Frontier Restaurant - Lake Lawn Resort
When I made the reservation, I requested being seated near the windows overlooking the lake. When we arrived, they didn't know this and wanted to seat us far away from the windows. I told them this was not acceptable. After a short discussion they decided to clear a round table and seat us near the windows. We had to stand and wait while this was done. We were all given the wrong bar bill and this needed to be redone. The waitress was very efficient and friendly. She made us feel welcome.
The food was delicious! The restaurant was very cold. The service was slow, our waitress did not come back to check with us much. I asked one of the servers that was taking care of a table near us and she took good care of us, refilled our drinks and continued to make eye contact to fill in where our server was missing in action a lot.
Sub par food and sub par service. Friday night seafood buffet was disappointing. Fish was overcooked and dry, service slow and drinks took a very long time to be delivered to table.
My husband had a steak, and I had the salmon. Both were good. Frontier does not have baked potatoes which would have gone good with a steak. Prices were a little high but not outrageous.
Friday night buffet was delicious. Every entree I put on my plate was excellent, including the desserts.
Very disappointed with one of the entrees and it came after we were about through with meal. Don’t think it was what menu said but didn’t ask for menu to check. Think waitress forgot to turn it in with order. Otherwise meal was fine.
Frontier has become a favorite restaurant. We had the Prime Rib buffet - and it was ok. Buffets are hit and miss and i would put this middle of the road.
The food was fantastic aside from the carving table cutting meat so small that the meat turned cold before we could sit back down. Our waitress Tammy K. was absolutely wonderful. She was very upbeat and explained everything as this was our first visit.
We were really hoping for some great food but really thought it was mediocre. My teenage daughters didn’t even finish their meals. We ordered off the menu instead of the buffet so maybe that was better. The dessert was delicious so would give that more stars.
Expensive brunch and food was just okay. Eggs Benedict were cold and instead of Canadian bacon or ham, there was a breaded chicken tender. The best thing was the cake. Absolutely fabulous chocolate cake. Both were some of the best cake I have ever had.
Food very good , entertainment enjoyable.
Waitress needs to work on her skills . She forgot a drink order, after reminding her to make sure the soup was hot it was served warm almost cold .
Saturday lunch, was a nice place to have a meal. All was nice, clean and food was ok for salads n sandwiches.
Overall experience was good. It did take a good amount of time to get drinks and food. Not sure if it was from the weddings there or what, but food service was slow coming out. View was great and server was doing the vest she could. Price was not too bad either.
Hidden Gem with amazing views. It was prime rib buffet on Saturday and place was packed, unfortunately leaving staff a little busier than should be expected to receive the attention a table should receive.
We’ve always enjoyed our dinners at the Frontier Room!
Food good but way over priced for quantity. Wrong cocktail was delivered but no attempt was made by wait staff to replace it. Will not be back.
Food was outstanding and the view was beautiful. They had live music that was also entertaining. Highly recommend.
Been there twice this summer and it was freezing cold both times. After complaints to the manager, the temperature remained frigid. We had to be seated in a different section to warm up, during the meal. I dont think I will go back. Anthonys Steakhouse and the GrandView in Lake Geneva are much nicer and more comfortable.
Our family was visiting us and we have a couple of big eaters. This restaurant is located at Lake Lawn Resort and they have a wonderful buffet breakfast Monday-Saturday. The selection is wonderful and all can find something they enjoy, plenty of great food!
We had the special; it was lobster, for my husband's birthday. The next day, I got violently sick.
Fantastic brunch on the gorgeous Lake Como! The food was wonderful, they offer buffet options as well. We were delighted with the experience.
Buffet made both my boyfriend and I sick. I wouldn’t recommend going. My server was nice but slow. Pasta chef didn’t seem very professional.
Friday seafood buffet food was a bit bland, some main dishes were not seafood
Rick was an excellent waiter. My steak was very good while more medium than medium rare. All was priced right as far as we are concerned. As before, we shall return.
I am a 50 year patron now. It is getting better all the time but I have a few comments.
Stick with traditional eggs Benedict. The carving board continues to be friendly and high quality. The dessert tables were great.
The nuts on the tray are always stale. I miss the open cream cheese for the "lox and bagel". You have take all the ingredients to your table and assemble due to the cream cheese being encapsuled. The salads to me lack flavor and are boring.
The west end of the dining room was freezing cold and we were told "everyone was complaing" but nothing could be done.
Our younger server as not as aware as your experiences servers. Lindsey is the best. I had to ask for coffee twice, champagne was not topped off, dirty plates sat On the table to long.
Servers were looking at the floor to much and not making eye contact with patrons to address their needs. We did not see our server as often as usual , she just disappeared for long periods of time.
We are used to Lindsey who is great and is one of the best servers I have ever experienced.
Great view. Great value. Great service. Great food. Why not try it out and be in the mood!
Food was not exceptional, but good. Service and attentiveness of server, outstanding. The volume of the live saxophone player was just TOO loud during dinner when patrons want to visit at the table with their guests/friends!
Visited to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary with a larger group. Our server was very friendly and attentive, and the restaurant provided a card to celebrate their day with two glasses of champagne! The food was surprisingly good and very well prepared. It is a very traditional restaurant and feels a bit like eating in a banquet hall (which it sort of is, given the resort facilities). Be very specific if you have any dietary restrictions. Admittedly I had somewhat low expectations and was pleasantly surprised.
We were there on time for reservation and were escorted to back of room near dessert area. But there were several open tables with a lake view that we passed. When we asked if we could be seated at one of those the hostess checked and yes it was ok. Everything was enjoyable and food was very good. I was the only one of 4 who likes prime rib off the bone with the marbled fat! Your rib roast was good and so was the rest of the meal.
Must have enjoyed it because I’m planning to take my family back this coming Saturday evening! I will make reservations when I know exact number of people.
Hamdin and tonya both waited on us on two separate occasions. Their service was excellent.
The ambiance was pretty. Service was adequate. We had an early reservation so it was'nt crowded. Rather limited menu and pricey. There is more that could be done. If we were to go back we'll probably eat elsewhere.
Charming setting on a sunny Sunday day.
Food was tasty .
Very very slow service. Location and food very good.
We enjoyed our prior visit. Unfortunately on this visit they had a power outage and we could not get service. Everyone was very friendly. I look forward to our next visit.
The transformer caught fire before we ordered dinner, no one ever apologized for the inconvenience and the manager was fairly rude when we wanted to sit and enjoy our appetizer seeing as that they didnt evacuate us and made us feel rushed to leave.
Local gem; awesome food ( ribs and tenderloin teriyaki were fantastic), very friendly service, the views of the lake are amazing either in the morning and in the evenings. Great breakfast buffet. We visit Lake Lawn about once a year, and never feel we need to find another place to dine; lots of options to try during a 4-5-day stay.
Always a great place for dinner. Usually we enjoy the Saturday Prime Rib buffet. We weren't overly impressed with the Sunday night entrees we ordered. They were fine, but the selection seemed slightly limited. Scallops and shrimp with pasta did not impress us. I had the grilled salmon and it was much too spicy, not quite as noted on menu.
We went there to celebrate our anniversary. They never mentioned it or congratulated us even though it was mentioned in the reservations. It was incredibly loud and unfortunately stuck next to a table of loud, annoying people. I realize they had no control over the people...just wish it would have been romantic for our celebration.
Everything was going great with our dinner. We all ordered the seafood buffet, and asked for the check after we were done eating . It took half an hour for our waiter to bring the check!!! It was so ridiculous and a poor ending to a wonderful night. Food was great, service was not.
