About Fume Bistro & Bar
Fume Bistro is a locals neighborhood restaurant, nestled north of downtown Napa, off of HWY 29. We are an American bistro with French, Italian and Mediterranean influences. We like to call our food simple, honest and seasonally correct. To accompany the food, we offer an eclectic wine list which is primarily, but not limited to California wines. Comfortable, friendly service. Attention to detail. Terrific food in a great atmosphere. Come on in, let's eat!
Please note that our patio is open all year and super 'dog friendly' during lunch and brunch hours - during dinner in the colder months we enclose the patio and it's considered part of the dining room. Please let us know if you have your furry family with you and we will do our best to accommodate. Thank you for your understanding.

Fume Bistro & Bar Ratings and Reviews
Good, not great food. My wife, daughter and I went to Fume Bistro for the first time this past weekend for a casual lunch. The service was outstanding and it is a nice, quaint restaurant. The Food, though while good, was nothing too exciting. Given all the great locations in the wine country, I would not return.
Booked Fume for Valentines dinner. Had 6:30 reservations, Lots of people at the bar and the door, thought there may be a wait. No wait at all, we were immediately taken to a nice table. Service was good, even for a really busy night. Food was excellent. The place is a little loud but that is to be expected for a really busy night. My husband hates to go out on Valentines because of the crowds but this evening was excellent. The parking will always be an issue, so expect to hoof it once in a while.
This is our go to place for great food and service. We bring our two dogs, they love the Chicken Breast on the Doggie Menu. But because of our dogs we sit outside and if there is a large party or they are busy the noise level is almost unbearable. We just moved to Napa two years ago and when friends or family visit and we want to take them out for a wonderful meal, we head to Fume Bistro. We have had Brunch here twice recently and it was excellent.
I took my husband for a birthday dinner at Fume Bistro and had a great meal and a great time! The food was wonderful ( try the Cauliflower Fritters) and the service and staff was spot on. We loved the great energy of the restaurant and decided that it was going to be our new "go to restaurant". We will be back soon! Oh, the Happy Hour looked awesome!
Nothing special going on here... the lunch menu was significantly smaller than what the lunch menu posted on Open Table showed. Not sure whose issue that is ...Open Table or the restaurant. Someone needs to fix that. Anyway, we were disappointed with the limited choices after previewing the larger online menu.
That said the pizza was very good and the grilled chicken BLT not so much - average at best. The folks working here were very cordial and seemed efficient. Not much more to say about this place. Don’t know that I’d return.
I hadn’t been to Fume in years, so we thought we would have dinner there for a change. Quite a few folks there for a Monday evening in January. The bar seems to have regulars which is always a good sign. We were seated right away then stop there. Our waiter was friendly, however, it took too long to be greeted and for cocktails. The food was good; grilled artichoke, shrimp cocktail and BF had the NY Strip. Food was tasty; the shrimp cocktail presentation could be improved. We were satisfied with our meal and would go back again. Hopefully, the service will be a bit
We've passed by this restaurant too many times to count . . . over the many years while driving up Hwy 29 to restaurants located in Yountville, St. Helena, etc.
The restaurant is located in a mixed use setting . . . residential/commercial, with a small parking lot, or street parking.
We've always said we should try it some time, as it frequently looks busy as we pass by . . . but we never wanted to substitute it (or take a chance) for Bistro Don Giovanni, Bistro Jeanty, Mustards, Press, Charter Oak, etc.
Long story short is although the food is decent/good (not memorable) the ambiance, price, food & service don't match (or even come close) to what other restaurants (at the same price point) up valley have to offer.
Bistro Don Giovanni as a great example (a mile or so up the road) has all the boxes checked . . . from the beautiful stand alone building . . . located next to a vineyard, to the stellar food, interior/exterior ambiance, service, huge dedicated parking lot = a total experience.
In saying the above . . . Fume Bistro is not a bad place to eat . . . we just wouldn't return, knowing what's just up the road / Hwy 29.
Always consistent and reliable. Good food in a friendly environment. Had short ribs eggs Benedict which sounds funny but tasted great(I’ve had there ribs numerous times and they never disappoint. Only flaw were the onion rings, all batter and no onion. Otherwise I highly recommend.
This summer, my cousin treated us to a wonderful lunch. We were able to sit outside and enjoy a delicious meal. Our experience motivated us to try it again, but this time for dinner. Before leaving out hotel for the restaurant, the concierge told us the Fume Bistro was a popular location for the locals.
While there were entrees to chooses from, my husband and I often like to share small plates. We had a a spicy Manhattan chowder (rarely is Manhattan chowder found on menus and I love it!), a wedge salad, ahi tuna appetizer and the most spectacular onion rings, which our food server recommended as best in the area. The insides were tender and the outsides were crunchy. It was served with a spicy cocktail sauce; however, we asked for ranch dressing, which we thought was a better match and our food server brought it out immediately. There is no doubt that we will be back for a casual meal at a restaurant that provides good service and delicious good.
We love this place! Everything is unbelievable. I had the crab omlet special that was over the top amazing. Tons of crab that paired perfectly with their hollandaise. Crisp potatoes on the side and a spicy, but not outrageously so, bloody Mary. It's always pretty busy and it's a small restaurant so expect it to be loud, but everyone is super helpful and it's a really casual atmosphere. Can't say enough good things.
We are in town on vacation over Christmas so this was an option for Christmas Eve. We wanted a variety of fish and veggie options. The service was great! We were sat immediately. The ambiance was very authentic. We needed up talking with two people from the Napa area. Very nice people. Great experience!
Waitress brings us the bill and tells us "no rush take your time" as we still have half a bottle of wine to finish after dinner... About 30 min later the hostess comes over and asks us how much longer untill we leave as they need the table for a party of 3. Seems a bit rude considering we just spent ~$250 on dinner. Dont plan on coming back here, dissapointed bcause it was my favorite restaurant in napa.
We chose the restaurant because it is dog-friendly. Upon our arrival, we were quickly seated in the outdoor patio and throughout the entire dinner, our dog was treated nicely with a water bowl and lots of warm greeting. However, out of the three dishes we ordered, we didn’t find any that’s on par of the Napa dining standard.
The 3 dishes we ordered are fried calamari, baby pork ribs, and braised short ribs risotto. The calamari wasn’t flavorful and the breading was not crunchy. The baby pork ribs were lacking flavors also. The only thing I liked was the risotto underneath the short ribs.
The atmosphere was nice and the staff was friendly and attentive. We might have ordered the wrong dishes and We really wanted to like the restaurant but our conclusion was to not go back again. :(
