Like many of the downtown restaurants, the breakfast was expensive but the location convenient. The service was fair. But the potatoes in the breakfast bowl were a salt bomb - so salty, I didn't taste anything else. There are much better places.
We took my mom to Frolik for Mother's Day because we knew there would be a stunning view on a gorgeous day. Everything was fantastic on the patio! The only thing I would recommend is that the patio has some umbrellas or something, because we seriously got sunburned from being out there for 2+ hours. Also, offering more vegan options would be really helpful!
Server was great. Food was OK but overpriced. However, don't think that this is a nice bar/restaurant. The ambiance is terrible. Maybe they focus on the patio? But in a city that is overcast and cloudy 75% of the year you can't fall back on that. The inside is like they threw together whatever furniture they had. Convention center chairs, poor use of space... Just feels thrown together.
Pretty disappointing actually. Had 5:15 reservations for post-theatre dinner... it's open seating... as in, seat yourself. Plus, they don't serve the main menu until 6PM. Well, that would have been nice to know, we were hungry! Only serve happy hour bites. Server was very pleasant and attentive. Food was okay.. nothing to write home about (we had happy hour items since we weren't willing to wait another hour order dinner items).
Seems like a great place for cocktails or happy hour on a nice day (outdoor patio), but not for dinner. Inside feels more like a glorified hotel lobby with the totally open floor, steel chairs, and close tables.
We'd go back for cocktails if meeting others, but not on our own or for food.... there's lots more in the Seattle area... but, if you DO go here, go on a nice summer day (we have 12-13 here a year), and enjoy the patio! Probably the saving grace for Frolik.
If you're traveling and staying in the hotel, then the marks go up for this place for variety and convenience for a hotel stayer, but know there are dozens of better places a short walk away.
Underwhelming comes to mind when thinking of my visit to Frolik. We wanted to sit on the terrace but could not reserve a table there, it was full and thus had to sit inside. Inside the space is huge and very sparsely setup with too few tables in a disjointed manner in a too totally out of scale with the decor. So ambience inside is awful. We ordered four appetizers and one was good, one ok, and other two disappointing. We'd planned to eat dinner but decided against it and left after our appetizers.
Easter brunch was delightful. They had an egg hunt with some special eggs with prize vouchers inside (small box with alcohol minis and chocolates). Great experience! Food was also absolutely delicious.
Unfortunately the only good quality of this place was it's location and proximity to the theater. The service staff was great..but the rest of the experience was sub par. Food was turned back. Ambiance was very basic. It was also very cold in temperature. I am sorry to say I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Esperaba más, la comida dejó mucho que desear. Caro para los sabores e ingredientes ofrecidos.
The restaurant was freezing! It was the weirdest thing. The server had a leather jacket on and most guests had jackets on as well.
The photos make the environment look way cooler than it is. The blue wall is small and the lighting is bright. The environment is fine, it's just pretty basic.
I looked it up online and I didn't see that they had a limited menu for Christmas. Was kind of disappointed by the options.
Our server was exceptional. Open Table gave us a reservation for 11am--when we got there they said the kitchen closed at 11am, and that they didn't serve lunch. The server was gracious enough to hold the kitchen open for us to order off the brunch menu. The food was great and our server continued to provide excellent service until we left. I was impressed! Thank you.
Jess at the bar was awesome. Love the inspired original cocktails!!
Outdoor section the heaters were damaged. Took awhile for someone to come over to our table. Food was just okay.
Given the high overall quality of the hotel (Motif), the restaurant was a disappointment. The hamburger was almost inedible and since the patty was small and thin, they'd only prepare it medium well -- which didn't help. A chicken pasta dish was tasty in a kind of Olive Garden way -- salt and cheese. Service was friendly and attentive, decor was a little bit like a bar in a TV show. We didn't try drinks so can't evaluate the bar service.
Food and ambiance was great
I had a reservation for dinner and I had to wait 15 minutes at the front for a host to even greet me. Once I was seated, I had to wait another 15 minutes for a server to greet and bring water. I was very disappointed with the service.
Very loud and slow service. We went there before a concert an ended up missing the first act because our meal took over 2.5 hours. The food was good, but slightly over priced for what we got.
This place has so much potential: great location, great view! The service had a smile but was so disjointed it took two hours to get one round of drinks and some food. The food was terrible - such an unfortunate outcome for scallops. We were all very surprised - the experience will live on in our memories...😕
Bad customer service. Food wasn’t good and way over price.
Restaurant was amazing. Had games such as ping pong and corn hole. The service was a bit laggy. But the food and drinks definitely make up for it! The roof top experience was amazing!
The food was excellent, unfortunately it took a very long time to receive any of the items we ordered to the table. The wait staff was almost non-existent as we had to continue to go out of our way to request service. The waiter only stopped once of his free accord to check on the table, and even at that time he was so fast that he didn't stay for answers to his questions, but hustled off to handle tables with only single ladies (possibly attached, but no men in their groups) to flirt and hang out for 10 mins or more at a time. Not an ideal experience.
I can say the cheesebread was amazing. Regardless everything was ridiculously overpriced. The drinks were terribley strong. And the other food we had was not worth the price.
It wasn't busy. The waitress was nice enough. The hostess was quite gracious. The bartender was kind of not pleasant. Food was good wine was fine. The biggest turn off was we are only a party of two and they put an auto 20% gratuity. Unless it's a large party it's completely inappropriate to do that. the service definitely did not deserve 20%.
I have no idea what the issue was with so many of these reviews. The food was good, the band was decent and the rooftop experience was excellent.
They must have really improved their service for us.
When I ate here 3 weeks ago, the service was great and the food was great It's great. But when I ate here last week, the service was terrible, the food was cold, our salads and entrees came or together and the drinks were bad.
Was looking forward to checking this place out... decor and ambiance are cool but still feels like an average hotel restaurant/bar. Wasn't wow'd by the food or service...
Our waiter was definitely high and when I called to make the reservation for an anniversary they failed to mention that there would be about 100 Amazon employees there for a work event. Not the best environment for an intimate experience.
First of all, I would like to say the food was delicious. That is the best of what I have to say. We had an early evening reservation at 6:15 pm. My wife chose the lobster pasta and the waiter returned to say they were out. She then reluctantly ordered the duck and he had to return to tell her they were out of that as well. This was a problem because the menu is very limited in entree options. She finally found something on the appetizer menu that would hold her over, but it was not really what she wanted. In the mean time, we had waited almost a half an hour for our cocktails and I had to ask the waiter to check on them. Our dinner orders came at separate times as did our cocktails. Our waiter knew there was discord with the situation, but he did very little to change the dynamic. I am certain he was not happy to be the bearer of bad news, but we got a perfunctory apology and no discount on our bill or an offer of something else to tide us over. As I said the food was great, but was it worth it to come back into that business to go through that again. Sadly, no.
The drinks were awesome and the patio was really nice. We went for live music and had a great server out on the patio. Once we went inside for our dinner reservation, the service was a lot slower, but they gave us a dessert on the house. Food was INCREDIBLE!
Came to see the band Bread & Butter, as part of Frolik's Rooftop Concert Series. Had a great time! Helpful staff and good food/drink!
Service really was horrible. Drink/bartenders disappointed & made for long waits & poorly made drinks
Service was so slow we left before the apps arrived.
This place is beautiful. Loved my meal- Cobb salad. Fresh, quality ingredients. Server was absent. A different server came to check on us more than he did. When we asked for check original server forget so we had to go find him and ask again. Seemed annoyed with us.
Not into the scene so much. Felt like we were more an annoyance than a valued guest.
Poor service...maybe due to automatic addition of 20% service charge? Speaking of which, server didn't make us aware of this and didn't provide us the itemized bill. An attempt to get an additional 20%? Maybe, maybe not. Food is averGe and overpriced. Positives: outdoor, playful, trendy area. Good for expensive drinks downtown. Eat first, though, or share expensive small bites ( they were out of two apps the evening we were there).
The halibut was totally bland. Needed a sauce to compensate for the dry fish prep.
The roof top deck at Frolik is one of the best kept secrets in Seattle that shouldn't be. The food and service is great and for lunch there isn't much of a crowd. On a sunny day...go here!
Place is a dump and smelled liked and unclean bar. Do not go there for dining.
Food was expensive and bland. Views were pretty nice. Not for 20 year olds, probably best for 30+.
This restaurant was hyped on the internet and the pictures are deceiving. Cool rooftop but interior dining is subpar with lousy service. Nice people but experience wasn't up to that of the great Seattle establishments. If you're looking for a hotel lobby feel with Nintendo64, or some drinks this is an OK spot but if you want an enjoyable meal head elsewhere.
Service was not that great. The waiters were dressed very casual for a supposedly nice bar, like sagging blue jeans. Plus I saw my drink was ready on the bar and it's sat there for 15 minutes while my waiter chatted with another person and joked around. Plus it's a rooftop bar but with no views. The pictures online looks a lot pretty than in person.
Food was mediocre
