About Fume Bistro & Bar
Fume Bistro is a locals neighborhood restaurant, nestled north of downtown Napa, off of HWY 29. We are an American bistro with French, Italian and Mediterranean influences. We like to call our food simple, honest and seasonally correct. To accompany the food, we offer an eclectic wine list which is primarily, but not limited to California wines. Comfortable, friendly service. Attention to detail. Terrific food in a great atmosphere. Come on in, let's eat!
Please note that our patio is open all year and super 'dog friendly' during lunch and brunch hours - during dinner in the colder months we enclose the patio and it's considered part of the dining room. Please let us know if you have your furry family with you and we will do our best to accommodate. Thank you for your understanding.

Fume Bistro & Bar Ratings and Reviews
Always consistent and reliable. Good food in a friendly environment. Had short ribs eggs Benedict which sounds funny but tasted great(I’ve had there ribs numerous times and they never disappoint. Only flaw were the onion rings, all batter and no onion. Otherwise I highly recommend.
This summer, my cousin treated us to a wonderful lunch. We were able to sit outside and enjoy a delicious meal. Our experience motivated us to try it again, but this time for dinner. Before leaving out hotel for the restaurant, the concierge told us the Fume Bistro was a popular location for the locals.
While there were entrees to chooses from, my husband and I often like to share small plates. We had a a spicy Manhattan chowder (rarely is Manhattan chowder found on menus and I love it!), a wedge salad, ahi tuna appetizer and the most spectacular onion rings, which our food server recommended as best in the area. The insides were tender and the outsides were crunchy. It was served with a spicy cocktail sauce; however, we asked for ranch dressing, which we thought was a better match and our food server brought it out immediately. There is no doubt that we will be back for a casual meal at a restaurant that provides good service and delicious good.
We love this place! Everything is unbelievable. I had the crab omlet special that was over the top amazing. Tons of crab that paired perfectly with their hollandaise. Crisp potatoes on the side and a spicy, but not outrageously so, bloody Mary. It's always pretty busy and it's a small restaurant so expect it to be loud, but everyone is super helpful and it's a really casual atmosphere. Can't say enough good things.
We are in town on vacation over Christmas so this was an option for Christmas Eve. We wanted a variety of fish and veggie options. The service was great! We were sat immediately. The ambiance was very authentic. We needed up talking with two people from the Napa area. Very nice people. Great experience!
Waitress brings us the bill and tells us "no rush take your time" as we still have half a bottle of wine to finish after dinner... About 30 min later the hostess comes over and asks us how much longer untill we leave as they need the table for a party of 3. Seems a bit rude considering we just spent ~$250 on dinner. Dont plan on coming back here, dissapointed bcause it was my favorite restaurant in napa.
We chose the restaurant because it is dog-friendly. Upon our arrival, we were quickly seated in the outdoor patio and throughout the entire dinner, our dog was treated nicely with a water bowl and lots of warm greeting. However, out of the three dishes we ordered, we didn’t find any that’s on par of the Napa dining standard.
The 3 dishes we ordered are fried calamari, baby pork ribs, and braised short ribs risotto. The calamari wasn’t flavorful and the breading was not crunchy. The baby pork ribs were lacking flavors also. The only thing I liked was the risotto underneath the short ribs.
The atmosphere was nice and the staff was friendly and attentive. We might have ordered the wrong dishes and We really wanted to like the restaurant but our conclusion was to not go back again. :(
Wait staff very friendly -we got our table quickly. It’s very apparent this is a locals restaurant . Many people seemed to know each other and the atmosphere was relaxed though loud-since the bar is directly above the dining area. No frills atmosphere but no complaints about the friendly service. Wood fired pizza average -onion rings excellent as advertised. Mahi-mahi overcooked. Decent wine list and good cocktails. Stick to the straight ahead menu items and you’ll be fine. We were out of there in an hour and that about sums up the dining experience.
I’m a local in Napa and this was actually my first time eating at Fume with my wife.
Here are my comments.
Seemed short staff and training a new waitress. Not a huge deal, but definitely slowed down the service considerably and felt a little rushed. Noise level was ok, but the music selection was really strange, rock/alternative that didn’t fit the ambiance of the restaurant at all. Expected some classic Christmas music or something. And someone kept adjusting the volume level up and down. Last comment, we were never offered any specials for dinner. And didn’t realize they had specials until our waitress offered the patrons next to us specials when ordering, that was a huge miss. I absolutely would have ordered the rib eye, and my wife would have ordered the petrale sole.
It was just a weird experience. Food was very good though.
Decided to eat here during our visit to Napa for a few days. Could not have made a better choice. Just amazing on every way. I had without a doubt the best salmon I have ever tasted. My.wife had a shrimp dish that was equally delicious. Highly recommend Fume
A spot for locals and guests to the valley alike, great to see a crowd at the bar and in the restaurant area. Napa Valley is a resilient community, and the vibe that evening was positive. Diverse dinner menu (the pizzas are delicious), and weekend brunch is very good. Quality ingredients used to cook every meal.
We were a 6 pm Saturday night party of 7, which included a 2 year old and a 3 mo old. The service was great, the food was excellent, the only reasons for not a full 5 star review was the noise level was too loud to converse across the table. Be prepared for the bill, worth every penny.
$11 Wedge salad drowning in dressing -- more like soup. Everything seemed to have bacon on it -- not in a good way. Mac and cheese was grainy. Order Oysters Rockefeller only if you don't like oysters. Martini watery and not cold. No beer on tap. Ordered drinks that never came.
