Frida Mexican Cuisine - Sherman Oaks
Friday & Saturday, 11am-11pm
Great Food and Service! Always a great time and a nice warm reception by the staff and team. It was my birthday and they did not disappoint
The service was forgetful and unattentive. The food was just OK
Have heard this Brunch advertised and wanted to go…once was enough.
128$ (before tip) for 2 Brunch’s and 3 margaritas !
I hadn't been there in two years and I was very impressed on how their food has not changed.
Very pleased with the tasty food and the variety of their brunch menu.
I thought the price for their brunch was reasonable.
I will definitely try to go back, soon.
The food was terrible and the noise level was out of control.
The meats and guac are not seasoned. Did not taste like authentic Mexican food.
Overpriced food and drinks! Manager was rude and argumentative. Definitely DO NOT recommend.
We had a nice dinner at Frida Sherman Oaks. I enjoyed my Pollo Mole entree and my wife her Carnitas, which were tasty but a little too chunky for her. The service was good, but a little slow. It was fairly noisy with some large parties, but the atmosphere was nice. We hope to return soon!
Food had no flavor, none whatsoever. The server was ok; though, we waited to be served at the beginning.
I had lunch here for the first time last week and was surprised how pricey the food was for the quality. The food was good, not great, and definitely not worth the prices. There is much better Mexican food out there for much less money. The server was very friendly and we got everything in good time, just disappointed with how expensive it was.
I wouldn't call the noise level energetic, but loud.
GREAT PLACE WITH A GREAT FOOD & DRINKS .ALWAYS COMING HERE .
I arrived to meet a welcoming host stand of energetic people. I was seated in about three minutes.
My server Shirley arrived to take drink orders she was very pleasant. I asked if they served hard shell tacos and she replied yes. I asked if I could get hardshell tacos with shrimp to which she replied I think you can but let me check with the chef. She came back to tell me that I could not have tacos with shrimp and I replied well give me to taco shells with just lettuce tomato and cheese put the shrimp on the side and I’ll make the tacos myself. She said that should not be a problem I’ll take care of it. She came back to tell me that the chef said that they could not do it because the tacos were already pre-packed with beef and chicken. I thought to myself a restaurant like this has tacos pre-prepared prior to them being ordered.
Basically what I surmised is the chef was lazy and didn’t wanna do anything to ensure that I was pleased with my order. I’ve been to many restaurants all over Los Angeles and all over the United States and I have never been told that they have prepackaged tacos prepared. By the way the food was just average I’ve had better food at El Torito which is a chain.
This is not a good place for a date there were kids everywhere running around making lots of noise in addition to all the noise from the blender that was going off at the bar. This was not a place to be romantic or enjoy a date . It’s more of a family restaurant if you have kids and you’re looking for a great place to bring them this would be the place but if you were out on a date you would not want to bring anyone here if you want to have some privacy and some quiet time.
Hats off to Shirley C she was absolutely amazing in spite of all the other disappointments about this restaurant.
Overpriced bougie Mexican food. Poor ambiance. Just an open room with tables and chairs. Wait was nice, though.
We were there early, but even at 5:30, it was very noisy. The music was too loud. Difficult to have a conversation. Service was good but asking for our orders to quickly. No time to look at the menus. Food was very good.
First time eating there. Food was very good and so was the margarita. We had nice waiter. Planning to go more often.
Just ok. Pricey for Mexican food
We enjoyed our brunch very much. The food was delicious. Lots of great options. Price was a little high and some folks in our party are elderly and don’t eat a lot so they certainly did not get their money’s’ worth.
There was a Birthday in our party and that was noted on the reservation I made through Open Table but it was not acknowledged at the restaurant. However another table fairly nearby did enjoy the mariachi band coming to their table to sing Happy Birthday to their group for a Birthday. Oh well...
This is a pretty average Mexican restaurant. Our main complaint was that it was VERY cold in the restaurant. Everyone was wearing their coats. We asked the waiter and his response was that he agreed with us and that it had been that cold since he had been working there. We asked if the heat could be turned up and he shrugged. It made the entire experience uncomfortable. The food and drinks were average. Not bad but not great.
Very loud music the enchiladas were cold and cheese was not melted, service was just ok, we had to ask several time to bring the salsas.
Staff Holiday Lunch Great Food but, service is vital.
One of our Menus had a lower price and one of our staff
members brought it to the servers attention and all he
said is “we just changed prices yesterday & I need to
take this one back”. My boss told him they should honor
that price and was completely ignored. Should have
asked for the manager. Didn’t want a scene in front of
our staff. To aggregate things more one person ordered
Beef & Shrimp Fajitas and got Chicken. Sadly waiter only
said sorry and made no attempt to correct his error.
Ridiculous to charge extra for additional tortillas (you get
3 mini tortillas). We spent over $300, one person had to eat
what he didn’t order and definitely speaks for server with
an attitude; lack of customer service skills.
Great, if not overpriced food in a pleasant atmosphere. The service was wonderful and the restaurant noise level was within reason. The food's enjoyable, but again, costs too much!
We had dinner for the first time at Frida before seeing a movie. Everything we ordered was top notch and so delicious. The ribeye tacos at the best served ribeye meet I’ve had in a very long time. Even the rice beans and plantings were so good. I would definitely recommend this place and I’ll be back for sure
It was a Friday night so it was somewhat busy. It took about 15 minutes for our waiter to acknowledge us once we sat down. The food was OK for the price. Beautiful restaurant but over-priced.
The service was horrible!! I've been to their restaurant in Cerritos and everything was great, from the service to the food, which is why I suggested to my friends to meet their. Bad idea, the food was cold when it was finally brought to the table, then we had to wait for an hour just to get the bill. I had to apologize to my friends for bringing them there, I was embarrassed of the service
I ordered Chicken Fajitas $25 and it was absolutely tasteless. No flavor at all. I feel like I wasted my money.
The service the place was very nice the drinks were awesome will definitely come back
SERVER TOOK FOREVER, FOR THE OVERPRICE AND HIM TAKING HIS SWEET TIME
The food is very good and the service, especially while sitting at the bar, is outstanding. The one big problem that I have is the fact that they overbook, take too many walk in's thus, they don't honor their reservations. We had 7:30 reservations on a Saturday night and by 8:00pm, we became tired of waiting and sat at the bar to eat. That is totally ridiculous. And, the excuse given to us by an obviously young, untrained hostess was... we had too many walk-ins and are full. In the interim, many empty table were obviously visible, and there was a crowd of people waiting to be seated. She wouldn't/couldn't even speculate on a time "we might" get seated. Bad, bad business. If you are going to take reservations, honor them.
Good Mexican food. Very noisy. Service can be slow.
I made an error in my noise review- noise level was low. Service very friendly, food was very good. They have aged well, as we ate there when they first opened and it was not running well.
Our waiter was great at answering our questions about the different dishes and helped us celebrate our boss's Birthday with a special desert and candle with fireworks! Awesome experience. We will definitely be back and tell all our friends to go. Thank you! :)
My server was amazing at getting us out within our tight deadline. The Manager came over to see how our experience was going. It was a great meal.
Way too loud! Left with a horrible headache.
Poor service and long wait with reservation. Poor service and long wait with reservation.
Food was great, service was friendly, margaritas were tasty. Overall great place!
It was very busy, But pretty sure our server forgot us a couple of times. Food was barely ok, not enough to recommend to any friends. NOISE level was so high, could not hear anyone across table, got to talk to next to me but no one else. Same with all our friends. Took over 1/2 hr. to get check. Would not recommend to anyone.
Solid Mexican food. Very good and quick service. Extremely noisy.
Great place, service & food...!!! Loved it!!! Going back with more friends & family.
