About Fume Bistro & Bar
Fume Bistro is a locals neighborhood restaurant, nestled north of downtown Napa, off of HWY 29. We are an American bistro with French, Italian and Mediterranean influences. We like to call our food simple, honest and seasonally correct. To accompany the food, we offer an eclectic wine list which is primarily, but not limited to California wines. Comfortable, friendly service. Attention to detail. Terrific food in a great atmosphere. Come on in, let's eat!
Please note that our patio is open all year and super 'dog friendly' during lunch and brunch hours - during dinner in the colder months we enclose the patio and it's considered part of the dining room. Please let us know if you have your furry family with you and we will do our best to accommodate. Thank you for your understanding.

Fume Bistro & Bar Ratings and Reviews
Decided to eat here during our visit to Napa for a few days. Could not have made a better choice. Just amazing on every way. I had without a doubt the best salmon I have ever tasted. My.wife had a shrimp dish that was equally delicious. Highly recommend Fume
A spot for locals and guests to the valley alike, great to see a crowd at the bar and in the restaurant area. Napa Valley is a resilient community, and the vibe that evening was positive. Diverse dinner menu (the pizzas are delicious), and weekend brunch is very good. Quality ingredients used to cook every meal.
We were a 6 pm Saturday night party of 7, which included a 2 year old and a 3 mo old. The service was great, the food was excellent, the only reasons for not a full 5 star review was the noise level was too loud to converse across the table. Be prepared for the bill, worth every penny.
$11 Wedge salad drowning in dressing -- more like soup. Everything seemed to have bacon on it -- not in a good way. Mac and cheese was grainy. Order Oysters Rockefeller only if you don't like oysters. Martini watery and not cold. No beer on tap. Ordered drinks that never came.
Dinner was wonderful! We had the onion rings with drinks prior to ordering dinner and they were just the start of amazing. I had their version of Caprese with blue cheese on the heirloom tomatoes and WOW! It was mind Blowing! My husband and son had the soup and equally loved it. For our entrees we had porkchops and scampi pasta. It was all very good and the dessert also didn't disappoint. The flourless chocolate cake was great. Do not hesitate to make your reservation if you are going to be in the Napa area!
The outstanding part of our visit to Fume was the service. Our waitress was slammed with at least 4 tables sat simultaneously, yet she gave us immediate attention and always made us feel welcomed, and well served. The wine was very tasty and the waitress made great recommendations. Parts of the meal were phenomenal yet some of food could certainly be much improved, given the prices 1) The wasabe tuna appetizer was greasy and the saucing and side treatment was super sweet. It just did not show off the tuna well in any way. 2) The risotto with cabernet braised short rib was delicious, however, the portion of risotto was so minimal, we ordered a side of risotto. With the extra side risotto it was the perfect dish and we recommended via their survey that the risotto qty be increased as standard. The peach salad was delish as was the dessert of 3 creme brulees. We had a fun time. Have to be okay with high noise since the place hops
Not quite the experience from the past. Service was not what we always have had in the past. Not sure if there has been a change in ownership or not, but was a disappointed. Had to wait awhile to place our order, had to ask what the specials were (waitress said she would be back to tell us and when she finally came back she said what would you like? We said, you haven't told us the specials, to which she replied " Well there's only", asked for a bottle of wine and was given one glass, had to ask for the second bottle to be delivered to our group when we were served our entrees and the first bottle was gone (there was 5 of us) and wanted to enjoy it with our meal. Wasn't horrible, just not the usual service we are used to.
No return to offer coffee refill. No sugar offer for coffee. Left for quiet conversation- unhurried. We watched 3 tables sit for excessive time without orders taken. Perhaps understaffed today? I've been prior with excellent food and service, but too high noise level
Service and amenities were good. Nice varied menu. Caesar Salad was fair. One out of three dinners was good (pork chop) and enjoyed, the other two were marginal (Spicy Shrimp fettuccini and Grilled Tuna). We expected better for the price and reputation of the restaurant. The restaurant promotes a no corkage policy but we were charged $15.00. Probably will not be back.
Love the food here. I recommend sitting inside though, as right now the flies are everywhere, and the noise from the road is really loud. We have been other places near the road in Napa, but they had fountains and other white noise that kept the road noise down. The flies are probably seasonal, not sure what they could do about that.
Favorite food there is the salmon, and the risotto! Yum! Will be back.
I enjoy Fume, but the sandwiches this time were nothing to write home about. Too much bread, for one thing. I took half the chicken/avocado/bacon sandwich home, without the bread and I probably won't eat it. Not much bacon there. My friend only ate half of her turkey sandwich. So next time I'll get a salad or an entree and the artichoke that is very tasty.
We hadn't been to Fumé for several years but had memories of it as a very good neighborhood restaurant. It's attractive enough and is a pretty quiet restaurant by today's standards, making it a great place to have a conversation. Also, you will not be rushed through your meal. But alas, our recent experience with food and service was not quite as good as I recall from the past. The salad was soggy with dressing, and the cappuccino was served luke warm. And notably, our waiter served a bottled beer by pouring the contents into the glass while submerging the top of the bottle into the liquid as he poured, something he said he was taught to create the proper head on the beer. I get the concept, but yuck! Maybe this is o.k. in a busy bar but not in a restaurant (and maybe it wouldn't bother someone else at all.) Perhaps we were there on an off day and I wouldn't discount Fumé altogether, but I wouldn't race back there either. Hoping next time food and service will be better. It's a good resource if you don't want to go into downtown Napa.
Second time here so this review is based on our experience Saturday night. First thing we noticed was the bar area was much cooler than sitting at our table. The ceiling fans just were not enough. Service was ok, our waiter was a bit of a dud as he didn't offer any suggestions or show genuine interest in what we had to say. Food was good except for the over cooked salmon.
Not what we expected - Fume came highly recommended - the food was simply average. The pizza lost all flavor as it cooled. The pork special was fairly bland. Service was sporadic - I would have gladly ordered a second glass of wine if the server had come back to checked on us.
Parking was a challenge at 5:30 pm, but facility is easily accessible. We were seated promptly and drinks arrived quickly. Server was very good, specials nearly solved our order. But we had to have our party appetizer: artichoke. This was one of the few servers who has followed our 'we want to take our time' request.
