Incredible service by David. Excellent food choices. The shrimp and avocado salad was amazing. The rainbow roll was delicious.
We went for a date night. We walked in and got a strong whiff of fish when we walked in.
The waiter was confused quite a bit and referred to the cocktail of the night as “basic”.
My lamb was raw, and they replaced it quickly with a rare (but edible) lamb. I would have expected this would have been removed from the check, but it wasn’t.
Clueless waiter forgot to get us bottles of sake we ordered - so we missed out on the best thing they had going and they missed out on a sale.
All in all, very disappointing.
I don't see how this restaurant is going to survive, which is a shame because the food is very good. On the weekday evenings I joined friends for a get together there were 4 tables occupied in the fairly large dining area. Our waiter was charming and attentive and answered all our questions pleasantly. He was also very patient with some of our party who could not decide on wines, bringing them tastes. However, from ordering to our meals coming to the table was about 45 minutes. The food was beautiful and clearly freshly prepared (and not expensive for value) but the wait, without explanation, was preposterous considering what we ordered. The chef came out and apologized after the fact and comped our wine. We were treated very nicely, but it was all very strange. How can they stay in business with this sort nonsense going on? This is second time I've been there, but I won't be going back unless I'm not particularly hungry and I have three hours to spend sitting there. I have to add that the "ambiance" created by the prevailing dim overall light combined with the glaring light from the open kitchen that shines directly into the eyes of diners facing it (a third of the restaurant, maybe) is very unappealing. These nice folks deserve some advice and assistance on decor and, more importantly, how to get a meal on the table.
Nice variety on menu with everything that we tried (all cooked options) being most excellent! We will be back soon!
Nice menu. Located in the space that was occupied by One for several years in Meadowmont Village. I had chef's choice which was a piece of snapper nicely prepared with mushrooms, scallops wrapped in pancetta and a delectable cream sauce. My friend had salmon that was also nicely prepared. Excellent selection of sake.
Four of us made a meal of appetizers this time. Very creative and delicious. Love presentation.
The menu has changed due to new chef. Very good food. Was looking forward to the pork belly buns but they took that out the menu. Please put it back.
Exceptional server/service; nice variety of food options with an Asian twist;
We had the special of striped bass which was delicious. I hope the chef returns the peppered tuna to the menu. It’s my favorite!
We love sushi and sashimi. They have an excellent selection of both, delicious and at reasonable prices. The sake menu was extensive. Unfortunately, our server was not in view most of the time. We noted that, if you went with non-fish eaters, there was an ample selection of other entrees.
Our ladies Night Out group had a wonderful time. The food was great and the presentation was wonderful. We will be back.
Great food, the maki rolls were excellent. Different from any other sushi place I have been to.
It is a pleasant place. Quiet enough to have conversation. The service was very good. I am afraid I am done with superlatives. The most important thing in a restaurant: food was mediocre. Gyoza appetizer was almost with flavor ( in my view the worse gyoza I have tasted in 30 years). The special roll which I used for the main course was uninteresting. Maybe would have been better off with traditional simple rolls. They need to improve a lot before I will revisit the place
A second visit to this newer restaurant and it was again outstanding. Would encourage everyone to give it a try. I had the "Chef's Challenge" for lunch and it was fantastic.
The staff and chef were so gracious and they made our lunch with a group of friends very special. Everyone enjoyed the food, which was superb!
Overall and excellent meal. There was a small error in the appetizer (despite still tasting amazing) and the staff quickly addressed the issue by removing from the bill. Desserts particularly unique and delicious.
We had been twice before and this was our least favorite visit. It was very smoky this time as compared to our prior visits. It was disappointing that the ramen was no longer on the menu after I had finally made up my mind to order it. I realize this is a fine dining restaurant so speed is not essential, but it did take longer for the food to come out this time. I want this place to do well so I hope this is not criticism, but can be constructive. The server was very friendly.
I have been there several times for both lunch and dinner. Love the variety, service and atmosphere. I recommend it.
The restaurant was NOT serving three items I wanted -- pork belly Raman, Japanese steak & seaweed salad. All are on the regular (not special) menu. The wait staff gave the reason that they have a new chef. Thus is inexcusable. CHANGE THE MENU if you have a new chef. I will not be returning until the restaurant gets its chef instability solved.
Part of the problem ios that there are issues if you do not like spicy or heavily seasoned choices. In addition if raw fish is not your thing once again choices end up being limited. There needs to be a more broad base to menu options.
We've dined at Fusion Fish twice in last month. Food and service were excellent each time. We had the peppered tuna, one rare, one medium rare. Both were cooked perfectly. Great, friendly service from our waiter Ben. He made the occasion even more fun and enjoyable.
Excellent food. Server was new and did not know to wait until first course was finished before serving the entrees. Great place for wonderfully creative cuisine.
We had a very friendly and professional server and the food was delicious.
I rated fusion fish the way that I did because I came for my birthday to get the chicken and waffles to find out that it is no longer on the menu. I also decided to order the shrimp and grits and asked to not put onion or peppers and my food still came with fried onions on the top. I sent it back and didn’t order anything else. My husband did get the French roast and chicken wing appetizer and he said that was good. But I was disappointed that the chicken and waffles is no longer on the menu and that was one of the best dishes that you all served.
This place has everything a great blend of atmosphere and food. We started by sitting at the bar and had cocktails and beers - very relaxed and enjoyable. Then we moved to our table where the waiter was friendly and attentive. The menu has good variety and a good wine list too. They also were happy to do a customization to an item on the menu. The food was delicious, although as someone who likes REALLY spicy food I was disappointed they didn't have some additional spices for me to add to the curry - although it was excellent as it came... We will definitely go back.
Everyone had made their menu selections but it was a long wait before the wait staff came to take that order. Since there were not many other diners a long wait should not have been part of the dining experience. All the luncheons arrived at the same time which was appreciated.
Fusion Fish just changed their menu, the website is way out of date so don't get all set for something from the web menu. The waiter was great, took my order but the chef delivered the wrong very spicy dish. Very apologetic mgr. but I'd give this restaurant awhile to work out the kinks.
Excellent dinner. Excellent service. Highly recommend. We started with a couple sushi rolls which were delicious. The 007 roll was my favorite. I got the seafood pot for main course and would definitely get it again. We ate in the main dining room, however there is a very nice bar area. The AC was a bit chilly in the main dining room so bring a sweater or jacket.
From the moment we walked in to the time we left we were welcomed and felt the love in the food and in the people who waited on us. We ordered 3 appetizers to start with the pork belly buns, tuna tartare, & chicken wings. All of them tasted fantastic. We ordered an assortment of different sushi rolls and the ribs with pineapple fried rice. Simply amazing!!! The s’mores dessert was the highlight of the night!! Yung Nay is so wonderful and we will definitely be back again for round 2.
Hoping there will be craft beers on draft in future but good bottled selection currently. Staff were all welcoming and professional-especially our waiter David.
Salmon is usually a bit overcooked and would be good for the waiters to ask for the temperature that the customer wants.
Very pleasant venu, modern creative cuisine , good service. excellent desert. and accommodating staff.
Sushi was fresh and delicious! The carrot cake was a lovely presentation...it was the perfect size...enough for 2 of us to share. Cool, contemporary interior design. Bar area is spacious. Servers were knowledgeable and super friendly. Will definitely go back.
I ordered an Omagase chef’s choice of sashimi & nigiri combo and the portions was too little, the sashimi was so
So lame means only have 4 pieces of fish. The nigiri’s fish was the same kinds of fish as sushi. It was a lousy choice of omagase. It supposed to be nice when you called it as Chief’s choice. My son ordered a pork belly ramen, the noodles was all sticky together and ...... the soup is as too salty.
Wonderful restaurant and I always dine there when I’m in town
our dinner was great and our bartenders/severs (we ate at the bar) were professional
We were celebrating my friend's birthday and she recommended Fusion Fish. I believe she was satisfied with her order which included ribs. I had the salmon BLT which was only so-so. Before I took a bite, the lettuce slid out one side and the bacon came out another side. The accompanying fries were huge. Once the sandwich was eaten, the fries took over the plate. All in all, I wasn't impressed.
Best sushi ever. Great attention and wine. Menu has the most amazing diverse options for sushi and the place is really bright and clean. Recommend Hama chili. Can’t remember the sushi’s name: the first one on the rolls with salmon.
Food was excellent, staff were very nice, we did have to wait a bit longer than expected at times during the meal for wait staff but we will definitely go back again
A very friendly environment —from the front desk to the owner. You are made to feel valued and welcomed.
We have only had the entrees, not the sushi etc. (no carbs for us) but they looked fabulous. They accomodated us by substituting starches (carbs) with just more veggies. The entrees were very good—the steak, duck, ribs were all delish & the tuna was ex.—top quality, perfectly prepared. I thought the salmon was overcooked since I requested med. & it was fully cooked—-but deliously crispy at the ends.
We look forward to our next lunch or dinner!
