Everything from the reservations to the lack of service was handled poorly. Very disappointed as we had hoped this would be a great place to come to during the spring time.

Love the Frio Grill. We have been there twice so far and both times it has exceeded our expectations. The entire place reminds us of the hill country. The pretzel is huge and delicious and the chicken fried steak is tasty.

The food has definitely improved! They were out of two wines that were on the menu and several meal options. The waiter struggled with initial ordering but pulled it together. Would eat there again, just wish they had better attention and presence among the waitstaff.

We tried Frio when it first opened and weren’t impressed. So glad we came back! The River Trash appetizer is excellent and all of our entrees were great. The menu is diverse and the food was fresh and a step above the regular southern food restaurants. This one has lots of Texas flavors and really creative combinations. And if you’re a traditionalist, they have a pretty good chicken fried steak too. It’s tucked away and not super crowded. Great for families. AND a great cocktail menu too.

Not a local but dine here when visiting bc it’s on Open Table. Big Disappointment.
4:30pm on a Sunday and this place was a mess inside. Dirty tables everywhere and women’s restroom disgusting. No toilet paper and filthy stalls.
Plenty of waitstaff standing around while 2 worked 3 tables inside and outside area.
Huge servings of food but nothing I would order again. Quail bites sweet with maple gravy? Shrimp tacos tasteless. Fried okra, pickles and onion were greasy but at least had flavor.

Wonderful, we really enjoyed our meal. The reviews were good but this was the first experience for us and we loved it. We had a friend in town and decided to try something new. From the Katy/West Houston area it is more driving that you might want, but WORTH IT.

Country casual in appearance, but food was well above par. Interesting menu, with excellent presentation and hearty portions. It’s a bit off the beaten track, but so glad I ventured out. I’ll be back again to dive into their wine and spirit offerings!

The service today was extremely slow and the food was just ok. The brunch menu was less expensive than normal, but for the quality I felt it was still overpriced. We had to ask the server numerous times to bring something we already asked him to bring.

Our experience here was wonderful! The food was delicious and fresh. I had the Rockport fish tacos and they were superb! My husband had the snapper, which for us has been hard to find a restaurant that serves it. He was beyond excited to find it and it was delicious!

This visit was my husband's and my third visit we had made reservations weeks ahead for Father's Day for our Dad's. It also happened to be our middle child's 19th birthday and my father-in-laws birthday so this was an extra special occasion. The food was amazing (they do not disappoint) and the staff was super great. My one thing it would have been nice if they had a least compt one of the desserts we got since I had told the waiter why we were there. However Frio's has not overall disappointed us and we know we will be back again soon.

Went for Father’s Day Brunch, last minute and wanted to stay local. Pleasantly surprised. I expected more of an upscale vibe, by it was definitely more laid back, country comfort ambience instead. Which in itself isn’t bad, and didn’t effect my view on it. They had our reservations and they actually put us in a private room which was a very nice touch, since the main area is pretty dimly lit and way more loud.

The service was really good, took the drinks a while to come out but other than that, overall good experience.

The star of this lunch was the food, hands down everything tasted amazing. Very home-made and fresh vibe to it, and just delicious. Couple of us had burgers, some had a breakfast type dish and wife got the chicken fried steak. All were starts in their own right.

Overall, very happy and love it’s locally owned and nearby, will definitely come back. If I could compare it to anything, i would say it’s close to Gristmill in Gruene, TX (Hill Country area). Definitely not in ambience, Gristmill is an amazing place and location, so hard to really compete since we’re here in Cypress, TX. But other than, great job.

Enjoyed the brunch menu for a busy Father’s Day weekend. Huge portions, great value, and unique decor housed in a historical building with additions for a one of a kind experience with Texas flair. Favorites menu items from our group were the Chicken & Waffles, biscuits, and the French Toast Brioche.

We enjoyed everything about this restaurant. Unfortunately the power went out from a severe thunder storm which knocked down a power line.
We did finish our meal. The manager wanted to comp our dinner because the computers were out. He was kind enough to accept cash. ;-)
We will definitely return.

This was our 2nd visit to this restaurant and the first since after their first week. We were unimpressed with the service on both visits. We watched the person that was supposed to clear our table spend time flirting with a female guest instead of getting our table ready. We were with a person that has problems walking and uses a cane and instead of putting us at an open table closer to the front we were put in the back making it more difficult for someone with a disability. We came on mother’s Day and I was told two days before that we could order off the menu since we were coming in at 3. Instead, we were forced to go through the buffet that was overpriced for the poor quality of the food. There were no clean plates so we had to ask each time we wanted to get something. Looking into the kitchen when one server went back there I could see stacks of clean plates, but instead of making sure they were available for guests the employees were busy with each other. The food was left uncovered and unsupervised outdoors allowing insects and birds access. We live close to this restaurant and truly wanted it to be a good place to go out to eat. There are far superior places to dine that are also less expensive making them even better values. We will not give our business to Frio ever again.

Mother’s Day buffet- no menu service offered. No price for buffet displayed. Our reservation was lost and we had to show our confirmation on phone to be seated. Buffet- the cold food (deviled eggs/chicken salad) was warm, the hot food (fish) was cold. Soft drinks were flat. Waitress was friendly, but it was a buffet- we rarely saw her. She only removed empty plates when she brought bill. THE BILL!!! The buffet turned out to be $35 per person!!! And then 20% mandatory gratuity was added on TOP of that. I believe in tipping but 20% for a $35 buffet is ridiculous! We never got a menu so this charge was never announced ahead of time. We won’t go back.

It was pretty busy, but it was Mother's day brunch. Food was great! Set-up for buffet was a little chaotic and packed, and we had to wait for our reservation a little longer than I would have liked. Our waitress was super sweet and as attentive as possible, but she was clearly overwhelmed. Bartender was funny while we waited. Can't wait to come back when the weather is cooler! Outdoor seating looked phenomenal.

We went for mothers day brunch and promptly seated per our reservation, our server Jacob was amazing and went the extra mile to accommodate our requests. My only hang up was that for a buffet style event they seemed to have a problem keeping food warm for serving which does put a damper on things but what food we did manage to get that was somewhat warm was good. We made reservations for father's day/my birthday and hope they manage to make some changes by then.
