Our favorite restaurant in Kendall, known for its inviting ambiance and exceptional cuisine, looked eerily empty on that Wednesday night. We eagerly anticipated ordering their famous grilled chicken, a dish we had come to love for its perfect seasoning and juicy texture. However, to our surprise, we were informed that they had run out of chicken for the evening—a disappointing revelation for a restaurant of this caliber. Undeterred, we decided to explore the menu further and opted for their succulent beef. It turned out to be a delightful choice; the meat was expertly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavor. As we enjoyed our meal, we couldn’t help but hope that the restaurant would see an uptick in patrons soon. It would be disheartening to witness this gem of a place struggle to stay afloat, as it truly deserves to thrive in the local dining scene.

Steaks were not cooked to requested levels. We ordered 2 steaks medium rare. One came out medium well and the other looked like a hockey puck.

The service was really great and so were the appetizers. The filet mignon cut was definitely not prime and the flavor was lacking.

Our visit to Fuegos del Sur Kendall was a first, and the initial impression upon entering left much to be desired. The cold, white lighting and minimal decor, despite the well-appointed tables and chairs, gave the space an unfinished, uninviting feel, as if the restaurant had just opened and was yet to be fully styled. The expansive foyer featured little more than a solitary host stand, adding to the sense of emptiness. Interestingly, the host doubled as our waiter, and while the service was efficient, the overall lack of ambiance was noticeable. On a positive note, the food was of excellent quality, but given the pricing, we felt the value fell short.
