get lunch and cocktails at Gabrielle. I’m so glad we went! The restaurant is beautiful and the staff is amazing. The food was delicious and I had a great cocktail! We loved this restaurant so much we went back for dinner and had the best steak I’ve ever eaten. Must try this restaurant!

Wonderful evening at Gabrielle’s in the Bennett. Hotel Bennett was beautiful with elegant Christmas. The entire staff welcomed us with a smile and exceeded our expectations with outstanding customer service from the moment we walked into the hotel and into the bar and dining room. We drank a Smoked Old Fashion which was perfect. I asked Cara for 3 cherries and got four (nice). My husband had a smooth Glen Leavitt 14. We enjoyed the violinist and beautiful ambiance in the lounge. For dinner, I requested a quiet window table and the table settings were beautiful with a lovely bouquet of flowers and pressed white linen table cloths and silverware. Our server was an expert in hospitality and was wonderful! She presented us with fresh made Salted butter and two types of breads. Following the bread course, The Chef came over to welcome us and surprised us with a fresh, lightly fried oyster and it was delicious. He told us how he can personalize any meal request like a “private Chef” experience. He is a rare find and you have to meet him. I had the Frioe Gras which was very nice, more of a pate’ and my husband had the Chef’s special salad of greens with a trio of beets in a pastry wrap which was very nice. I had the Sautéed Diver Scallops which were delicious and my husband had the Sword Fish which very good but a little too spicy for me. We were celebrating our Anniversary and were too full for dessert, and they surprised us with Chocolate Macarons and a chocolate Happy Anniversary sign on the plate. I finished my meal and enjoyed a delicious cup of Peppermint Tea and honey which both were extremely delicious and soothing after a big meal. I would highly recommend eating at Gabrielles and please dress nice as it’s a special place to enjoy and feel pampered.

Dinner was wonderful. Fewer choices than the last time we went, but we still very much enjoyed. The server could have been a little friendlier, but it did not take away from the meal. Will return.

Absolutely first class! We had our thanksgiving meal there- Meal and service was excellent! It was just enough on my plate, after dinner we went upstairs to the fiat bar, had drinks, socialized and enjoyed the game- it was a perfect evening. Thanks Gabrielle in the Hotel Bennett.

I was disappointed that on Sunday at noon the breakfast/brunch menu was not offered, there was a very limited lunch menu. I’m sure that this was clear on the website but when I booked, I had assumed that the brunch would still be available at noon on a Sunday.

Really lovely evening. We had been to several restaurants in Charleston this past weekend which were just too noisy and "happening". Gabrielle was a lovely reprieve with attentive, genteel service, quiet sophisticated atmosphere and delicious food with nice sized proportions. Wine list was approachable and fairly priced Oysters were local and delicious. We really weren't that hungry and decided to split the caesar salad (more than enough) as well as a small plate tuna dish (essential tuna tartar) and mango prawns - all was delicious and beautifully plated. Finished off with fabulous decaf cappuccino and a scoop each of pumpkin and vanilla ice cream. Perfect evening! Would definitely come back.

It's not fair to say that I didn't care for it because the ambience and service was good. My husband's steak was great but I ordered chicken and I didn't care for it. It was a late reservation (8 p.m) so maybe it was a little dry b/c it was sitting too long but the cocktails, waiter, service was great.

This was our first time. They accommodated our party (which included at baby) very well. Atmosphere is awesome. We were disappointed with the food. The chicken was dry, the special fish was overdone and not flavorful, the swordfish was also dry. The drinks and appies were great. We are giving feedback to the chef. We might try it again for a drink and appies.
