UNACCEPTABLE TREATMENT -
My friend and I—two young Asian women—stopped by the Tin Building to pick up a cake and spontaneously decided to sit at the bar for a few oysters. We had no reservation, but the space was open, and we were seated without issue.
After placing a modest order and waiting patiently for 10–15 minutes, three white, middle-aged men arrived and sat beside us. They ordered a substantial number of oysters and, within moments, were being doted upon by the main staff at the bar. The main staff, an African American male server, was strikingly attentive to the men: he enthusiastically introduced the oysters, made casual conversation, and even offered complimentary clams. The contrast in service was staggering.
Our oysters, which were already prepared and sitting visibly on the counter, were deliberately withheld by that server. We were not acknowledged, not spoken to, not even looked at. For another 10 minutes, we watched as our order remained untouched—ignored—while the men next to us were lavished with service and attention. When we were finally served, there was no greeting, no explanation, no introduction. Just a plate silently slid in front of us.
It was humiliating, and more than that—it was discriminatory. This was not a matter of oversight or busyness. This was a deliberate act of discrimination—- seemingly in all factors of race, gender, and age. It was painfully clear that the server assumed we wouldn’t speak up. That, as two young Asian women, we were not worth his time, let alone basic respect.
To be overlooked, ignored, and dismissed so blatantly is unacceptable at any establishment—especially one that claims to offer premium service. I left not only disappoint, but deeply angered by such stereotypical bias I thought I would have never experienced.

Celebrated our 65 wedding anniversary. Have eaten here before. Staff was so kind. Treated us to a glass of champagne. Helped us choose what to order. Shared razor clams, clam chowder, clams and shrimp. All very good.
A surprise cheesecake ended our lunch.
Would highly recommend.

The tuna Tartare was one of the best thing i ever eat.
But the lobster roll was to spice and the roll wasn’t warm or crispy.
