The service was bad. The food was the worst ever plus we found a huge hair in the salsa. We told the manager but he said there was nothing he could do. They brought us new salsa. I do not recommend.
Super delicious food. Amazing service. Thank you!!
I love fridas for their drinks! Food is ok for the price. I’ve been waiting to be seated in the restaurants patio (not the sidewalk) but all three visits have been on the sidewalk. Hoping next time I’ll get that chance! Service is great & very attentive/welcoming.
Thank you to the Manager this evening and kind staff for seating us in a most isolated , but beautiful patio area. It was a perfect birthday celebration for our friend and neighbor, Amber. She was so happy and the food was delicious! Thank you!
Family and kid friendly. Great experience. Friendly staff and consistent delicious food. The staff ensured everything was clean and parties kept 6ft apart.
Service was friendly and food was great! My husband and I went on a Saturday night and enjoyed ourselves! We will make this a favorite spot for sure! The hostess Brynne was lovely.

We have been to this location and reserved here in the past. This was our first time dining out since the whole pandemic and it wasn't so bad. The employees made us feel like they were taking all the measures to make the dining experience a pleasure. We dined outside on the sidewalk tables, and these days it's not as easy to enjoy your meal when some people are walking by without masks and others are pulling up beside you for the carryout. It was interesting because there will be certain aspects of the dining experience that are changed forever. The service staff had on masks and although we were outside it was surreal because to eat you must have your masks and face coverings off, but at the same time, you're in the presence of people from all over.
Overall, the dining experience was fine, it will just take some time getting used to it now. I had the Flautas de Pollo and it was delicious. My girlfriend had the Diego Combination plate and Watermelon Margarita. She liked everything except she isn't a fan of Frida's smokier tasting red sauce so score one for me 😊. The service was great, and it felt good to get back out. I love to cook, but sometimes it's nice to just have a nice night out and this was what we needed.
This was the worst Mexican food I’ve ever tasted. I can’t say eaten because after 2 bites the rest went in the trash
Very good Mexican food. Good atmosphere. Good margaritas. A solid choice.
Best guac!!! The waiters and waitresses are the best.
Was very fun, especially if your ‘watching the game’ too .... if you aren’t, then it’s a little loud for talking, but that’s to be expected for a bar/restaurant, so overall it’s great food and a fun time
Good food, attentive service, nice atmosphere. Not a great venue for vegetarians but otherwise a good choice for sit down Mexican in Westwood.
BEST Mexican food I've had in a long while. I had the enchiladas suizas and they were OUTSTANDING! Service was friendly, space is bright and open. Highly recommend!
Food is tasteless.
All delicious though having a soccer game turned on the TV made a crowded noisy restaurant even noisier.
Mole very good. Queso Fundido with mushrooms very good.
Would never go here again. Went for a Valentine’ date. My date walked out because of the horrible service. They served one set of drinks and an appetizer. We had to get the attention of staff to get another drink. No one ever came back to the table to take our food order. Mind you we came here for a dinner date. We never ate dinner. A complete waste of time. If I wanted complete crap of service I would have went to a homeless food bank. That’s how I would describe this place. Even at McDonald’s you get a better service. Completely destroyed my date night. And an overly priced one at that. I don’t mind spending money for great food and service, if that is what you were looking for, do not come.
Wasn’t overly impressed. It’s tasty but very expensive for what you get. We were brought the wrong entree.
Nice place, good food. Noisier than expected.
Restaurant was nearly empty but we still had to ask for things, like water and our drink order, multiple times.
Happened upon this place for a leisurely lunch with the hubby. Ended up staying for 2 hrs and drinking margs. The food was great and the margaritas (obvi) were amazing. Highly recommend the watermelon margarita!
Frida's was excellent. The service was excellent and startlingly fast- I thought there had been a rip in the time-space continuum when the food was delivered so quickly. And the chips, guacamole and entree were fantastic. The chicken mole enchiladas were the best I've ever had. We will be back many times- would highly recommend!
Average food quality and very expensive
The service was abominably slow. It was evident that they were under-staffed and after speaking to the manager, he told me that they had cut back on staffing due to budget. Seriously!? Our drinks were poorly made and both food and drinks took far too long to arrive to the table. Once they did arrive neither were worth the wait. I do not plan to return.
It was great just too loud for a business dinner
We were the loudest people there. Had a great time out on the patio. Food took a bit longer than expected but was fabulous!
Food was solid gooey American / Mexican. Just what we wanted. Music was so loud we couldn’t talk even though dining room was empty. TV’s everywhere.
Bit crowded with UCLA graduation, but overall a great experience!
Sadly we had INCREDIBLY slow service. I can't even remember the food because EVERY SINGLE THING we ordered took WAY too long to arrive. The waitress didn't even come over at first. We had to get up and head to the bar to order margaritas, and then we were noticed. I think the food was pretty good but experience was ruined.....
Food was great but the service wasn't. Our waitress lacked any personality and seemed in a rush to get us out the door despite the fact that there were tons of open tables. She cleared the plate right out from under my friend's hand while she was still eating!
Enjoyable and fun atmosphere . The food is always good😊
Amazing Mexican Cuisine, best we've ever had. The skirt steak and enchilada was delicious. Outstanding service, truly worth a visit if you enjoy gourmet Mexican or just for drinks and appetizers. The guacamole made tableside was so fresh and flavorful.
The service was very slow at first but improved. The food was very good and quite authentic. The margarita was tasty, but a little weak. I'll go back again just for the guacamole! It was awesome!
Quality for cost good. Noise level unacceptable. Would buy takeout.
Music too loud--would like better service. Waitress didn't listen carefully to order. Seating could be more comfortable, has a slightly "fast food" atmosphere. Would prefer cozy restaurant.
If you get there early, 6-6:30 it's easy seating and the noise level is acceptable.. The staff is very friendly and quite capable.
Food was very good and plentiful. I have been there more than once this week.
We thought Frieda Mexican Restaurant would be a nice place to have lunch. We were so mistaken. The first thing they brought to the table were the chips. They brought mole and green sauce. We asked if we could have some red salsa. They seemed to not know what red salsa was, and said they didn't have any. So we asked for pico de gallo for our chips. They brought 2 small containers. Later we found out that we were charged $7.90 extra for those. Strike 1. When we ordered our food the server asked if I wanted green or brown sauce over my burrito. I said sure, green. I found out later that they charge extra for that too, I could've just used the green sauce that was on the table. Strike 2. There were extra charges for sour cream and extra cheese for my wife's tacos, which she didn't finish because they were not up to the same standard of a less mediocre Mexican restaurant. But the third strike came when on the way home we looked at those extras, which I should have noticed before I paid, but I didn't. My wife called the restaurant to speak with the manager. My wife was transferred to he General Manager Maurico Marcus, who told her he could do nothing about those charges. But he did give her a number to call, which she did. It turned out to be a restaurant back east that had no affiliation with Frieda or Casa Azul Cantina, and told my wife that their restaurant was not part of that or any chain. What a run around!! They put us through all of this for $12.85!! Not a way to run a business. So buyer beware. If you go to Frieda in Westwood, CA. Make sure you ask if there are any extra charges that are not mentioned on the menu. I'm surprised they didn't charge us for water.
Horrible. Food was digusting. It smelled like it was cooked in old dish water. The drinks were good but not consistent.
Frida was OUTSTANDING! We enjoyed all of our meals and the setting is picture perfect. Frida was very accommodating as I had made reservations via OpenTable but something must have got mixed up. They seated us right away and in an perfect spot to watch the sun set. The value for what you receive is great! Make sure you visit this restaurant while on the island. AMAZING!
My husband and I went there for Sunday brunch and enjoyed ourselves. The food is always really tasty.
