   I have eaten at top restaurants all over the world, including Arzak, Martin Berasategui and Noma to name a few, so understand that quality food / drink comes at a cost. The food at Funky Geisha is ok (sashimi) to very good (short rib tacos). The free amuse-bouch (deep ride parcel of something with sweet and sour dip) was pleasant. Beer was £4 or $5 and cocktails were £15 or $20 (give or take) so quite reasonable for somewhere with live entertainment, on the seafront, with a an expensive decor. Our waiter said his specialties were either margaritas or G&T, so when in Rome, we went for margaritas. He asked if we want a single or double, I thought this was a little strange but what could they possibly charge us for a margarita, in Mexico, when their European inspired drinks were reasonably priced. He had a strong accent and it was noisy so I picked up that the tequila was not premium, again, strange. Anyhow, we had been ill and the portions are large, so we had a beer each and finished with coffee and tea. The bill came to $315 or £240. With $130 or £100 for the two margaritas. I thought this was an error but it wasn’t. There was a $40 compulsory tip added and the waiter said he would only get 100 pesos from this so could I tip him on top. The whole experience was ruined as this is clearly a con.

   Great food and great service, 2/5 $. The reason I’m not rating it higher than 3 stars is because it was incredibly loud. We all had to yell across the table to talk to each other. They also did some show mid dinner which was interesting but the music somehow got louder during it and never went back down. Not a pleasant atmosphere for a dinner.

   Great ambiance to celebrate my birthday with my family!!! The DJ was excellent mixing all sorts of songs!!The wait stuff were very friendly and fun!! The appetizers and drinks were great!! The main course dishes were just okay. Overall such a fun place to for a celebration!!

   Wow! Booked this for my friend's bachelorette dinner on our first night in Cancun and it was such a magical and perfect experience! The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and made our night so special - from taking countless photos of us since the restaurant is incredibly beautiful, to offering incredible entertainment, we raved about Funky Geisha for the rest of our trip! 1000% recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful, unique, and truly one of a kind restaurant!

   Noodle bowls were way too sweet. VERY expensive for just a noodle bowl Tables were very wide and low, like eating off a coffee table. Very awkward. My dinner guests couldn’t talk to each other because the tables are so wide they push people apart and the super loud music made it very hard to get to know each other and interact.

    Absolutely gorgeous at sunset and the food was down right phenomenal. Had a great time and will return!
