Everything was good if you could ignore the god awful music at times - crappy French rap is not the best fit for the vibe of the restaurant.
Excellent service, wonderful food, low-key ambiance
Ordered the steak. It was cooked just right with a very tasty sauce on the side. Reasonable prices for French cuisine.
Delicious French food, beautiful dining room, and reasonable prices. Glad to be back.
Nice food and service, a little noisy being outside.
The service and food were excellent. The ambiance is charming, upbeat, and supportive of table conversation. Highly recommend!
The food is always good and plentiful. Menu is limited right now but it certainly produces good choices.
We loved our first visit. Best trout I’ve had in the city. Everything was perfectly prepared and everyone was extremely nice.
We stayed in Center City and wanted a good restaurant within walking distance of our hotel. Server was excellent and took good care of us. I’m VERY about having a tender steak so I took her word and she was right. Plus it came with a tasty peppercorn brandy sauce. My husband had the chicken in a mushroom sauce, also very good. We also enjoyed the starter salad. Highly recommend.
Wonderful !! Will be coming back !!................
Food was excellent, service was terrific and the price was just right. So happy you are back open for business.
No selection of traditional bistro dishes done very well
We had been to Gabi's about a year ago and really liked it, so decided it was time to go back. It did not disappoint. Our waiter Alex was the same one we had from a year ago, excellent service, very friendly and prompt and the rest of the staff was also very on top of checking in on their tables, as well as our table. Food was fabulous, if you go for nothing else, go for the escargot simply amazing. Their green beans are so good as well. I had the Spring Tart, could only eat half, as it was so large and filling, but really tasty. My son had the steak and the sauce really added to the overall flavor nicely. Will go back again!
Just returned from Gabi Restaurant on North Broad Street, Philly, celebrating Center City Restaurant Week. Had an actual bourbon "cocktail" which I savored big-girl style as my aperitif. So French and sophisticated. We initially were brought housemade bread and butter, crusty and fresh. My appetizer was the cheese plate and my dining companion has the Gallic escargots. We shared a salad beautifully seasoned with fine olive oil. My entree were the scallops and my partner had duck confit. Both selections were delicious, perfectly rendered. Last I had the caramel ice cream (and it was served in a half-pint container a la Ben and Jerry's) and my friend enjoyed the chocolate pot de creme. The service was seamless (Vanna was our experienced and easy-going server) and the ambiance was fab, very French bistro from the 1930's with great wall graphics.
We frequent owner Peter Woolsey's other establishments, Bistrot La Minette in Queen Village and La Peg down by the Delaware River. We will definitely put Gabi on our list for many repeat visits.
This was a really cute restaurant. It looks very quaint and the serving staff was friendly. A friend and I came for restaurant week. Their menu had a few good items. I’m kind of regretting not trying the escargot but the French onion soup was delicious. Also, the cheese board was good. I had scallops and fries. It was okay but if I had a chance to try something else I would. The desserts were delicious as well especially the caramel ice cream. Everyone still followed Covid protocols but they didn’t check temperatures.
The food was terrible. Steak was over cooked, mashed potatoes were bland and dessert was not very good
I love this place. Excellent food and atmosphere.
The food was excellent and the service was even better
Truly an authentic french restaurant. Food was amazing! And micheal and chris made our experience worth it! Cocktail recommendations were needed and they did not disappoint! Will be back soon!
Alex was a great waiter and the food was all
Delish. It made me miss Paris so much. It was restaraunt week so we got bang for our buck but we will
Surely come back as this French cuisine and environment was amazing.
Very nice dining experience, great food and service.
Overall very good with large portions.
As usual, the food was delicious and the service outstanding!
Host & waiters were very attentive and quick with everything. Great customer service and I will be back
Our server Alex found out my friend and I had a long day and gave us free shots! They also opened the regular menu up for restaurant week prices. Highly recommend, this was a great experience start to finish.
Had a fantastic experience at Gabi! Went for restaurant week and it did not disappoint. The dishes our group had: foie gras, escargot, steak tartare, french onion soup for apps; entrees of bistro steak, scallops, and salmon; mashed potatoes and French fries for sides; eclair, vanilla ice cream, and sorbet (raspberry and mango) for dessert. The fries were only OK, but everything else was spectacular; my favorite was the foie, and the raspberry sorbet > mango. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, and we had a great time.
The only misstep was in sitting outside on what turned out to be an unseasonably hot evening, with dirt bikes, ATVs, and boom cars passing by numerous times. Until the city addresses the noise pollution problem, sit inside if you can.
Food was not fantastic (a few dishes were tasty, a few not so much - same for drinks) - probably wouldn’t visit again. But the wait staff and hostess were very friendly and pleasant.
The service was exceptional...however the food was not. The bread was cold and the entrees had no flavor. The escargots and raspberry sorbet were good but the duck leg confit, mashed potatoes, and green beans were bland. We went during restaurant week and the price was still not worth the food. Would not dine here again :(
The lamb was delicious but my husband's duck was a bit over cooked
Fantastic food, great service, and nice vibes! A++
Pate and salad were fine. Chicken Paillard and duck were very tasty. Desserts were creamy and delicious.
Great service! Everything was efficient and kind. The food was good and reasonable priced. They listened to how you want the food prepared and go above and beyond. Would definitely return.
It was restaurant week, but they seemed to be running their full menu. Tables well spaced. Chris, our waiter, was just super. On top of things. Sense of humor--must be hard to have given the pandemic and its impact of business, but he was just great.
We were seated at an outdoor table. The noise level was intolerable- subway underneath, trucks & cars on Broad Street, and gangs of ATVs & Motorcycles made it unpleasant for diners and staff.
Great tasting French food in a retro atmosphere
Restaurant Week - menu was wonderful! Escargot and pot de creme were outstanding. Only critique was chicken paillard wasn’t hot. (Assume grilled earlier and not reheated thoroughly.). Setup for outside was lovely . . . If only they could stop the motorcycles and truck noises on Broad Street. Would definitely come back to try more of their regular menu.
Very nice outdoor seating and a very good Restaurant Week menu.
The street noise could be overwhelming.
great service! a truly wonderful dining experience!
The food is great and the service was amazing! I love to go during restaurant week but I would go throughout the year.
We have been waiting for you to re-open and enjoyed ourselves immensely. The employees are the greatest.
