Incredible place, the interior design is great, and most importantly the food and the drinks are excellent. %100 recommended.
Great food but having the candelabras in the middle of the table was a little frustrating. Wax kept falling and almost fell in the food. But over all loved the food and the staff!
Had the Adult Happy Meal happy hour deal - GREAT value! I was expecting a slider but it was actually a full-sized burger with fries. I also had the Verdita Sour cocktail. Everything was delicious!! I’ll definitely come back.
The food was not great which I hardly ever find in Chicago, to be honest. They were out of almost everything on the happy hour menu, which is fine.. but when we asked for the burger at 6:05pm (after happy hour) you would think that they would have still let us order it, given all of the food they were out of but she said “happy hour ended 5 minutes ago.”
Was excited to emerge from the caves for the first time in a year to gather with friends for a good meal, seated outside on a perfect Chicago evening. But while the food was tasty, the experience was marred by the fact that we couldn't hear each other. Despite asking various staff at least 5 times over the course of the dinner to lower the volume, somehow that could not be fixed. So our table of 3 yelled to each other, trying to catch up on the covid year and be heard over the ridiculous music piped above our heads. So dine here and enjoy the cauliflower, mussels, beet salad, and cheesy Prince remixes.
Awesome service, food creative but taste was just average and somewhat overpriced.
Such a great meal and service!
we were at FMK for a birthday dinner. 5 adults. we sat outside which was lovely--quiet street, music from inside thru outside speakers.
the hostess was delightful and made us feel very welcome.
the server was nice, but either overwhelmed or just not comfortable with being a server.
she was timid, hesitant--she took our drink order but returned in a few moments noting that one of the drinks was unavailable. no problem. we ordered appetizers which came out in decent time. portions very small (in fairness, called 'small plates'). food was good.
4 entrees came out after a bit too long a time. the fifth was far behind. we had already been eating for awhile when it arrived. she apologized. i asked for salt/pepper as soon as my entree arrived and it was delivered by her when i was finished eating. plates were not cleared until i was opening gifts and had to push them away. again, apologies. the food was fine--very expensive for the portion size. value just not there. i'd been to FMK a couple of years ago and it was delightful. last nite, not so much. sadly, there are hundreds of restaurants in chicago wanting our business. difficult to give another chance.
We ordered smash burger, egg in the eye. Flavor was very good. We are inside. Very cool interior. I would recommend for dinner, brunch or drinks
Hands down, the worst service we have ever experienced. We read the reviews and didn’t believe this place could be this bad, but wow.
Walk-in to the restaurant, long hallway leading up the host stand. Line of about 5-6 people ahead of us. No big deal. After about 7 minutes, the same line, no hostess in sight. Later to learn, she walked by the line about 3-4 times and never acknowledged anyone. We got sat outside as requested and then waited 10 minutes to even be acknowledged. It gets better.... while we are sitting outside, we are seeing people waiting to be acknowledged by the hostess and they are getting frustrated, so we said.... “don’t worry, it happens to everyone apparently”.
Suggestion..... order 2-3 drinks at a time and place your order soon as you are seated. 1 drink to sip on and the other 2-3 as backup because you will definitely not get a server to return. Also, don’t bother trying to split the checks, they can’t do that 😂.
Great food and wine selection, quick and attentive service.
Great place. HUD! The best!
The staff was very friendly. The food was outstanding. Really like the eclectic interior.
This was a very odd dining experience. Our server was very nice but seemed new. But tried hard. The food came out in a trickle and when we finally asked, were told it was “small plates.” A helpful detail that would have been nice at the beginning of the meal (and the dishes really don’t seem meant to be shared...). We also watched the table behind us get all of their food at once, so that was kind of funny. The hostess was pretty rude to a few people in our party just trying to use the bathroom (we were on the patio). Food was pretty good— but it was just odd.
My boyfriend and I came here for a very long overdue date night. We were really looking forward to trying this place since we heard great things about it, but we didn’t have the best experience.
Firstly, they seated us in the most awkward spot, the table looked like it was placed there haphazardly. I get with covid tables need to be 6ft apart and whatnot but this could’ve been done better. Our table was in the aisle, halfway between both dining rooms and close to the entry wall. It was a tiny round table.
When it came to ordering, I specifically picked this place for the oysters only to find out that the menu and pictures are outdated and they only had hot oysters (um ew no thanks). So instead we went with the mussels, duck toast & octopus with some cocktails. I expected the waiter to have the plates come out slowly but of course everything came out at once and left us very little to no room to eat comfortably. I pointed it out to the food runner but he assured me it would “work perfectly” ... no it did not. But at that point I just wanted to eat and leave so didn’t bring it up to the waiter.
This was not a comfortable dining experience. The food was fine, mussels were huge but very messy to open and eat as they might’ve been over cooked. Octopus was a bit too chewy and the duck toast was ok.
Honestly I usually like to go back to restaurants and give them another chance but I most likely won’t for this one.
Ambiance and cocktails were amazing! The menu is slightly limited. I would come back for a fun cocktail.
Amazing burgers and octopus!
The art is amazing as well
Everything was great, except for the fact that we waited almost 45min to get a waiter!! However, when finally we got a waiter we were told that our waiter was unaware that he was suppose to serve us, and after that everything was fine. I just did not like the fact that people who got seated after us were able to get served and food came out before us who was waiting 45min just to finally get our order. Food was good, and the atmosphere is beautiful, full of art.
Loved the ambiance and the food. Will be back for sure.
It was a terrible experience!
Went there for mothers day brunch The service was slow! We asked for ice tea, they didn’t have it, cappuccino? Nope, side of bacon with the omelet we ordered, nope!
Orderd steak and eggs came with no eggs and frozen potato that haven't been Thawed
Terrible ! Had to wait another 20 min
The manager never to apologize and mean while we had to pay for steak and eggs after all
Will not recommend it ;(
Not a good value
Cool atmosphere with outstanding food.
The service was awful, our waitress took forever. I am understanding of the current staff limitations due to COVID, but she walked past our table several times and ignored us. The food was unseasoned and overpriced for what it was. I was here a few years ago, and the experience then was great. This time around it was subpar.
Food was delicious and was portioned appropriately. Clean you plate before you leave. Also, the Gold Blossom cocktail was fire.
The food was great, but a little pricey for what you get. My husband and I enjoyed the experience of being at the restaurant with cool decor. Service was pretty good, although food took a long time to arrive. Wine and drinks were really good; we would come back again in the future.
Very limited menu options, especially for sharing. Service was wonderful, so was atmosphere. Drinks were good. Food was good, but not great - "Small Plates" - Hummus and Avocado crunch were great! "Large Plate" items were average - Octopus, Burger, Cauliflower, Cacio e Pepe - meh. Except the crab legs, which were excellent. Servings were small.
This restaurant serves delicious, accessible cuisine while offering a warm, artistic atmosphere and contemporary house music. So fun!
The service was fantastic. Our reservation was at 9:30 which was when apparently the kitchen closes. We were unaware but the manager was able to squeeze us in when we requested the crab legs and octopus before we even sat down. The food was out in no time and let me just say food was amazing! The crab melted in your mouth and so full of flavor as well as the octopus at first was a little intimidating but was beyond delicious as well. We were in and out in 30 minutes because of how quick the service and we will definitely be back again. Thanks Fulton market kitchen!!
We enjoyed ourselves very much. The service was great. The art was fun and funky. We had the cauliflower. The flavor was delicious, I just wish it had been cooked longer. It was a little crunchy. The two of us basically ate a head of cauliflower between us. The pepper and cheese pasta was outstanding. The steak was fine, but nothing special. For the price I expected better flavor. We had a fancy cocktail and a glass of red wine. Neither was memorable. I expected better wine by the glass choices. The peach blossom cocktail was ok. All the cocktails are herbal and savory vs. Sweet. It was on the border of being bitter.
I would be happy to go again for that pasta and cauliflower. The service was lovely.
Service was fantastic!!
The restaurant was amazing. Food was good,
Ambiance is one of a kind, service was on point and the menu - though still limited because of covid - had enough tasty options to meet all of our needs. I would recommend checking this place out!
The atmosphere was so fun and eclectic! The squid Ink pasta and the crab legs were heavenly. We will definitely be back. Met the owner upon leaving and he was the kindest human and gave us some insight Into his fantastic restaurant.
Went for a dinner with a group of 5. Great food/service! Everything we ate was amazing!
Great Drinks , wonderful visual space with with high energy soundtrack that adds to the experiance and it is a experiance. Small plates & apps good yet a full dinner not available at this time. Friendly, knowledgeable & courteous wait staff yet needed to slow them down a few times for us (date night) to enjoy the evening. Think they wanted to flip the table fast. A little pricy but would recommend highly for a date night to impress and have
a great time. Tables well spaced out. You'll have a great time.
The dishes are just as much art as they are delicious. I'm so excited to have you back!
Fulton Market Kitchen seems to have closed. They did not respond to calls in the days preceding my reservation. When I showed up for my reservation, lights were off and doors were locked. Google and OpenTable both showed it as open.
My reservation was confirmed, my party and I got there and it was closed. They should modify their online presence if they are closed, we had a really hard time finding another restaurant on a Friday night
