Beautiful post-valentine’s date. Drinks were delicious and the food was even better. Thor was an excellent server. We’re very excited for our next meal at Friday Saturday Sunday.

Always love eating here. Tonight, we split an endive salad. I had the shrimp cocktail and it was great; my husband had the chicken liver mousse - even I liked it and I am not a pate fan. For our entrees, my husband had the smoked trout pasta and I had the gnocchi-those are our go-to orders here, and never disappoint. Drinks are reasonable, and overall, it was a wonderful evening. We usually end up talking to folks at tables next to us, tonight was no exception. Always a friendly scene. Love this place for so many reasons. No wonder it’s so difficult to get a reservation. But we’ll worth worth the wait!

Food was fantastic. We ordered a lot of little plates and the seafood plateau which was a reasonable size for 4 people. Then we got 1 pasta dish which was enough to share. I would highly recommend this place. They also offer complimentary sparkling water which was a nice touch. Our waiter was very attentive and polite.

Nice restaurant and the food was very good. Unfortunately, they had a very limited amount choices for appetizers and entrees for a non-meat/fish eater. They actually only had one - Gnocchi.

The beauty of FSS is that it’s the perfect restaurant for a special occasion or no occasion at all. And if they ever offer the suckling pig face when you visit, order immediately. You will not be disappointed.

I had a wonderful dinner at the restaurant last week with my daughter. It is a quaint old building. A very nice space. The most remarkable part of the meal was the herring spaghetti. My entrée of the halibut was delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed the parfait dessert. The service was excellent. Wonderful restaurant!

Upon arrival we were escorted by the hostess to our table immediately. The server was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. We made our selections and took our servers advice about the days special entree (pigs face!!!). The Chef is obviously very skilled as each plate came out with great flavors and presentation - nothing overly done or dressed with foams, gels and puffy clouds, yet all well balanced flavors and good grounded food elegantly plated. The pigs face was also excellent and well cooked and presented with accompaniments the worked very well with the dish.
Over all a great experience, not inexpensive but fair value for money and I would definitely go again.

Food: the New York strip was cooked beautifully, the artichokes unique and delicious in their preparation, and the pasta sublime. The wines were excellent. The staff generously brought out two wonderful desserts at their selection since they knew we were celebrating something - a thoughtful touch!

Service: The service was brisk, which worked well until I began to feel rushed toward the end of our meal.

Ambiance: the seats are so close together we couldn't help but feel that our conversation wasn't particularly private; the conversations surrounding us were a tad distracting. It was even difficult at times to hear my date given the noise level.

Overall, I'd highly recommend Fri Sat Sun for the food & wine. You could, however, certainly do better in terms of a more private, intimate dining experience with your guest(s).

My husband and I had a very enjoyable anniversary dinner at Thursday, Friday, Saturday on Thursday night. Even though the restaurant was crowded, service was excellent, the food was hot and well prepared. We enjoyed the shrimp cocktail, artichokes, strip steak and lobster. Everything tasted great and was attractively presented. We passed on desserts but had had plenty to eat. We will return and will recommend the restaurant to others.

Outstanding food and atmosphere. Our waiter was more concerned about another table (where he knew the male diner, and wanted to help him impress his date) than about us, however. Excellent sommelier, who made up for the unavailable wine we had selected. First rate food in every respect.

This meal was simply fantastic. We were very well advised by a charming, delightful waiter, who gave us helpful information about how much to order and what he liked best. The ambiance is lovely: it's a very small restaurant but it doesn't feel at all cramped, and the noise level was never a problem, though I was there with a person who is slightly hard of hearing. The food was *exquisite*: we adored each and every course. The portions are a good size to allow you to sample several. This is my new favorite Philadelphia restaurant -- and, as any Philly diner knows, that's a high bar, as the city is full of so many great ones! One word of warning to people with mobility issues: you do have to climb a staircase to get to the main dining area, but my fellow diner, who is 90, was able to do it without difficulty.

Our expectations were very high for our first cocktails and meal at the "new" Fri Sat Sun. We reserved for a Sunday evening at 7:45; Paul MacDonald was at the bar with a talented crew. Our party of four mounted the stairs to the beautifully redesigned dining room. Every single thing we tasted - on-menu and off-menu cocktails, wine, each small plate, each large plate, and each dessert - exceeded our high expectations. Service was professional, polite, and not intrusive. Without pretension, the sophistication and subtlety of flavor combinations was remarkable. For example, I asked the bar for a dealer's choice - invent a gin cocktail to pair with the the raw oysters with a frozen (granita-style) Meyer lemon mignonette. The crunchy texture of the frozen mignonette on the oysters was a masterful complement to the perfect flavor combination, and Paul not minimalist, not large enough that one leaves over-full. This meal was as good as any I've had in 32 years in Philadelphia, and several multi-Michelin-star restaurants in London. Highly recommended.
