Fuji Japanese Restaurant
The sushi menu includes small plates and combination platters of sushi and sashimi.
There are nearly three-dozen forms of maki available as well, including specialty versions. Temaki is served here too. Other popular items at Fuji Japanese Restaurant are the chicken with plum wine sauce, Chilean sea bass, ginger pork, panko-crusted crab cakes, multiple forms of tempura and combination plates that give you samples of more than one item.
Sushi & Sashimi
7 pieces of nigiri sushi, 9 pieces of sashimi, 6 piece tuna roll. 22 pieces total
10 pieces chef's choice and 6 piece Fuji tuna roll (tuna, burdock root, scallion, tobiko)
I am very impressed with the quality of the food. It is comparable to Sagami, and some Philly restaurants.
Really excellent sushi and other dishes!!
Really great sushi, expect to spend about $100 or more for a decent 2 person dinner. It’s byob, so I don’t think theres alcohol served. Really great food though, we’ve lived here about 9 months and it’s the best sushi we’ve had so far.
Best sushi in the area - always the best, fresh fish and excellently prepared. More traditional dishes as well as many combo rolls
Our favorite place. Thank you MiMi and Amy for always a great experience. Glad to see the restaurant full agin.
I've been eating at Fuji ever since it was located in Cinnaminson. Even after moving to Haddonfield, Fuji hasn't lost any of its charms, culinary or otherwise. The sushi is excellent, excellent, excellent. My family and I prefer driving 20 minutes each way to Fuji, over another sushi restaurant that is literally across the street from where we live. Service is attentive and - very tellingly of exceptional service - they remember repeat customers and cater to their preferences and needs without reminder. The ambience is quiet and secluded; I wouldn't say it transports you to Japan, but you do forget for a while that you're in an enclosed strip mall in downtown Haddonfield. A very reliable restaurant, I can't recall having a bad meal here, and I've been here dozens and dozens of times. Highly recommended. BYOB.
From start to finish, everything we ordered was excellent. We started with miso soup & Kinoko soup. Both were delicious, but I would recommend the Kinoko soup for sure. We then shared small plates...edamame, which was good & tuna guacamole, which was fabulous! I then had the Amanda roll which was spicy tuna, yellowtail, jalapeño & spicy sauce. This was scrumptious, but a large portion which my husband helped me to eat. He order an assortment of sashimi & fatty tuna, all of which were very fresh & delicious. The only disappointment was we ordered mochi ice cream for dessert, which was delicious, but they did not recognize my husband’s birthday which I did note on our reservation. All in all, we will definitely be returning for another scrumptious meal.
Always great service and wonderful selection of fresh fish. We are luck to have one of the finest Japanese restaurants in the Philadelphia area right here in Haddonfield.
Excellent food at reasonable prices. Top quality fare & good service.
Food was special and delicious. Every time we go we try new items on the menu, and it is always delicious.
Great service, fresh seafood, well prepared, very accommodating staff. Just a great place to eat and relax.
We got what we ordered but they issued the scallops on the one order.
Absolutely perfect with freshness, hard to find dishes, original maki combos, service, & price. It’s one of my favorite places!!!
There’s Fuji, and then there is everyone else. The sushi is phenomenal. My standbys are the India roll and pink lady roll; my boyfriend’s is the oh my god roll and out of control roll. We always order whatever appetizer special they have, it’s a surprise, and each one is better than the last. I can’t recommend Fuji enough.
Food was mediocre staff was pleasant they were very busy on Valentine's day so the wait for food was quite a ordeal
Wait was long. Food was great. Place is not that exciting. Food was worth going back though. Servers kind of stunk. Didn’t come by very often. Had to ask for everything
Always reliably delicious and fresh!!
Excellent service & the food always tastes fresh.
It was crazy busy when we were there. They were getting slammed. Even though we had a reservation, we had to wait a little bit. They were doing their best trying to accommodate everyone.
Service is much too slow.
While people were obviously working hard, the food came out erratically and in the wrong order.
We enjoyed a nice sushi dinner at Fuji. The service was a little slow, but it was a busy Saturday night. We were also placed at a table for two in the middle of the restaurant directly across from the main entrance and there is no waiting room. This didn't effect our meal at all, it's just not the optimal situation to be eating with people waiting for tables are staring at you. I understand that the space is the space, it just isn't where I would want to sit. Great sushi though and the prices were very reasonable.
Fuji restaurant was well recommended so we decided to give it a try. The meal started with a bowl of soba noodles and the hamachi Kama. Both dishes were very good. Our main meals were a couple of rolls for my wife and a chirashi bowl for me. Her rolls were prepared will and she said they tasted good. My chirashi was a disappointment. There wasn’t much variety in the cuts of fish. The tuna sashimi pieces didn’t look very high quality. The salmon sashimi pieces were not good at all. One of my favorite sushi items is salmon so that really soured my experience. The fish was cut very thick and had a very fishy taste. I ended up only finishing the one piece that I put in my mouth.
I really wanted to like this place as the night started off well. But the quality of that salmon ruined the meal for me.
Delicious, fresh sushi in a lovely setting. Staff is wonderful.
The food is always excellent. If you can't decide on the sushi, try the sushi assortment and you get a nice sampling.
Food was excellent but service was way slow.
Great food and very friendly service! Will definitely be back
Went here for New Years Eve dinner. The food, as usual here, was amazing. Sushi is so fresh. They have a nice variety of specialty rolls to choose from.
Somewhat authentic Japanese restaurant, but having traveled pretty extensively to Japan, I have a pretty high bar. The food was very good, and the service was good once we got seated appropriately (tried to seat us at the sushi bar at first...not appropriate for guests with a reservation unless specifically requested). This is a good place to go if you're looking for something a little different. There's plenty of choices for the meat eaters; and it's BYOB.
We wandered in Christmas night and it was just right. The staff were warm and friendly. The menu had variety and everything we tried was excellent. They easily accommodated to individual needs. Such a pleasure that we could have conversation and not be downed out by noise or music.
I and my daughter loved the attention we received and my daughter did find the food better then other establishments. She is looking forward to another meal at your restaurant .So please look for us in the future. Thank you for the pleasant evening
Another excellent evening at Fuji, one of the best sushi places in the area, including Philadelphia. Friendly service in a comfortable atmosphere, and once again the freshest sushi prepared excellently.
Authentic and excellent quality of food and service.
Great food and great service!
best waitress staff! Sushi is excellent! This is one of the best sushi restaurants in the South Jersey area!
We were a group of 8 including two very young children. The service was outstanding and accommodating to the children. The atmosphere was quiet and calm. The food was fantastic. My order was the "Oh My God" Roll and that is the reaction I had. Others ordered the basic sushi platter which was delicious though perhaps not the same amount of sushi as at other places. The miso soup was especially good compared to other Japanese restaurants. I would highly recommend Fuji.
Food was fresh and lots of options. Staff was friendly. Atmosphere was very casual.
Fuji is always reliable. The food is good and very fresh. Service is always excellent.
I was a little surprised by the price of their special rolls, ranging between $10 - 16, but then when I saw them I was impressed. Lots of fish both in and on the roll. I was definitely getting my money's worth. This is the best sushi in the area!
