Having been to brunch in the past but understanding COVID-19 mitigation we decided to go for brunch. The food was tasteless and lukewarm. The staff acted as though they were tired and didn’t want to be there. It was a true disappointment for the cost. Denny’s would have been a better choice
It was the Easter brunch... the food was good but not great... our server was very sweet and kind but not efficient. It took more than 20 minutes to get our drinks and nobody came to remove used plates... portion plates were SMALL.
We have been going to Lake Lawn for over 50 years and we were disappointed in the service. Restaurant was not crowded but our waitress was very discombobulated and our food was not hot.
Food was overpriced for the quality received. Prime rib was bloody and undercooked, shrimp appetizer was an odd flavor pairing that would have been better for red meat, not a fish plate.
Great staff and Manager. Very good food.
Solid performance on the entrees, server was on point and delivered our dinner and drinks very professionally!
Great food and ambiance. Lakeside view and dining. We have been going to the Frontier restaurant for the last 13 years and have never been disappointed. Outstanding!!!!!
Amazing food and great service! Will definitely return
Service was bad. They stuck 7 people at what appeared to be a card table. And it was so hot in the restaurant we had to walk outside several times to cool off!
My husband and I went to the Frontier Restaurant located in the Lake Lawn Resort for our anniversary. I personally would highly recommend going there for a wonderful meal. The view of Lake Delavan was spectacular and the food was amazing! You won't be disappointed! Highly recommend to make reservations ahead of time.
Very good meal, good to be eating indoors after all this time. Felt comfortable with all cleaning protocals.
Atmosphere, food and service were all fabulous! Will definately be back. It's pricey but for a romantic evening out, it's a destination worth the $$.
Server was nice and attentive so service was good. Food was just meh pricey for what you get.
Very nice, server was excellent. Highly recommend the Salmon.
We had a lovely meal here while on vacation with our 2 children. Our server was wonderful and
Great food and service! Rick was our server and he did a very good job! All of the staff are friendly and the entire facility is very clean. As always, the food was excellent!
Another excellent dining experience. Our waiter Rick was great and the food was outstanding! We will be back again.
The setting is beautiful with a view to the west over Lake Delavan at Sunset!
Great food, excellent service by William and the view was incredible!!
Valentine’s Day dinner. The server messed up our order and we had to wait 10 to 15 minutes for the correct order. Meanwhile my wife’s food was getting cold and she had to eat it. The whole idea of Valentines is they have a nice dinner together which did not happen. The restaurant offered us a glass of wine to take to the room which they messed up by giving us some god-awful wine we didn’t want. When you’re dropping over $200 plus tip for dinner you expect better. The restaurant should’ve comped our dinners. The whole idea of a Valentines dinner is there have a nice romantic dinner together. This did not happen it was basically ruined. I am not happy about this and would not recommend this restaurant to anybody. I emailed the manager of the resort and no response.
I will recommend for a regular meal but would not recommend for a romantic Valentine’s Day Dinner. Food was over priced for the setting and taste. We were charged for items we did not order. Our waiter was the best part of the night.
We were sat in the back corner which I didn't understand due to other tables being open near the front of the restaurant. We also were seated right next to a group of 3 other table who knew each other and were very loud.
This is one of those cases where its not so much the quality of the food, but the service. Couldn't be more disappointed in the attitude of our server. She was physically there, but just wasn't thinking of the customer at all. I had to wait for 10 minutes just to get utensiles after they served food. Then I had to get up and go hunt for someone to just get the utensils. Couldn't have been more disappointed.
All 3 of my guests loved the food, I thought it was okay. The place was great, the service top notch.
Service was great, very personable! Waitress was fun!
Food is average, but the view of the lake is wonderful!
Cant wait to come back again! Very happy with our whole stay!
The dining experience at the Frontier was excellent! We have been coming here for years and the menu has evolved into something better. The cocktails were great and the service and particularly the atmosphere was fantastic. Hearing Brian Fictum playing the saxophone live is always a treat and SHOULD once again be a Friday night mainstay. We will be dining there again this month.
Been dining here for 20+ years. Always very good to excellent food. This time the Ceasar salad was very weak. The house salad was worse. Lettuce almost impossible to cut or chew??? Balsamic dressing average at best. Prime rib very blan. No seasoning, tough, not good as in the past meals. We go here 7-12 times a year. Canceled our two breakfast reservations for the next two mornings based on our prime rib dinners. Small menu choices. Covid?
Waiter Rick very nice helpful $22 burger needs an overhaul to be a $22 burger.
SLLLLOOOOOWWWW service. Only 4 tables occupied in the whole restaurant and it took over an hour to get our food (breakfast) which was lukewarm at best. Had to ask several times to get refills on drinks and coffee.
Overpriced for mediocre food
Great place in area for nice dinner! Good food, great service and wonderful atmosphere!
We are regular customers. Everything was very good, except my pork chops which I had ordered as medium. They came as medium well to well. Still was okay. Otherwise, food, service, etc was very good.
The food was fantastic, the service was great and you couldn't ask for a better view!
Loved our breakfast! Although the menu was understandably limited, everything was fantastic. We had wonderful service and the atmosphere cannot be beaten. Tables were well spaced out and we felt very safe. This was our first time eating in a restaurant in 9 months and it was well worth the wait!
We had reservations were sat by an ice cold blowing ac unit we asked to switch tables they called for a manager that NEVER came... my husband after 10 min of waiting went to front again to please be reseated... the young girl was upset and got in my husbands face claimed she didn’t think it was that cold and he was too aggressive. My husband has NEVER been aggressive if anything he’s super patient and kind! I came over and she yelled at me said we were hot headed out loud! I was in shock as I wasn’t that close to hear what was said by her to the other person there.. we sat had dinner! Their COVID rules all applied for our change of tables but when the couple seated across the way got up a person in a red shirt cleaned top of table that was covered and not the chairs! They sat an elder couple there right after... the other table behind us left and the person w a green shirt and jacket TOTALLY disinfected the table he did seats/table top/ corners/ seat backs! And YET was reprimanded by the RED SHIRT PERSON that he couldn’t supervise him all night! WHAT? This person was sloppy! The front hostess super rude didn’t have her mask on when we arrived and was disrespectful! Place needs new management that actually cares about customer needs/care .
We went to the Frontier while at Lake Lawn during Christmas. The menu was limited on Christmas Eve which was fine but all the sides included either mashed sweet potato or squash, neither of which my husband cares for. He asked if he could have a baked potato with his prime rib instead and was initially told no substitutions were allowed. Our waitress was sympathetic but said the chef had yelled at her earlier when another customer made the same request. We then asked for the check for our drinks and were prepared to eat elsewhere when the waitress said she would speak to a manager. They agreed to substitute regular mashed potatoes so we decided to stay. The prime rib did not come with any au jus or horseradish sauce and under cooked brussel sprouts were substituted for the broccolini without warning. I can understand having a limited menu but you would think they would stick with tried and true sides that would appeal to more people. I was equally dissatisfied with my stuffed pork chop which came under cooked (red in the middle). Overall our dinner was a disappointment and severely overpriced.
We waited 45 minutes for water and almost an hour for salad. We were still eating salads when table next to us was done with meal and dessert. My wife spilled her full martini everywhere on lump in the table and waited forever for napkins to clean up and never even offered a new martini but she bought another one at full price. I worked here in college and supervised the dining room and was really looking forward to coming. This was my families first time here and based on that experience (and so so food at a 5 star price) we cancelled our Christmas brunch for tomorrow (which makes me really sad). Hopefully a better experience next time we come whenever that will be.
This was a Christmas Eve dinner which was a limited menu, meal was just ok, felt a bit banquet style. Staff and server were awesome and did everything to make our time there pleasant. The ambiance had a lot to be desired, they were working on the fireplace as we ate, probably because the area was cold and dark. We turned the cold vents off ourselves to warm up. Would try again, after covid because it was our first time and want to see their complete menu.
