   Wow just wow!! My wife and I wanted a special dinner out while on holiday in Japan. Wow. What an experience. Everything about our time from the food to the service and experience was incredible. But seriously the food is on another level. You will not be disappointed. We are going to come again next visit to Japan. Fukuzushi is now a tradition.

   Traditonal Omakase at Roppongi FUKUZUSHI by Master Chef “Toyo-san”: Firstly, Omakase is a Japanese phrase, used when ordering food in restaurants, that means ‘I’ll leave it up to you’. Omakase is not necessarily a preset menu where the courses are the same for everyone. Omakase is about an experience that the the Chef balances his or her specialties with the customers preferences. Being my first visit to Japan this traditional series of dishes and sushi courses was one of the best that I have had the pleasure of experiencing. The price range is on the higher end but each item was meticulously prepared with care. You won’t find a blow torch here but you will find a very knowledgeable staff who will provide an extremely friendly atmosphere and experience. English and international languages available. Thank you very much or Arigato Gozaimasu 🙏!!! Courses: Canola Flower with Miso, Red Snapper with Yuzu Sudachi Ponzu, Young Tuna Tataki with Soy Sauce Ginger and Scallion, Chu Toro, Aji aka Horse Mackerel, Tamago with Grated Radish, Uni from Hokkaido, Otoro “Fatty Tuna”, Snapper Head and Prawn Miso Soup, Anago or “Saltwater Eel”, Negi Toro Handroll made with Seaweed from the Saga Prefecture in Kyushu Japan, and I added a Botan Ebi Sushi at the end! If it’s your first time having Omakase try the traditional menu, or if it is not your first time experiencing Omakase then communicate with the staff and Chef any preferences or requests so they can tailor the experience to you.

   My granddaughter and I enjoyed an exceptional experience of delicious fresh sushi, expertly made by a friendly, engaging chef directly in front of us at the counter seating. We would highly recommend one evening in Tokyo at this beautiful dining venue.

    This family run sushi restaurant is run by fourth-generation owners. The sushi was delicious, the omakase was very personalized, and the owners (husband and wife) who operated the restaurant made excellent conversation with us as American tourists - each sushi course was generously explained and sake recommendations were made based on our preferences as customers. While I found the experience to be slightly expensive, I still believe it was worth it given the quality of sushi served, the freshness of the ginger and wasabi (the chef made us hold the wasabi root right before he grated it in front of us), and the artistry in each course.

    I have been going to this restaurant for 20 years now, and its still one of my favorite go to places in Toyko. The new location is now more like a private kitchen, so it's got a more niche feel but the chef and staff are still very friendly and welcoming. Already looking forward to going back

    Amazing prepared sushi and omakase menu. Worth the experience even as an avid goer of sushi omakase in Japan, this place is worth the try. The owner and service was very friendly. The place is tucked away so be sure not to miss it!

    An amazing food experience - Everything from the freshness of the fish to the flavors to the sake and service. While it was not inexpensive, it was worth every penny. If you have the time and the means, I definitely recommend adding this to your list.

    The staff were friendly and helpful and were even waiting for us when we entered. They were able to speak English and translate for the chef when necessary. The setting is very intimate and are able to watch the chef hand craft the meal.

    The sushi was great and the chef allowed us to take some photos and videos of him preparing it. I give it a 4 because there was not a sufficient explanation of the menu. At the end the chef asked us if we wanted something more, but nobody had explained to us if these extras were included in the hefty price we paid. We later counted that we had not been served 13 pieces, but around 10-11. Still not sure if by 13 they mean that you get 10 and then you can have 2-3 extras. We ended up not ordering more, but would have been nice to have an extra piece of the delicious tuna sushi.

    I went to Fukuzushi again before returning to my hometown! It was the great food, hospitality and the warmth that made me go back again and again. I went with a friend who loves the food as well as the decor. I look forward to coming back some time the next year.

    This was a great experience. Every bite was phenomenal. The restaurant is tucked away and unassuming but the sushi and small plates were out of this world. Waitress spoke English too (which obviously isn’t expected but nice nonetheless).

    Relocaded to a new place during Covid with smaller shop which allows very personal service and attention to details. Perfect omakase by chef toyo and his lovely wife Masami who both worked hard to make every bite worthy, and they were also very nice and welcoming keeping us company. It was perfect. Will come back again.
