We shared Paella meal and bread. The rice dry and tasteless, squid was raw with only 3 shrimp and no clams or muscles at all. The chorizo was tidbits that were not tasty. The bread was expensive and just dry toast with a little garlic flavor. On the other hand the staff was great and house wine was very good. We wanted this to be a new spot and we may even try it again. Everyone has a bad night or makes a bad meal at times.

We had a nice table and we were greeted promptly. The chips they brought to the table were so good..We ordered cocktails which were good. We ordered several dishes to share… *The South Bay Caesar was so-so. The dressing really lacked flavor. The crunchy (cheese “croutons”?) were yummy. *The blue cheese dates were good but nothing spectacular. *The shrimp with garlic was very good, it came with some bread. * The turkey meatballs were so dry. The sauce was okay. * The Pan con tomate was very delicious. We added the manchego. Worth it. *The Brussels sprouts were also good. Nice and crispy. ****The dessert, “churro” with chocolate sauce, was absolutely horrible. Over cooked, sour tasting dough. Chocolate sauce didn’t help at all. The service was very good. Everyone was attentive and friendly.

The food was generally excellent -- especially the tortilla espanola, the pork chop, and the oxtail. The oxtail in particular was perfectly prepared and seasoned. The tuna tartare was almost flavorless, and the cheese board was a bit tired. Drinks from the bar were outstanding -- bartender knows how to nail a lemon drop. Service was friendly, but very slow -- eventually, we had to go to the hostess stand to have our server brought over. This might have been because they were down servers, like so many restaurants these days, but it was annoying. This is great Spanish food in a great location. If you don't mind uneven service, I do recommend.

Probably not what I was expecting from a Tapas/Spanish restaurant. I was disappointed with their Seafood Paella ( 3 shrimps, and a "splash" of calamary). Far from a Spanish paella.

My family is from Spain. Some of the best meals I’ve enjoyed were in my cousin’s kitchen in Santiago de Compostela. I’m super picky with my Spanish food. With that being said, Gabi James is pretty authentic. The jamon wrapped dates were on point. Loved the croquettes with chorizo. Better than any I’ve had in Spain. Pan con tomate is one of my faves and this one was pretty good with the manchego cheese on top. Spanish Tortilla is literally one of my favorite foods and no one does it better than my dad. This is the one dish Gabi James can work on. It’s just not quite right. I can’t quite figure out why it doesn’t work for me. Too creamy? Doesn’t work with shredded potatoes? Their version is great though and I’m probably just being overly picky since it’s a dish I grew up on. The garlic shrimp was my favorite. Too die for! Based on the description of the churros, I expected them to be all wrong, but oh my gosh, they were perfect. Just like the churros in Madrid at Chocolateria San Gines. We only ordered from the tapas menu and next time I want to try an entree or the Paella. So happy to have a Spanish place so close to home and can’t wait for my next amazing meal.

Delicious! Went for Spanish tapas but on Sat afternoon they were only serving brunch. Disappointed at first, but then settled to share the papas verdes and tortilla espanola. AMAZING! The papas were crisp and spiced devinely. The sauce matched beautifully and the chorizo were tiny nuggets of heat. The fried egg complimented well. The tortilla was devine, with layers upon layers of thinly sliced potatoes. Despite having two potatoe dishes they were so different, they complimented each other. I can't wait to go back. Viva Espana!

I would give Gabi James a strong 5 but one thing prevents me from doing so. The very first thing you are “greeted” with is a card on the table telling you must leave in 2 hours. AND the time is noted! Not even a welcome, just get out of here when we say so. With that said everything else is fabulous.

We are all different but I get really tired of trendy plates and everything ordered separately. My friend got shrimp, and they tasted good to her but were this tiny little tight ball vs a nice crescent shape. Very loud inside too.
